Chapter 4

Daran arrived in Lumbrige just in time to see a small group of people in adamite full helms and air staffs teleporting out. “Teleblock” he yelled, casting a powerful spell that stopped all teleports. One of the adamite-helmeted people froze, and then collapsed as the rest vanished in a flash of purple light. “What happened here?!” Daran asked, looking around. The courtyard was abandoned, the gate was down, and all the guards were dead. He faintly heard a weak moan coming from the direction of the castle.
Walking toward the noise he discovered a mage leaning against the wall with three bolts sticking out her arm. She had several bad burns on that arm, and Daran quickly guessed that at least one of the bolts was a dragon fire bolt. There was an orange fluid on one of the bolts, and he guessed that it had been poisoned. Daran once again paused for a second to think- she had obviously been attacked by the autoers. If she was the only survivor, that meant she had invaluable information about why the autoers had conducted this raid, and what their goals with it were. If she died, that information would be lost.
Quickly, he grabbed an anti-poison out of his backpack and poured about a third of it down her throat. Grabbing her hand, he pulled out his ComOrb. “Savant! Teleport me to the castle NOW! It’s an emergency!”
“This is the emergency ComOrb teleport system. Please state your destination.”
“Temple knight castle, emergency healing room” Daran replied.
“Request received. Please state when you are ready.”
The thought occurred to Daran that the adamite-helmeted person he had teleblocked might need help also. Running over to the person, Daran grabbed them by their cloak and tried to drag them over to the mage, but discovered that they were far too heavy for him to move. Quickly, he ran over to the mage, and dragged her over to where the adamite-helmeted person was. Setting his ComOrb on the ground, he grabbed each person by the hand. “Now” he said, and the landscape around them changed.

As soon as they appeared inside the castle, they were swarmed by temple knights. Daran had an interesting time convincing them that he wasn’t injured, but in the end he succeeded and managed to get safely out the door.

Hmm, interesting story =) Can I be... the leader of the autoers? :twisted:

And if not, just a simple non-autoer spy for them? Yay, antagonism =D

Portrait him as a mage wielding a Rubber Chicken and a Bobble Hat, by the way. oh, and he HATES it when he loses his hat ;P

I finally found enough time to finish editing chapter 5.

Chapter 5

Daran didn’t know his way around the Temple knight castle and, twenty minutes after he arrived at the castle, he wandered into the communications center, completely lost.

“What are you doing back here?” Savant asked.
“Getting lost.” Daran replied.
“That doesn’t explain why you’re in the castle.”
“I found two people who were injured by- whatever happened in Lumbrige, and brought them here for help.”
“That was kind of you. However, it would be wise of you to return to Lumbrige before all the people wandering around there and trying to find out what happened destroy all the evidence.”
“I am trying to get back there, but I can’t find the portal chamber, and I’m out of earth rune….”
“Teleother Lumbrige.”

The instant he appeared in Lumbrige, Daran noticed the large crowd of people milling around, acting bewildered. He asked several of them, but no one knew what had happened there. Many of them said the castle had been attacked by a raiding party, but no one knew what country it had come from.
Wandering up to the door of the keep, Daran noticed that the door was blocked, and a small tree had been thrown against it, further blocking the door. After surveying the scene for a minute, Daran pulled out some runes. “Fire bolt” he stated, unleashing a powerful blast that destroyed the door and set the tree on fire. He noticed that the floor above had fallen down, blocking the door. It took a lot of careful crawling over the rock and pieces of wood, and once or twice he managed to get his robes stuck on a bent nail, And once or twice he had to use an “air bolt” to blast larger pieces of floor out of his way, but in the end he got over the blockade relatively uninjured. The stairs were intact, but the kitchen had been ransacked.
Carefully, Daran climbed to the top level, where a scene of destruction met his eyes. There were a few dead bodies strewn about, the bank booth had been smashed, there was a runeite axe and some arrows imbedded in the wall, and a section of the bank wall had been blown out. There were bits of yew and black dragonhide strewn about the floor, as well as a few nails and an iron throwing knife. The bank tutor was dead, killed by what appeared to be a runeite javelin. Stepping over an overturned table, Daran stepped on a lose piece of paper and went flying. “Ouch!” he said getting up and grabbing the piece of paper. He instantly stopped, staring at the paper in shock. It was a list of names, with a check mark next to most of them. He stowed it in his pocket and continued his search.

