I dont know how much trouble I am going to get into for this but I feel it should be mentioned somewhere.
The Village faced a situation so bad that Hiker felt strongly enough to post his feelings to us.
It was a passionate yet direct and unequivocal post.
I want those of you who read this to do yourselves a favour.
Go to runehq, go to the forums and go to the Runehq questions and suggestions forum and read post number 125 by the owner in the topic titled 'Uhm Runehq was stopping. Maybe a dumb question.'
Draw your own conclusions about how to handle a situation and then re read Hiker's post. Decide for yourselves whether you would like to take on board how you talk to your members and then tell someone you know who is bringing the village down with their behaviour to see what they can do to this place.
I am just thankful I come here and I hope those of you who read this will feel the same.

I haven't been with the Village very long but I DO know that there has been a lot of flaming going on and very nice speech Hiker, I hope the Village gets back to the way it use to or close to it.

I disagree.

I say there are too many Mods, and not enough people with actual Administrative powers.

We also need for the rules to be less vague, and a better Warning-appealing system.

The way it is now, all the important jobs fall upon the shoulders of a few, and thus they get QUITE frustrated.


Let's be honest for a second...is any comment over the internet really enough to make you quit? If it is, then you don't have any business being in charge of keeping people in line.

Moderatorship should be held as an electoral position, with canidates decided by the Administrators, but ultimately decided by a vote.

I've seen too many Moderators on this board with a personal agenda for my liking. As I've said, the rules should be made more clear and concisive, so that Mods who do have said agendas cannot twist them around to serve their purposes.

To be frank, I could twist the rules around so much that Hiker himself would seem to be breaking the rules with this post!I do not, however, condone such foolery as this.

The Debate Forum is a perfect example of this...in certain posts, some mods of Group A removed posts from people of Group B, and gave them warnings for being 'offencive' to people of Group A.

Terms like 'offencive', 'disgusting', and 'heartless', are all subjective to the individual, and thus are open to the personal whims of the Mods.

There is a difference between having a harsh look on life, and actually going out of one's way to offend people. It is a wise Man who can differentiate between the two.

Hiker, I have been playing here probably since you were only 500. (well maybe not that long, but close) I have enjoyed this game, as have my son, sister and nephew. In the beginning, I never experienced ugly behaviour, or meaness. But in the last year or so....... there has been lots of uglies. You have managed to address each issue, in a timely manner, and have given nice players (such as myself) recourse against the 'others'. Ignore, and the option to report were really needed.

I really like the Treasure Hunts, and the Random events. They were a fun addition to RS. Also, this may be a little off the realm of reality, but may I make a suggestion. Being one of the elders here, I was wondering if in the future, there might be a "magic spell" or option to keep us old folks from being attacked in the wilderness, like a cloak of invisibleness or something? I hate going out into the wilderness, and I also realize it is a fun part of the game... for everyone else... not me. =)

Hats off to you, for continuing this game, and keeping a great attitude as well. I really enjoy hanging here, and it just keeps getting better.

Also, many other things I won't go into, especially the corruption of the moderators, who in many cases flame more than the normal users.

i remeber those days, they were when i used to mod, but the change in the attitude of people is what drove me away. Everybody keep in mind your mods at runevillage havea a very hard job and do it very very well. so help them out by speaking your mind, but speaking it nicely. Opinions are your own, pleasedo share them with everybody but do not shout someone down for shareing theirs with you.
