I come from the Net.
Through systems, peoples, and cities, to this place. Mainframe.
My format? Guardian. 'To Mend and Defend.' To defend my ne--

Bob's monologue was cut short as a loud, female voice interrupted him and the sky turned a deep shade of violet. A hole appeared in the sky as a large cube descended from it.

Warning: Incoming Game.
Warning: Incoming Game.

Image

This was what being a Guardian was all about--winning games. A lost game meant that an entire sector of the city would be destroyed and reduced to rubble. Just before the cube touched down on the ground, Bob got on a Zipboard and flew undernearth it, entering the game. What he didn't know was that Hexadecimal, the Queen of Chaos, entered the game as well from the opposite side.

~~~
Bob's first sight upon arriving in the game was the miniature castle directly ahead of him.
Image
The rest of the landscape, besides three other castle, was a rolling green hillside. "This should be interesting," Bob said, looking down at the keytool on his arm. "Glitch: Game Stats." The little blue device clicked and spinned, producing a readout for Bob.
GAME = Battlefield IX: The Game
FORMAT = Free-for-all Deathmatch
WIN CONDITION = Be the last contender left alive
WARNING! MULTIPLE USERS.
"Multiple users?!" Bob yelled out in shock. All of his previous game battles were always one-on-one. How in the Net could multiple users be in the same game? "This is bad," Bob said, looking straight ahead. "Very bad."
~~~

OOC: Welcome to Battlefield 9. The reference is from ReBoot, but you don't need to know any of that. First off, here's the field setup (apparently not to scale):

Image

Each grey dot represents one of these towers. They have cannons on top of them but they're not all that effective. Spawn where you wish. Here's a few ground rules, I guess.

  • No characters from BF6-BF8, I think it is.
  • Try to stay in character. Your person won't take a gunshot thinking it won't hurt, so neither should you make it.
  • No one-line or one-sentence posts, please. You can explain your motives in a post if you wish, because again, your opponent will have no idea of them.
  • No poison. Neo should not have died in BF7.
  • The 3-day rule worked well in BF7 and BF8, so it will go into effect eventually. The longer you can fight without giant several-day breaks, the longer I won't have to include it.
  • There's a restriction on familiars/helpers--keep it sensible. Bob has Glitch because he's nothing without it. That robot thing called in BF8 would probably be fine. But for example, Link can't have Epona or Midna because he doesn't need them at all. If you're confused on this one, just ask me for confirmation.
  • No Lego/Bionicle characters. Because if you're fighting sword-wielding humans and the only thing that can kill you is C4 or a giant rock, that's pretty much godmodding.
  • ...Oh yeah, no godmodding. I'm going to try to be as harsh a judge Pyro was. I reserve the right to alter your character or inflict damage, though I will strive to be as fair as possible in doing so if it must happen.

I think that's about it, I'll probably add a roster here as people join. BF7 had 17 people, BF8 had 7. So we'll see how it goes, I'm thinking 20 characters max or 4 pages, whichever comes first.

~~~
My character: Bob
From: ReBoot, TV show
Image
Bob's main directive is to protect others, but inside games that means winning them at any cost to prevent Mainframe's destruction. He is armed only with his wit and with Glitch, his Guardian Keytool connected to his wrist. Glitch is capable of nearly anything from information displays to transforming into nearly anything else, including a guitar or laser cannon. (No, you can't grab Glitch and destroy him, meanies. I know you were thinking it. :P)
~~~

BIC:

Bob looked around. He seemed to be on the northwest tower of four. "Well, the Game Stats don't look good. I guess it's time to see what I'll be equipped with for this. Reboot!" he said aloud, tapping his yellow icon twice. A purple cylinder surrounded him and shimmered before disappearing. Expecting to be a swordsman or commander in this game, Bob was shocked to see that nothing whatsoever had changed. Whatever this game was, it wanted him to play it--exactly as he was...

