The two of you have reconvened! TRENT points to the TABLE against the WALL, on which he's spread the five TRANSPARENT OVERLAYS you collected together. The TABLE presents the OVERLAYS exactly as you found them.

Alrighty, check this out, Jimmy. You found three of these and I found two, bringing us to a total of five transparent overlay thingies. It's my assumption that this is the "Scattered keycode" I saw referenced on the papers on the table. I'm certain this is all there is--we've only come across five, and we've been through the whole place.

So, how exactly is this going to get us past that keypad?

>> Jimmy: Nibble Jaitia. (Maybe the refined version tastes better.)
>> Jimmy: Notice the refined jaitia's weight

Wasn't it the MAGIC TRINKET thingy you originally nibbled? Or did you nibble your original UNREFINED JAITIA, too. Gosh, you must just be hungry or something.

You give the REFINED JAITIA a little nibble. It's still hard like a ROCK, or a GEMSTONE, or whatever the heck it is, but you can easily tell that it's already much more brittle than the UNREFINED JAITIA was. You couldn't even scratch that thing with your PICKAXE, and the REFINING EQUIPMENT proved even more what has to take place before the thing will even crack open. It's also a bit lighter you guess? It doesn't have all that super-hard-rock-crust stuff around it now, so that's probably an obvious observation anyway.

>> Jimmy: De-equip Walkie-Talkie in place of Stapler in right hand. Place pickaxe in the left.
>> Trent: De-equip Walkie-Talkie; equip Handgun

Uh...ok. Might as well; you can always change it back later.

>> Put transparent overlays on each other and then press the button sequence in using feet. Foot-wrestle to decide who does it.
>> Enter 17854 onto keypad.

You place the five TRANSPARENT OVERLAYS on top of each other. Obviously, the bottom ones start getting obscured by the top ones, but you can still see the 4 and 5 on the bottom of the stack.

The large amount of excitement and suspense you both currently hold makes you decide to completely ignore the FOOT-WRESTLING bit. Putting in this code is top-priority!

W...what? It...didn't work? As you confirm the PASSCODE, the KEYPAD gives its usual faint buzz and resets. What possible reason could there be for it not accepting your code?

Didn't you tell me your Magic 8-Ball said the passcode was divisible by 3? 17854 divided by 3 comes out to...5951 and a third, which isn't evenly divisible. There's something wrong here--what did we miss?

>> If "17854" fails, enter 178542, 178545, and 178548.

You enter try these three options too, but to no avail.

No no, I'm certain this has to be all the transparent overlays there are; we didn't miss anything in our search. Which means the passcode is 5 numbers--just not 17854.

>> Enter "12345" on the keypad.

You recall having tried 1234 a long time ago. That didn't work then, and this doesn't work now.

12345 is a multiple of 3, yeah, but that's not the passcode we're looking for. Hmm. The positions on the overlays have to mean something. We just have to reflect on this to figure out what we're missing.

While we're here, though, what's this thing over on the right? There's a circle depressed into the wall, with a couple of little blocks in the middle sticking out. Maybe it's a switch? I wonder if we can trigger it somehow...do you have anything round or cylindrical with something in the middle of it? Maybe it'd fit here.