Name: James

Appearence: James wears black robes, and has short, silver-gray hair, with blue eyes. Standing at around 5 Feet Tall, he wears a amulet that looks like a silver crown. He wields a crossbow-like weapon called the 'RAB2000' that has been seen to delete some of the lesser autoers with one shot. It appears to have unlimited ammo, but fires rather slowly. To increase his speed, he wears light blue 'Boots of Lightness'

Abilities: James has great skill with his RAB, being able to hit nearly every target he fires at. His light robes and boots allow him to move around without anything heavy holding him back, but they leave him rather vulnerable from attack. He knows a few kicks he can use in the case the RAB becomes unusable or un-ideal for the battle at hand.

Tahu- *realizes I had this chapter finished and forgot to post it* :oops:

Top- your character is fine, but the “RAB2000” would mess up the plot of my story. Could I replace it with a rune crossbow?

Chapter 6

An hour later, he had found nothing interesting except the piece of paper. He pulled out his ComOrb and switched it on.
“Hello” Daran said.
“Hi- I was just about to call you.” Savant replied “We have an update- we got a report of a group of autoers buying 5 thousand black dragonhides and carrying them into the wilderness”
“What would they need with that many dragon hides?”
“I don’t know.”
“We also got a report of them buying 10 thousand rune nails.”
“They are definitely building something.”
“That’s my conclusion too.”
“Well, I’m finished investigating here. What should I do now?”
“I have no clue. You might want to research autoers, and you might want to see if you can watch the recording we made of the incident”
“Watching the recording sounds like a good idea. Can you teleport me to…”
“Teleporting”

Daran appeared in the temple knight’s library, looking confused. “I wish she wouldn’t do that constantly!” he exclaimed.
“Do what constantly?” the librarian asked.
“Teleport me without warning me!” Daran stated.
“Oh”
“Do you have the recording of the autoer incident in Lumbrige an hour ago?”
“It’s here – somewhere. The abyssal transmitter of the recording device is malfunctioning, and dumping the recording orbs all over the place.” The librarian replied.

Fifteen minutes later, Daran found the recording, sitting behind the recording of an autoer chopping yew trees. “Here it is!” he exclaimed, sitting it on the table. “Good! I was beginning to think we’d never find it!” The librarian commented, walking back to his desk and sitting down.
Daran set the recording down on a table, sat down in a chair, and, placing his hand on the recording orb, beginning to view the recording.
Daran saw was a normal day in Lumbrige. Suddenly, a group of people in green dragonhide with adamite full helms appeared in a flash of purple. Daran instantly recognized them as autoers, the type that normally fought green dragons. Amongst them were three strange autoers, clad in black dragonhide. One carried a bow that Daran couldn’t recognize, another carried a magic shortbow, and the third had a runeite crossbow and a draonfire shield. As he watched, the one with the strange bow stepped forward and spoke to a group of people. Whatever he said must have aggravated them because in a moment, arrows, swords, and fire blasts were flying.
“Hey! You can’t brin…”the librarian yelled, followed by a tremendous crash. Daran yanked his hand away, coming back to the waking world just as a white halberd swept through the air, through the recording orb, and through the table.

Nice chapter, and sure about the crossbow. I was just making my guy sort of a... player mod type person, hence the silver-crown necklace.

Tahu is probably wishing right about now that he'd brought his own Comorb...

Well, I finally found time to finish chapter 7. My college classes are taking up most of my time, so I don’t have much time to write.

Tahu- there will be quite a few Pmods (and a Jmod) turning up in one of the next chapters. Thankfully, Tahu didn’t bring his Comorb...

Stip-your character turns up in this chapter.

