You take a good look around the PINK ROOM, which as it turns out, isn't pink at all. There's...relatively nothing in here! The only things of note are the TABLE in the corner and whatever the heck all this stuff is on the WALL. Starting off, you can see the LARGE COPPER WIRING you've become accustomed to, which comes down from the room above and continues weaving a path along the WALL and into the HALLWAY. On top of the WIRING in several places are fairly large BLACK BOXES. Given the size, attachment to WIRES, and ELECTRICITY SYMBOLS painted onto them, you assume that these things are OVERSIZED RESISTORS. Finally, there's that same TRANSPARENT WALL blocking you from interfering with any of the equipment in any way whatsoever. It seems like it's all just here for show.

Congratulations! You've explored the entire 1ST FLOOR!

As you're still standing there, a loud, booming voice comes out of nowhere, which sounds like it's being broadcast through a large SPEAKER that you can't see.

"WARNING: LIGHTNING ROD ACTIVATED."

This is followed by some strange mechanical whirring noises directly overhead, but you see nothing.

>> PANIC!!!!
>> Trent and Jimmy: Hide behind something and somewhere fast!

You immediately panic but find nowhere to hide. OH MY GOD A STORM IS COMING AND THERE'S A LIGHTNING ROD UPSTAIRS THIS IS SO SCARY WAIT A MINUTE OK MAYBE IT'S NOT SO SCARY AFTER ALL.

TRENT just stands there and wonders what the heck you're doing. (It wouldn't be the first time!)

>> Jimmy: Take the key card
>> Trent: Grab key card.
>> Grab the keycard.

You both see the APEX YELLOW KEYCARD on the TABLE and try to decide who will hold onto it.

Actually, let me keep that, if you don't mind. Before I left Apex to stake out the mine here, I was due for a promotion to Level Three Manager. If we eventually head back to Apex and I'm caught with this Yellow Keycard, no one will probably think twice. As opposed to you--no offense of course, but you're not a manager, so it'll stick out really easily.

TRENT now has the APEX YELLOW KEYCARD.

>> Head back to the NOT-TARDIS and swipe the yellow keycard in the yellow reader back at APEX.

You think about heading back to the NOT-TARDIS and APEX MICROCHIPS, but the STORM is already partly upon you, and it's starting to rain pretty hard outside! The THUNDER and LIGHTNING are still quite a ways off, but you can hear the RAINDROPS pounding the CASTLE WALLS. Combined with how far away the NOT-TARDIS's CLIFF is and how comfortable this CASTLE is, you figure you could wait a few hours before heading back out. At least long enough to let the STORM blow over. Besides, TREES are a LIGHTNING hazard--do you really want to go out in the FOREST in a STORM?

>> Jimmy: Check on Epona

You go to see how your trusty WOODEN TROJAN STEED is doing. You immediately notice that due to the STORM and the fact that BURAM CASTLE'S FRONT DOORS are wide open, there are strong WINDS coming in here.

In fact, EPONA has been nudged slightly to the left. You assume that the FIERCE WINDS must be accountable for this.

>> Jimmy: Swipe yellow keycard through the computer

You and TRENT go upstairs as he swipes the APEX YELLOW KEYCARD through the COMPUTER, but nothing happens. It tells you the PINK DOOR is unlocked, as if it was quality information that you didn't already know.

>> Trent: Go back to the room with the giant box of Jaitia and watch for reactions as the lightning rod conducts electricity into the box

TRENT heads back to that room on the 1ST FLOOR with the giant box of REFINED JAITIA and the GIANT COPPER WIRE coming out of it. The WIRE is probably connected to the LIGHTNING ROD upstairs, but from the sounds of the THUNDER, the LIGHTNING is still quite a ways away. It's coming, slowly but surely, but isn't here yet.

>> Jimmy: Look outside the window to see how Buram and its residents are handling the storm

It's sure raining out there! This is probably nothing new to the residents of BURAM VILLAGE, but you sure feel for them anyway in their WOODEN HOMES. Hopefully they're waterproof!

>> Both: Run to the nearest window and deploy kite with a chunk of jaitia attached. Wait until jaitia is struck by lightning.

As much as you'd love to do this, and as much as it might be helpful since the temperature experiments were fruitless, you have no way to make a KITE. You have no CLOTH for the KITE or STRING to hold onto as it flies way up high.

TRENT turns to you and muses out loud.

Actually, come to think of it...I wonder why the lightning rod activated? I was pressing a whole bunch of buttons before and nothing ever happened, and it randomly activates while we're standing in the pink door room? Could it have something to do with barometric pressure or electromagnetism in the air? I can even hear the mechanical parts still moving--it probably takes a while to open the roof hatch and extend something so heavy into the air.

Enough time has passed, and you have regained 1 MP!