Name: Nnoitra Jiruga
Origin: Bleach
Appearance: Image
Abilities: Having the self-proclaimed toughest hierro (steel skin) of any Espada, past or present, Nnoitra can deflect serious attacks without any sign of injury.By touching his fingertip to the ground, Nnoitra can track and measure sources of spiritual power. He fires cero blasts from the tip of his tongue. His zanpakutō, Santa Teresa Spanish takes the form of a giant axe-like weapon bearing two crescent moon blades fused together at their backs with a large-looped chain connected to a ring at the knob of the shaft. Its release command is "pray". When released, Nnoitra gains two additional sets of arms, each wielding identical scythe-like blades produced from the folds of his wrists. He usually conceals the second set to surprise opponents. His hollow mask changes, looking torn and gaining jagged teeth. He also grows a pair of horns on his head, one longer on one side than the other, mimicking the cresent shape of his sealed zanpakutō. Nnoitra's wounds heal almost instantly in his released state (3 posts), and he can also regenerate severed limbs. (7 posts)
________________________________________

"Where am I, what is this place?" Nnoitra had just finished a fight with Kenpachi Zaraki, and believed himself killed. Suprised to find himself at the top of a tower in an unreleased state, he scanned the landscape below, then jumped down, landing with a large force of wind blowing in all directions from his spiritual pressure. He placed a finger on the ground, beginning to faintly feel other forces, though they were either really far away or really weak.

Ike

Image

Ike is a mercenary Trainee. He caries 5 items.

Ether(full heal with what has 3 uses. 1 if Jaron deems 3 as too much. I just figured I'm a human going against all of this other stuff I'll probably take a lot of damage.)

Steel sword.
Silver Sword.
Ragnell (Ike's sword in Brawl for those that don't know. It's a two-handed sword that he's able to weild almost as if it was a simple onehanded sword.)
Killing Edge (Sword that is slightly curved and powerful yet light enough for Ike to manuever it better than his other weapons.)

Jaron if you think any of this is too much then feel free to make it disappear when I appear. These are the things he had when I finished Path of Radiance so I just wanted to make it as if he came straight out of the game. I need all 3 swords though. Fire Emblem weapons have a durability on them and I intend to impliment it.

Ike's skills:

Miracle: Cuts a fatal blow in half. If Ike is weak enough that half of the blow is enough to kill him it will do so. It only halves what is dealt. Not what is recieved. An example: I have 60 health and someone attacks me with an attack that does 100. I get 50 damage instead because it would have killed me. now if that person did an attack that was 100 and my health was only say 30 then the 50 damage dealt is still enough to kill me and I would die. However there is no life bar in here so we'll see how it works out.

Aether: Ike's signature move in Brawl and in Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn.

"Use: A combination two-hit attack. The first is a Sol, which restores
HP equal to the amount of damage dealt, the second hit is a Luna, which
reduces enemy Def by half."

Ike will be unable to use Aether as a trainee. If he promotes to lord he is able to use Aether. As well as his sword Ragnell.

Ragnell has fire attributes when using Aether and when using an attack called eruption in which Ike stabs the ground and fire erupts from it. Eruption harms Ike as well as the people near him.

BIC:

Ike lands on the ground and rolls to his feet. He checks himself to make sure that his equipment is still there.

"All here... looks like my vulnerary leaked a bit though..."

Ike looks around and notices that his comrades are all missing.

"I'm alone... I guess I'll just have to rely on what I brought with me and my own skills... It'd sure help if I was any good with this sword..." He eyes Ragnell and frowns.

"It's the only blade I can use to cut that armor... but I can barely even weild it... hopefully I won't need it here."

OOC: Yay, it's here :)

Hope I'll be able to post more in this one...
Anyway, time for my character.

And I'm assuming the black lines on the maps are walls?

Also, as a reminder, I'm the host for BF10.

Image
Name: Darth Vader
Weapon: Lightsaber
Abilities:
Force Absorb: One of Vader's talents in the Force is to be able to block blaster bolts with his hands, completely dissipating the energy, turning it into raw Force power that he could use.
Force Choke: Force Choke is used to telekinetically "grip" one or more of the target's internal organs and apply pressure. However, the target was not lifted or moved about. The area affected was typically the target's neck. It caused immobilization and choking, which with prolonged focus, could lead to death.
Telekinesis: Because of his decreased mobility, he was at a disadvantage when dueling against beings using faster and quicker combat styles. To counter fast-moving opponents, he would use the Force to pull out anything from his surroundings that wasn't nailed to the ground and fling the improvised missiles at his opponent. Without moving a muscle, anything from the venue of the battle could be used as a weapon to crash against Vader's opponents from all directions in a never-ending barrage.

