For some unknown reason, I logged into Runevillage today to see how things were going. This used to be a place where I whiled away many hours of every day and enjoyed every minute of it. Many of you probably don't recognize me but thats OK, I don't recognize most of you either. It could be I just forgot of course, I happen to be old and don't see as well as I used to. Not as old as Hiker, but only the mountains can live that long.

I'm not surprised to see that the Village seems to be thriving, it has always been an excellent gathering place. To that, I say good job! to those of you that run the place these days. Your hours of effort show up through out the forums. Keep up the good work.

As the title says, I think I'm just passing through. I still have too many RL adventures going on to find the time to hang out much. I will check back in over the next few days to say hello to any old friends that happen by. Until then...Adios.

So, it seems gone is not always forgotten. I will guess there have been some name changes because I'm not sure if I remember some like Donut Juice (vaguely familiar but then again, I love donuts), theamericanidiot (again, vaguely familiar but I have always been impartial towards idiots), and Tanksandguns (not familiar but he claims thespianism so maybe he's in character or something). Jaron I remember. Henner, of course. I guess you must be like an adult now? Sorry for that I bet.

Applequest in Toronto. I think I knew that...big change from AZ, eh? A bit colder I believe. All settled down and making babies? I'm working on a project in Saskatchewan and sometimes end up flying through Toronto (if I have no other choice). The way flights are these days who knows when I will be stuck there overnight. Send me a PM with an email or whatever so I can get in touch. It's good to see you still around but I expected nothing less.

Zilla? Since when do they let girls post? I must have been gone too long. Things with me are semi-normal. My son just graduated and flew the coop. That puts a lot of strain on me to manage wifey's emotional needs - empty nest syndrome and all. I told her to start playing Runescape to take her mind off it, I thought she might level up Pacotaco since he has lain fallow for so long. I told her she could wear my party hats while she worked but she doesn't really grasp how great a thing that really is. Needless to say, she hasn't logged on. I know you have many years until your nest empties out but trust me, it is a tougher thing than you might guess. Even for a manly man like myself, it was difficult to see the last of my progeny pull out of the driveway with all of his stuff. I thought about turning his old room into a naked room (a la the father in the "Failure to Launch" movie) but wifey shot that down too fast. So how is your family? Last we talked you were finishing school, looking for the job of a lifetime...how is that going? Tell Mustangnut that I said hey.

The family is fine. I have a two year old who speaks like a 10 year old and says things like, "Bring me a glass of water please, Bridget." Well, at least she says please.

I finished my bachelor's degree last month and had an ok law firm job for the last 3 years until my jerk of a boss made it absolutely necessary for me to throw my key at him and walk out. So, I am currently looking for a new job.
Sorry to hear about your empty nest sufferings. I dread that but then again, I started so late I might be dead by then. Can't imagine why your wife doesn't see the value in wearing your party hat but I have to agree with her about the naked room. NO! North Carolina is not ready for that. The south is conservative, you know.

Mustang and I are still waiting for our dinner. *taps foot* Now you have a third person to feed.

About the convservatism of the South (don't forget to always capitalize important words)...we got some funny ways about that. If you can't get a concealed carry permit, it's OK to run around naked if you really need to carry a gun or knife (and who doesn't). Weird, huh? Inside your casa, they still let you wear what you want (or not) except during girl scout cookie season when you must be dressed to answer the door, by law.
