Hello, everyone.

Recently, my life has gone downhill; I'm depressed, tired, and somewhat sick of life. I've been having such bad insomnia it's hard for me to sleep, and I cannot deal with the stress I'm faced with. My teacher flunked one of my assignments in order to give me a B+ in his class (he is that evil), and it has ruined my 4.0 unweighted GPA, and maybe even my chance to get into MIT. My parents are yelling at me while they're drunk, my mother tried to hit me with a baseball bat, and I just am fed up with it. I'm trying to find a place to go, but chances are I'll be sleeping in my Volvo stationwagon tonight. I'm not sure when I'll be back.

I'll probably be leaving in an hour, after I pack my valuables, so my parents don't try and appropriate them while I'm trying to get rid of this stress.

I'm really sorry to hear that, DragonFire. I actually had a teacher do that to me once, but it was in 7th grade, so it didn't actually affect my high school GPA. I can only imagine how angry I would be if it did, though.

That's a tough family situation, to be sure. I hope things get better and cool off, but don't get sick of life. There will always be moments in the future, great times you'll be able to look forward to. Although it's not much consolation, things could always be worse--there are tornadoes around my area tonight, at least you're not outside in a car in that.

Best of luck on your situation; we'll always be here when you're able to return.

That all sounds simply horrid Dragon. Don't worry about RV for now, we can take care of ourselves. Focus on the real world for a bit to try to improve your situation there.

I can't think of much more to say to be honest. Of course you should focus on improving your family situation...but when it's got to the stage where you're being beaten I wouldn't know what to do. The best option I can think of is the police, but without knowing the intricacies of your family situation I'd be loath to suggest it.

The other issues, while not to be discounted, are secondary issues (at least in my opinion); secondary in that righting the family situation is the crucial thing to do. Teachers can be a right old pain...it's a fact of life at school. If he deliberately marked you down, you could try appealing to the principal. I've never experienced insomnia, but surely in this day and age they have some effective medication for it?

There I go...spouting out obvious and unnecessary advice...but I felt I should say something. I'll keep you in mind Dragon, and hope to hear from you sometime in the not too distant future.

Anyway, get your life sorted out, explain the situation with your parents and appeal your grade with your principal. Get things sorted and remember we're always here

Wow, Dragon. I'm really sorry to hear about these things happening to you.

I do believe you are a good person and do not deserve this. If you do go out on your own, please be careful. Do you have a close friend you could stay with for a while?

As for the teacher flunking you, you should have that appealed with the department he is in right away so that you can get that A especially if it affects your perfect 4.0 GPA.

If you ever do need someone to talk to, you have almost the whole village, if not all, that will be more than happy to listen. Please let us know how you are doing once in a while.

Dragon, I open heartedly wish the best for you. It's evident you don't deserve what's coming at you, and it's a darn shame you're getting this. Maybe escaping from it all for awhile is better, but just make sure you've thought through all your options.

Stay safe, you'll be in my prayers, it would be great if you could check in from time to time, to make certain we know how you're doing.

I'm at a friend's house right now, just getting online to see how things are on RuneVillage.

So far, I have a stable situation. I'm staying with a friend in town, and I have ample monetary resources from recent work. My parents disabled my credit card, so I have to pay my own gas again, so I can just walk places now, instead of driving.

I appreciate everyone's support.

About your marks:

If you feel the teacher is biased against you, talk to your head of department and get it straightened out.. If that doesn't work, talk to the VP and move your way up until you get some sort of answer as to why your teacher is giving you a mark that doesn't reflect the amount of work and effort you've put into your assignments. My friend did exactly that and he had 10% added to his mark... Don't take no for an answer.. just keep fighting it if you believe you've been unfairly evaluated.

Anyways, keep us updated as to what is happening... Good luck, man. Good to know you've got a place to stay for a while..

It's good to see that you're safe. I know how it feels with the teacher situation, I was in the same one. I just went and talked to the principal about it. As for your parents, I hope everything turns out ok.

UPDATE:

I'm still staying at my friend's house, but I managed to drive home and get my computer while my parents were sleeping. I can now do my work from here. My friend would not accept money for letting me stay with her, so I promised to cook dinner every night (my cooking is vastly superior to hers, she says).

The grade cannot be overturned. He is the head of the department, it turns out, and is stubborn. The principal wouldn't override it either, since he's new and didn't know that the teacher had tendencies against the higher-end students. Oh well...

You might see me on more often now.

Keep going up,and make as much noise as you possibly can. Question the guy's qualifications, his ability to mark, anything. If he's so stubborn, I'd 100% make it hell for him. I know one guy in 8th grade who got his parents involved as well, but that may be a problem for you...

Parents ALWAYS make things better... They had a formal interview and everything, really intense stuff.. The teacher hated him afterwards, but he graduated for grade 9 anyways.

Well, I even went to the school district to try and get my grade changed, and it didn't work; I have no choice but to accept it.

Regarding my parents, I'm still at a friend's place, which as long as I pay part of the rent for her, she'll let me stay. I also went in with her on some faster internet.

My parents know that I'm at a friend's house, and I told them I wasn't coming back until school was over so I don't have to deal with their stress. They don't know where my friend lives, but they aren't going to call the cops since I'm almost 18 and I can make my own decisions.