Vader is also a master at lightsaber combat.

IC: "It seems I have been transported to another planet. Interesting..." Vader said, after he awoke on a large, grassy plain. He noticed a small building not too far away, and chose to walk towards it, to find a means to get back in contact with the Empire.

Alright guys, time's up. Let's do this.

LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOY, JENKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINSSS

Name: Red Mage (Statscowski?)
Origin: 8-bit Theater
Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_Warr ... 9#Red_Mage
Appearence: Image
Abilities: Red Mage is the most versatile of the Light Warriors, and always strives to be THE most versatile in the world. He has the ability to change his stats using his stat sheet, and in order to take damage, must record it on said sheet. Once, he avoided a fatal blow simply by being unable to reach his sheet at that time to record the damage. Red Mage can cast both White and Black Magic, specificly Ice spells for the latter, including the powerful Ice-9, with the ability to freeze an entire universe. He also has a sword for physical combat. When Red Mage class-changed to a Mime, he gained the ability to copy moves that he comrades perform. With Jaron's permission, he also can copy moves his enemies performs as well. Red Mage can summon the Armoire of Invicibilty, a wardrobe that is completely invicible, except for its brittle plywood bottom. Also, for emergencies, Red Mage has a bottle of Febreeze.
Personality: Read the wiki...
______________________________
IC: Red Mage appeared in the middle of a large grassy plain. Far, far off in the distance, he could make out four towers, one in each direction. "Where am I? Better put some points in speed and check this place out..." Red Mage said, pulling out his stat sheet and erasing some more points in INT and moving them to SPD. Now a bit faster, Red Mage started wandering around.

EDIT: OOC: Unless someone else has already called it, I call BFXI. If it's taken, BFXII.

Name: Tanis
Appearance: Image

Powers:
Telekinetic: Tanis welds powerful telekinetic powers (in one episode, he was able to throw a full-grown Talaxian across Voyager’s mess hall almost effortlessly)
Also, Tanis has the ability to control the temperature of substances, although it takes a few seconds (one post) to activate.
He also has an “area of effect” attack in which he converts all the life in a small area into energy, killing it instantly. It takes time (roughly 2 posts) to activate.
Also, he can use his mind to “scan” a target.

IC:
Tanis awoke, feeling rather dizzy from traveling through subspace. Shaking his head to clear it, he looked around him. He was standing in a green field. There was a crude tower to the south-west, and trees and bushes were scattered all over the field. He noticed that there was a human in black armor heading toward the tower. Not seeing anyone else around, he headed toward the man.

Character: Kit Fisto

Appearance:
Image

Abilities:

Wields lightsaber. He can perform the basic force moves, push/pull/higher jump, etc. His species, the Nautiloid, have an acute sense of smell that they use to detect the emotions of those around them.

BIC: A ship descended down onto the battlefield, having seemingly materialized from nowhere, coming to land in a remote part of the area on the southwest section. The ramp descended, letting Kit Fisto out of the ship. As he looked around the area, he keyed something into a small datapad from his pocket, making the ship lift back into space. "I wonder why I was sent here," he said to himself. He noticed a small, crude castle near him, and seeing nothing else around him, he began to walk towards it, storing the datapad in his pocket as he walked.

OOC: I choose,

Greil

Here's a Pic, he's the blurry dude in the front.

Hidden:
Image

Greil is Ike's father, and the founder of the Greil Mercenaries. He was once known as General Gawain, one of Daein's 'Four Riders' (the four knights who are closest to Daein's King Ashnard in strength), but fled his homeland with his wife, Elena, after she was entrusted with Lehran's Medallion by Reyson and Leanne's older sister. However, one day, Greil made the mistake of taking hold of the medallion, and immediately went insane. I am using Greil with an Unbreakable Regal sword, and Lehran's Medallion.