Chapter 7

Daran tried to stand up, but the handle of the halberd hit him in the face and he fell backwards, tripping over his chair and falling. The person welding the halberd raised it over their head preparing to finish Daran off. “We are an autoer. Your useless attempt to stop us was futile. You will die.” it stated. “Telegrab!” a voice shouted. The autoer’s plate armor pulled it backwards, just as the halberd crashed to the floor, an inch from Daran’s head. The autoer released the halberd and pulled out a weapon Daran recognized as a bone crossbow. It fired one purple-shrouded bolt at whoever was standing in the doorway. There was a “thud” as whoever it was collapsed. The autoer spun back around- and strait into two of Daran’s rune arrows. One of the arrows bounced off the armor, but the other went partway through its left arm. The autoer, seemingly unaffected by the arrows, seized its halberd and yanked it out of the floor. “You will die. Your items will help us greatly.” It stated, swinging the halberd at Daran’s head. Daran ducked and pulled out his rune throwing axe. The autoer kicked Daran in the head, causing him to fall backwards. The world spun wildly as Daran crashed to the floor. Weakly, he realized that something was flying toward him. He weakly tried to throw the axe at the autoer. There was a “clunk” and something struck the floor an inch from his head, throwing pieces of wood everywhere. He heard someone yelling something that sounded like “report” but he couldn’t hear right. Then everything went black.

Slowly, Tahu awoke. His head hurt, his arm hurt, and he felt sick. He slowly opened his eyes and looked around him. He was lying on a cot in a large room. The walls were white stone, with a wood door at one end. People in white robes were rushing about, talking excitedly.
“An autoer? In the castle?” “I heard she used “report” to stop it.” “Report!? Isn’t that dangerous?” “I heard that “report” can backfire and kill you!” “A friend of mine used “Report” and it backfired and killed him.”

These comments were interrupted by a horrible-sounding noise. Turning his head to the right, he saw the cot beside him. The young man lying on it looked like he had tangled with a mad TzHaar. From his shredded gear, Tahu guessed he was an archer-wizard, one of the ones that spent most of their time shooting at archery targets and alching bows they had fletched. Turning his head the other direction, he noticed Savant was on the next cot. She looked horrible. There was blood all over her arm, and her face had the pale color associated with someone who has just thrown up. Beyond that, some mage Tahu couldn’t recognize was sitting up and staring at him. She tried to yell something, but started coughing and had to lie back down.

Suddenly, Tahu heard a yell of “It’s awake! Activate cage!” Suddenly, rings of energy appeared around Tahu’s cot, trapping him in place. Every weapon in the room was suddenly pointed at him.

Meanwhile, in Lumbrige, a small, dark shape drifted through the night, the only noise the throb of its tiny power supply. It was small, smaller than some of the tiny cottages it passed over. It was coated in a tough black leather-like material that served as its armor, and also to shield it from unfriendly eyes. Inside it, Stip45 walked down the hallway leading from his quarters to the command deck of his machine. It wasn’t as efficient as some of his bigger ships, but this mission required stealth, and this was the only ship he had that was equipped for stealth. He walked past dozens of autoers, mostly ones designed to fight dragons in the wilderness. They were all equipped with rune axes and other gear for woodcutting.
As he walked past, he ordered one of the autoers to stop what it was doing and follow him to the command deck. The autoer stopped and strode after him up the ramp.
The command deck was a small room, with barely enough room for all the controls. As Stip sank into his chair at the center of the room, he noted that there were only two autoers in the room. One stood at the engine controls, the other at the navigational control. “Are we in position?” he asked.
“We have activated the stealth engine and await your command.” An autoer replied.
“Activate engine.”

The machine vanished in a flash of purple light, re-appearing over a small village. Slowly and silently, it sank out of sight among the trees. The small group of autoers gathered there quickly climbed aboard the machine, as another group climbed out and quickly set to work chopping trees. However, any good woodcutter could tell this new group of autoers had no skill at woodcutting. Stip, who was standing on the bridge, smiled. Soon, there would be far fewer people trying to oppose him. “And, hopefully, there will be a few less Jmods as well.” He thought to himself, as his machine rose and headed north, towards its home base.

