You are now TRENT EASTREAM, a LEVEL TWO MANAGER of the APEX MICROCHIPS CORPORATION. After discovering a SECRET EVIL PLAN, you have been in BURAM for the last two weeks to stop APEX and/or find out more information about what's going on. Your travels eventually led you to meet up with JIMMY, an old friend and fellow employee of APEX who shares your lust for stopping their PLANS, whatever they may be.

You are currently in BURAM CASTLE. JIMMY'S MINIATURE TROJAN HORSE, EPONA, has been lodged in a doorway that you just opened, and the two of you are about to venture deeper into the CASTLE.

>> Check orange keycard for any clues as to opening the keypad on the other door.
>> Analyze bar codes on bottom of keycards and combine to enter into the keypad.

The ORANGE KEYCARD is just like the red one, and thus there's no clues on it. Also, the black line is a MAGNETIC STRIP used for the KEYCARD READERS, not a BAR CODE.

>> Go through door.
>> Walk down corridor.
>> Stare in awe

You and JIMMY walk down to the end of the CORRIDOR and stare in awe at what you see. You turn to the right.

The right side of the hallway ends in a small room. There's an odd MACHINE in here, along with a TABLE and a DIGITAL DISPLAY on the back wall. You turn around.

The left side of the hallway opens into what seems to be the JAITIA REFINING AREA. Situated here are the CONVEYOR BELTS and JAITIA SMASHERS that JIMMY saw the previous night. Nothing is operating at the moment.

This large room continues further to the right with more stuff down at the end, but it's such a long CONVEYOR BELT that you can just about only see to the BIG RED FURNACE down there.

>> Trent: Attempt to ride Epona away to FREEDOM! If that doesn't work, just make a fool of yourself.

Yeah...you end up just making a fool of yourself after all. EPONA, as always, decides not to take you anywhere!

>> Trent: Ask JIMMY how he feels about having a companion
>> Jimmy: Tell TRENT about how you shoved your previous companion in a cup only to launch him into his own imminent doom. Then explain the actual tale.

JIMMY regales TRENT with the story of his CUP-DWELLING SPIDER COMPANION.

Wow, I...had no idea. That's actually fairly impressive...and quite sad, too...

You decide to check out your MENU TABS, since you haven't seen them before!

TRENT'S STATS TAB is rather dull and straightforward. He only has one SKILL, for crying out loud! He does have an ORANGE KEYCARD, though, which is more than you can say for JIMMY'S STATS.

TRENT'S INVENTORY TAB seems quite a bit different from JIMMY's. For starters, he has 7 INVENTORY SLOTS instead of JIMMY's 5--but he only has a single EQUIPMENT SLOT! It seems TRENT can't shoot and wear a HELMET at the same time, so to speak.

Besides that, TRENT'S INVENTORY currently holds his GUN from earlier, a SANTA HAT for some reason, and the WIRELESS RECEIVER that notified him of JIMMY's arrival in BURAM CASTLE in the first place (via the unseen TRIPWIRE by the front door.) The WIRELESS RECEIVER is fairly useless now.

His MAGIC TAB is interesting, too. He knows one MAGIC SPELL, FIRE, but doesn't have the MAGIC POINTS to cast it even when his meter is full. What a waste. It's like the beginning of Final Fantasy 9 or something.

Oh, JIMMY also recovered 1 MP, too. He now has 1 of 3 MP.
