Black Lagoon - modern day criminals who transport illegal cargo on their ship the Black Lagoon for whoever pays them

Ergo Proxy - post-apocalyptic domed city, which had something called a Proxy in it, that awoke in the first episode..and robots that are catching a virus called the Cognito which makes them self-aware

Eureka Seven - mecha/love story..pretty cool how the mech's surf..

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - horror...fairly creepy..about a curse in a village in the late '80's in Japan..

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - about a guy named Kyon who met Haruhi..and got forced by her to join her SOS Brigade club at school..which happens to have an Esper, Time Traveler, and Alien in it, and by coincidence, Haruhi is interesting only in espers, time travelers, sliders, and aliens, even though she doesn't know they're in her club.

Get Black Lagoon and Ergo Proxy from Shinsen-Subs at http://www.shinsen-subs.org/

Eureka Seven from Nanashi Fansubs at http://nanashi-fansubs.com/

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni from Wind at http://baka-updates.com/groups.php?title=Wind

and

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya from [a.f.k.] at http://a.scarywater.net/afk/

I'd suggest you watch 'em all... Each is great in it's own way, and make sure you get the H.246 high definition .MKV files of Ergo Proxy...

Well if you like action, you'd really like Black Lagoon. Tons of pwnage by Revi with dual Baretta's.
Though if you consider violent murder to be action... then Higurashi would work too..

Last Exile is the last one I've seen and really knew i had to get it
I'd recommend it for people who are wanting something a little better
than say... Cartoon network anime. I liked if for the mechanical designs and such.
The plot isn't like super fast moving, but there's really no filler episodes
everything somehow ties in with the main plotline.

Other than that

Peacemaker
Mezzo DSA (yes i'm aware of the... other one but this is different)

hard to think of which i liked

Turn A gundam was good but it's sooo hard to find
(it's also a bit slow in plot if you're a winger explosion lover type)

well there's probably more but i can't think of them
Last Exile has a REALLY good dub with pretty much an allstar cast
the CG is great with mechanical designs by Mihiro meada (very good)
and the music is all wonderfull. It's very original in every aspect
which is why I like it so much. DVD is the best format by far for this one
otherwise you really miss out.

I rather liked wing and Turn A...Turn A had that victorian fantasy feel to it, I kind of liked that for a change.
