Black and white looks so... uninteresting to me. Simply asking for an old color scheme doesn't mean things aren't "moving forward". The software for the Pub has been upgraded a number of times, but the theme has stayed the same. Nostalgia does have a value.

Then again, chat has never been a big thing for me, so I guess it doesn't affect me so much. Still, at least an older looking theme would be nice.

I agree. The color scheme itself is an overrated aspect to the chat room. The overall layout could be very bland with the same result as the previous chat held. It's all about it's functionality of the chat room, and the personalities in it. Take care of those two things and everything else will be fun.

People miss the old chat because of all the quotes, which were a HUGE part of RV history. Unfortunately, those are gone forever. lololol.

Anyway, I think this new chat will be just what everyone wants.

I'm hoping to return sometime next week. I've had some personal issues come up out of the blue, and it affected my home life a lot. Things have calmed down for now, but I still don't know where my position in it all is. Therefore I'm trying to keep myself free for when I may suddenly need it. Either way I should find out this week, one way or another.

Back to your questions on Chat. The Black is the default theme, as it's what I've been working with, however I will be introducing more themes (Heck the chat comes with about 30 of them...). The only thing is, that modifications sometimes require modifications to the skins too. Obviously the more themes, the more work. Therefore I'll be introducing chat with a single theme, with the intent of introducing more. i'll probably make a few samples and have a poll, sound good?

Sounds... Now, I haven't worked quite how the sounds in the current chat work. Therefore we don't have beeps at the moment. We have welcome sounds, bot sounds, etc, but no beeps. Also, for some reason, the sounds are not functional in Firefox 3.0.x. If this is a problem in Firefox, or the chat, I don't know, however it is being worked on. Sounds do function in Internet explorer, Firefox 2.x, Opera and Safari (however no extensive testing has been made for Opera and Safari).
