Try Burzum, Iron Maiden, Amon Amarth, Iced Earth, Megadeth and Dio. None of them sound the same as each other, so that should be interesting for you :P.

Love trogster. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Rush has 18 studio albums and several live, Dream Theater has 9 studio and several live. That'll last you like forever and a half, not to mention their amazingness.

Do what I did. Bought two Warped Tour Compilations ('05 and '06) for $7.99 and $5.99 each. 50 songs on the '05 one, 51 on the '06 songs. You won't get a better deal anywhere else, and it introduces you to a looooot of bands.

The lack of Soundgarden makes me sad.

Anyways, here's a good list:

Alice in Chains, Audioslave, Bush, Foo Fighters, Live, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine, Shinedown, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Temple of the Dog.

Psht, metal isn't everything :P

Hmm, looking at my albums...

Evanescence (only the really early stuff like the EP's and 2001-2002 Demos; everything post 2002 is horrible)
Linkin Park
Rise Against (all of it)
Warped Tour 2006 Compilation
Warped Tour 2005 Compilation
The Academy Is...
Jimmy Eat World ("The Middle" is a good song)
Boys Like Girls ("The Great Escape is good")
Rage Against The Machine
American Hi-Fi (Check out "The Art of Losing")
The Beach Boys
Bush (Glycerine rocks)
Cara Dillon (Irish singer)
Chronic Future (Look at "New York, NY")
Eminem (again, early stuff is the best; he's actually one of the few good rappers out there)
Flogging Molly (oh hell yeah)
Goldfinger (check out "Superman)
Jack Johnson (all of it)
My Chemical Romance (it's either really good or really horrible; make your choice)
The Offspring (look for the CD "Ixnay on the Hombre")
Rancid (fun band to listen to)
Sugarcult
Sum 41
Relient K
Nelly (not that bad tbh)

On my Warped Tour Compilations, the bands/songs I'd recommend are...

- 2005 Compilation -
MxPx - The Darkest Places
The Academy Is... - Checkmarks
Rufio - Out Of Control
Amber Pacific - Gone So Young (fun to listen with the girlfriend <3)
The Unseen - Weapons of Mass Deception
A Wilhelm Scream - Me vs Morrissey in the Pretentiousness Contest (The Ladder Match)
Pennywise - Yell Out
Flogging Molly - Selfish Man (Live In L.A.)
Strike Anywhere - To The World
Millencolin - Ray
Halifax - Sydney
Bedouin Soundclash - Gyasi Went Home
Motion City Soundtrack - When You're Around
Strung Out - Analog
Tsunami Bomb - Being Alright

- 2006 Compilation -
Saves The Day - The End
Matchbook Romance - My Mannequin Can Dance
Flogging Molly - Laura
So They Say - Antidote for Irony
8 Fingers Down - Everything
Anti-Flag - No Future
The Casualties - Under Attack
Relient K - Which to Bury, Us Or The Hatchet?
Rise Against - Everchanging [Acoustic]
Motion City Soundtrack - When You're Around
Bedouin Soundclash - Rude Boy Don't Cry
The Academy Is... - The Phrase That Pays
Love Equals Death - Bombs Over Brooklyn
Crash Romeo - Actions Not Words
Good Riddance - Shame
Somerset - Rhyme Over Reason
Escape The Fate - Ransom
Every Time I Die - The New Black
The Scotch Greens - Professional
Set Me Off - The Expendables

But yeah... Compilatons like that are the best ways to find new music because of the bajillion artists they have on them, lol.

I noticed you already have music by 'The Postal Service' and assuming you like them, you may want to try 'Death Cab For Cutie' if you havn't already, same lead singer; Ben Gibbard - 'We looked like giants' is one of my favourite songs by them.

I, like yourself, like to listen to all different kinds of music and you may want to check out:

Tegan and Sara - back in your head
The Brascoes - She talks with her hands (if you can get hold of any of their songs) (They do have a myspace page)
Wreckless Erik - whole wide world (love this song)

Rise Against.

That's a start :p

Reel Big Fish and Flight of the Conchords. (Mostly) light hearted, fun songs. They'll get you in a good mood. :P

God is an Astronaut <3333

You have some pretty nice selections already, Azureus pointed out most of the artists I was going to put...do you like any form of techno/trance/turntablism? Try some DJ Craze or DJ Qbert