BIC: Greil ran at the black knight, and suddenly was teleported somewhere. A word flashed before his eyes. It said, "Game". When his eyes cleared, he saw he was in a field with four towers far away. He started walking, and felt his feet hit something. He bent down, without looking, and picked the thing up. Then, he went insane. He was in an unstoppable rage. As he looked around, he saw in the distance some people. Shouting at the top of his lungs, he started running towards them.

OOC: I started in the bottom left corner.

'Bout time. I really hope I don't get killed by a suicide this time around.
I'll choose Uryu Ishida. He was going to be my pick for BF...6, was it? Now that he's available, he's entering.
Uryu Ishida
Sorry, no picture. I couldn't find one of him in the Hueco Mundo (did I spell that right?) arc, and that's what I'll be using.
A very in-depth description can be found here, so I'm not going to re-iterate it here.
BIC: As he traveled through the tunnel similar to that between the living world and Hueco Mundo, Ishida was wondering many things. One was why he was pulled into the tunnel, another was where the tunnel lead, and the third was who or what was behind this. The second was answered as he fell out near a large tower. Using Hirenkyaku, he teleported to the top of the tower and looked out as his surroundings. He saw three other towers arranged in a round square. In the center he saw three of what he guessed were people, and another figure on top of the tower opposite him. However, in front of the tower south of him he saw what looked like an Arrancar. Taking aim, he shot an arrow at the Arrancar, trying to draw it toward him.
OOC: I'm assuming he can shoot that far, but it's got little chance of hitting. It's one of those "Look, I'm over here" shots designed to draw the enemy close. Speed-wise, I'll probably have one more post before Juruga arrives at the tower.

Nnoitora had been sitting at his spot for another few minutes, when he suddenly felt a mild force of reaitsu appear. He remembered this as being one of the invaders into Hueco Mundo, though he didn't compare to Ichigo then or now. Sensing the arrow coming, he simply allowed it to bounce off of his skin, sending it into the castle wall before dissipating. He then used Sonido, heading for the Quincy.

OOC: I'm going to weaken him down drastically for this fight, but you're still pretty much screwed.

why do you feel the need to post in a battlefield once and make no contribution every time?

1. Every time? In other words, this isn't my first time?
2. I was merely stating the fact.

No it is not your first time.

Also the "fact" you stated was very irrelevent. I was well aware that Ike could mean a multitude of people. "now to get a bunch of info on him" clearly states that I was gathering information on him. Would I just keep this information to myself? no. Battlefield rules state that I must present the information. I only stated who I was going to be to keep someone else from claiming him.

It's against the rules of this forum to post in a roleplay that you are not a part of if I am not mistaken. If you are not participating then you should leave us be.

BIC:

Ike heard a loud roar in the distance.

"Father? Could it be?"

In the distance he spotted a strange green man (Kit) and a large man with a cape... but he was weilding a sword... as long as Ike could remember his father had only used an Axe unless he was in training... but it was still possible.

Ike ran towards his fathers image. He didn't know who this green man was but maybe he would leave him alone while he ran to his father. If not he was ready.

"Damn that Natsu."

Image

Of course, that idiot had gone off and stolen another mission from the second floor. Since Erza was off on a mission alone, Gray had decided to take it upon himself to retrieve Natsu. Again.

His search had taken him to a large grassy area, dotted with four stout towers. This IS where the mission was to take place. Apparently the request sheet merely stated that there was a game to be played, with a large reward. And of course, Natsu took the bait like a fish. Now to find the Fuzzy Bunny.

OOC: Me leaving the site does not apply to Battlefields. <3. And it's Nnoitra Jiruga, not Juruga.

I deleted the three posts that didn't really have anything to do with the battlefield.

10 characters already, wow. I drew up a list in MSWord that I hope to keep updated so at least I know how far along we are. Crafty's listed as ? for now because I thought your entry seemed odd or you're associating with someone else or something. :P

Bob saw other people appearing around the field. What would be the best plan of action? Rushing in as usual, or laying low for a little bit and coming up with a plan? Dang it, it was always Dot who made the plans, and here where Bob needed her most...this wasn't going to end well.

