has anyone seen the previews for this? i kind of like/hate how they keep it sort of mysterious...it makes you want to see the movie so you know whats going on....its gonna be like a normal person is shooting it through their camera..like a documentary of what happened..

heres a link to the site with a trailer http://www.cloverfieldmovie.com/

Couple months ago, there was tons of hype for it. It was amazing. Mostly cause they didn't release a title for it, it was just called "1-18-08".

Hmm, that's probably why people even MAKE movie trailers! To make you want to see the movie.

Hope it's not a gorefest so it's PG-13 - then again, it doesn't look like it. Then again, these types of "realistic" shaky camera kind of movies will probably have tons of language in them to make it realistic. Whatever, if it's R, I'll just sneak in.

What I hate most about the mysteriousness of this movie is that they've made it to seem absolutely amazing, and I'm almost certain that it's going to be an anti-climax when I finally get to go and see it.

It's made by JJ Abrams, can't be that bad.

Oh no I wasn't saying it was going to be bad at all, but I don't think it can ever be as good as the hype has made it seem.

Hmm.. Looks pretty cool.

I hope it's not gonna be that "shake the camera around so much that it makes the auidence puke" kinda thing like the blair witch project.

Bourne Ultimatum maybe some critics puke/be nauseous, and that wasn't even meant to be an actual handheld camera thing. That movie just had a shaky cam to make it seem more realistic.

So, most likely don't go see this movie if you have motion sickness.

On the previews it says it's PG-13, which I guess is kinda good kinda bad. PG-13 usually means it's pretty limited with the suspense and violence they can put in, but it also means they can put that much unnecessary violence in it.

Why would PG-13 limit the amount of suspense? Violence, language, I understand, but suspense isn't anything that'll traumatize your children.

Well, theoretically, it shouldn't. I just can't remember the last PG-13 movie I saw that was relatively scary/suspenseful.

1408. Genuinely creepy movie. And to a lesser extent, Disturbia (it had its share of cheap parts that made you jump).

I shall be enjoying this.

:D And yes, i have been waiting for this since i saw transformers way back when.. then again in canada :|

/drool

heard about the movie title on the radio, very pleased they released a title etc.

Although, watching the movie trailer, about 4/6ths of the way through, a girl behind a cover with two hazmat suits, expands. and the camera cuts out. huh?

It looks great, but does anyone know what the heck it's about? All the trailers tell you is some explosion and the head of the Statue of Liberty comes flying at a car.

That said, it still looks tight.

edit- just saw the little clip on the movie's main site. Wow.
