I'll try and keep it brief, but it's something I struggle with at times, as I'm sure you know.

Well, I joined the Runevillage Army on the 9th of September 2008, a time when Zulu squad ruled the waves with a good man called Rarius at the helm. That was a time when the army wasn't doing well, but with a good spread of friends, I joined up and bid to take the army into the prosperous future. I recruited like almost nobody, and probably double the army's active member count at the time. It was enjoyable, as you can imagine; I was surrounded by friends and we had a good time. Rarius' health took a turn for the worse, so he stepped down for Henry to take over. I, being the passionate new kid somehow happened to land myself with a lieutenant’s badge (for enthusiasm if nothing else, I imagine!), and it was only October! Anyway, my enthusiasm didn't waver as I lead the squad alongside Henry and Jimmybe, the squad went from strength to strength; but we never forgot why that was - we were friends, and we welcomed new people among us as part of the family. Anyway, as zulu squad grew, the rest of the army wasn't doing as well – in fact psi and alpha were struggling, and ds had already been axed. Don't get me wrong, I loved my time with zulu, but when nobody else would step up to run Psi, I felt someone had to - so I offered. In early march, I finished my exams, left zulu and took over Psi, again with much vigour on the recruiting front, until Psi was the strongest squad out their (albeit for a short while!), and the fullest too. These were good times, as I had the support of my friends. But, as they say, all good things come to an end. Many of you will have noticed that recently both my activity and enthusiasm have all but left me. Yes, the game has changed, but more importantly so have I. My friends have nearly all gone, so I feel it's my time to leave. Don't try to change my mind please, I've already made my choice, and it's for the best - I've got commitments in school, rugby, friends, family and much more (amongst other things I have to get my uni application sorted, I'm hoping to do vet. science, a pretty contested course...). So, almost exactly 6 months after I took over the squad, I'm resigning. (I'll see the month out, don't worry, I'm sure Deus will do a fantastic job in my place).