"Glitch, show me the Users gathered here so far," Bob said, raising his arm and looking at his keytool. Glitch clicked and whirred on Bob's wrist before producing the following output:

Hrm. I'll do it in Print Preview mode or something next time to get rid of the spellcheck lines...

"S-Rank Mission: The Battlefield" Natsu said as he looked at the paper in his hand which Happy had stolen from the top floor. Again. Makarov was going to kill him, but if he won, than that didn't matter right?"

Character: Natsu Dragonil
Picture:

Natsu can produce fire from different parts of his body, such as his hand or feet enhancing the power of his already extremely powerful physical attacks(He's destroyed foundations below an island). He can eat any fire but his own, which gives him energy and vitality. Natsu has incredible stamina (he's been knocked through fortresses 3 floors down and gotten up without thinking twice, and he's taken a bullet to the jaw with no injury). Natsu can also produce massive amounts of fire just around his body, such as tornadoes and the like. :D His power increases with his emotions, hence if he gets passionate or angry then you'll see exactly what a master of the "Dragon Slayer" style can do. ;) Oh yes, he has quite acute senses as well.

Vader, detecting a presence near him, turned around to see a man with a grey vest. "You. Where is the nearest space port on this planet?" He demanded, while he reached for his lightsaber. "If you help me now, the Empire shall reward you greatly."

OOC: To Azn and Crafty, what manga are those characters from, seems pretty interesting :P

What if you're getting changed or something and they just barge in, saying "I OWN THE HOUSE, I OWN YOU. DINNER'S READY." ...doesn't seem very fair to me :?

I'll be Darth Vader's secret apprentice...

Name: (Unknown) Secret Apprentice

Appearance:

Abilities:
The secret apprentice was powerful enough to pull an entire Star Destroyer out of the sky and send it crashing on the surface of a planet.[1]. He was also very proficient with Force powers such as Force lightning, Force push, and Force repulse. He also uses his lightsaber but is not very proficient with it.

Bio:
Darth Vader spent years training the young Human in the ways of the dark side in secret, even from his own master, Palpatine. When Vader deemed his training complete, he sent his apprentice on a series of trials to destroy his enemies. When those trials were complete, Vader finally sent him on a mission to hunt down a single rogue Jedi. Vader hoped that this mission would deem him ready to stand with him to confront and destroy Palpatine.

Skilled with telekinesis and Force lightning, he was a Sith apprentice in all but name. The Rule of Two prevented him from becoming the official apprentice, as Vader himself occupied that position. This made Vader's apprentice officially nothing more than a Dark Jedi. His existence was meant to be kept a secret, so he would make a point of leaving few witnesses to his work, going as far as eliminating Imperial stormtroopers who saw him in action.

BIC:
The apprentice woke up, he was sweating, he hadn't slept last night... He looked around, he saw a green field all around him and a tower made out of stone to the north...
He looked in the distance, a man in a black suit was standing there, "Master?" he muttered to himself, "no... it can't be, master is back in coruscant..." He began to stumble toward him, maybe he had seen Juno or PROXY around, he had to get out of here...

As he approached the human in black armor, Tanis heard it say something about “Where is the nearest space port on this planet? If you help me now, the Empire shall reward you greatly.”
“I have just arrived here, so I do not know anything about this planet.” Tanis replied.
He noticed the human reaching for a device on its belt, which Tanis assumed was a weapon. Reaching out with his mind, he scanned the weapon. It’s power cell was small, and it carried a lot less energy than most weapons he had seen. As a precaution, he began heating the weapon’s handle.

Red Mage spotted a few people, and lay down in the grass. It didn't hide him too well, but no-one would likely notice him unless they for some reason lost all attention to what they were doing.

Red Mage could see a man in a gray vest, a man in dark armour, both about twenty feet ahead of him, and someone in the distance running for them. "I'll just lay low for a while..." he whispered to himself. Of course, he was the most versatile and therefore most powerful of all who existed, but still... Red Mage almost hit himself for 'underestimating' his own 'power'.