I wish to be in the story. My character, Rat611, (read the hidden content in my sig, +my sig fully), Wears rune plate and legs, a grey wizards hat, ice gloves, boots of lightness, a spotted cape, and weilds a dragon battle axe. If you could, put him in as a good guy somewhere, Mainly just walking around.

Good chappy, and since you plan on including Pmods and Jmods anyways, can my character be a Pmod, and keep the RAB2000? (RAB stands for Report Abuse Button btw)

Unfortunately, I don’t have chapter 8 finished yet. Too much college work.

Top-a major part of my plot depends on “report abuse” being a spell, not a projectile.

Rat- I will include your character.

Tahu-Yes, Tahu still has his crossbow.

Alright, can he still be a Pmod, with the Report Abuse spell, which he can enchant his bolts with or something? Or just have a rune crossbow with normal bolts, your choice I guess.

I have been really busy with my college work, so I haven’t had much time to write.

Chapter 8

Tahu struggled to sit up, but the energy cage held him fast, and he eventually gave up. “What’s all this about? Why am I trapped?” he asked. “Should we answer it?” someone asked. “I don’t see how it would hurt” another voice stated. “Where am I?” Tahu asked. “In the temple knight castle” the voice replied.
“What happened? The last thing I remember is being attacked by autoers in the wilderness, and then I was waking up here.”
“You aren’t an autoer?”
“No, I’m not!!”
“Well, you were apparently used by the autoers to raid the castle.”
“I’m not an autoer!”
“I didn’t say that you were. We think that you were taken over by the autoers.”
“Taken over!? How?”
“We don’t fully understand it, but all autoers have something affecting their brain, similar to the “Sea Slugs”. The only thing that can damage that “thing” is the “report” spell. Usually it destroys all mental processes, killing the autoer, but in your case, it seemed to disengage it from you.”
“Report? Isn’t that like really dangerous?”
“No, it isn’t. However, it can be unpredictable. It will sometimes miss an obvious target, it will sometimes do nothing if it hits, but it will also go through any defense and kill an autoer instantly. Our research indicates that it can only be used by honest people, as it will backfire on a dishonest person…”
“I wish I would have known that….”
The conversation was interrupted by another horrible-sounding noise from Daran. Quickly, the person, which Tahu now recognized as the head of the lunar mages in the temple knight castle, spun around and adjusted a control on the foot of Daran’s cot.
“What happened?” Daran asked, as the magic field around him disappeared.
“You were ambushed by an unknown type of Autoer. Considering the amount of damage it did to our castle, you’re lucky to be alive.”

Tahu tried to hear more of the conversation, but he began to feel extremely sleepy. Just as he passed out he heard a strange voice state “Your attempt to resist us is futile. You will die.”

Daran just suddenly collapsed, and vanished in a flash of purple light.

Jessy 777777 was the only one of the three who was able to recognize the teleport spell.
It was a tele-other, but of a very uncommon type, and very powerful.
She quickly tried to cast a counter spell, but that used up the last of her energy. She passed out, and was quickly by teleported away.

Daran awoke suddenly. He wasn’t sure where he was, and he couldn’t see his surroundings very well. As his eyes adjusted to the blinding, orangesh-red light flooding the area, he saw four other figures. One was the mage he had rescued, three of them he couldn’t recognize. “Where am I?” Daran demanded. “In another plane…” One of the figures stated.
“How did I get here?” Daran interrupted.
“I brought all of you here…”
“Why?” Daran interrupted again.
“I will tell you, if you stop interrupting me every five seconds”
“Ok”
“You are probably aware of the “autoers” as you call them….”
“I’m supposed to be on a mission to stop them”
“They have flooded into the lands of Gielinor, and, despite the best efforts of many people, they now make up over half the population. Inside of two weeks, they will begin a takeover of Gielinor.”
