Penguin, if you think I'm going to lay down and tolerate your half-baked 'Lander might also be mafia' schtick, you're sadly mistaken. It's hard to tell which of you or Paidea is lying, but if YOU'RE not mafia then the general consensus must be that he IS. Yet you don't have a vote placed. Bizarre.

It's not half-baked, its a prefectly legitamate argument and I'm not sure why you have consistently struck down any other idea than your idea. Your idea is probably the most simple, but this is Upick. Upick is anything but simple and straight ahead.

Landerpurex wrote:

Why not? Because it would make your web of lies that much more complicated? I told everyone, specifically, what happened to me last night so that we might be able to deduce some information. How come you can't do the same? Is it because you ARE the mafia roleblocker? Because you engineered this whole plan? You broke my back.

No I'm not Bane, and since you didn't understand, I was roleblocked, and was paraphrasing my pm (actually almost a direct quotation).

Landerpurex wrote:
First, let me point out your stylistic shortcomings. Misspelling 'because' once, and 'believe' twice? One typo I can forgive, two I can probably forgive, but three typos and two of the same word in a Upick game? Something's up. Something you're not telling us. And they're both 'be' words. Interesting.

Seriously? I hope you are being sarcastic. Those are honest mistakes of commonly misspelled words. And what that has to do with mafia I have no idea.

Landerpurex wrote:
Secondly, the mafia (you) could have killed Henry and you are directly proposing the aforementioned in a weak attempt to frame me.

I doubt that. Yesterday I was following the logic like everyone else, and Henry seemed to be the only one to bring it up, killing him would stop the discussion altogether, and you would be able to continue leading the town. The other is possible, though.

Landerpurex wrote:
It's easy for you to claim Watcher, and claim that a dead man visited myself and another dead man after I revealed my findings. I could have easily guessed you were lying before, but now, wow. After such a strong showing last game.

*Tracker. Also, Paidea corroborated the first part. Secondly, did Kikori do anything to you last night that you know of? Yes, you did post your findings first, which does add to your credibility, and makes it highly unlikely you are making this up. However, it is possible the Mafia could have a watcher type role.

Landerpurex wrote:
At any rate, we can cross-check Paidea's claims with Penguin's for lies. Penguin claimed Kikori visited me, but Paidea didn't get the option to visit me. While Paidea confirmed that Kikori visited Godders, it could be a coincidence that Penguin is lying in the safest way in claiming he visited Godders, who was dead.

Paidea wrote:
@Lander, I'll be targeting you tonight. If you think Penguin is town, you should definitely watch him. This dissuades the mafia or any other roles from going after him. If he's town, I can confirm it, and if he's not... well I'll just do my job.

So? What happened?

That makes your agrument that because I suggested you were mafia I'm mafia, and also because of Paidea's word against mine, I am mafia. Not a very sound argument. Regardless, I really would like to know what Paidea has to say.

Well, I did not receive any followup pm last night, so Lander did not visit anyone. Whether by being roleblocked or by his own volition, who knows?

However what is strange to me is that Penguin essentially copied Lander's story about being blocked, knowing that saying so would draw heavy scrutiny. I know this is u pick, but I don't buy two coincidences in a row. And I do think Lander is capable of a plan like that, but unlike you PenguinGuy he hasn't beat around the bush and his statements have been solid... Not shaky and full of wifom.

PenguinGuy, if you were roleblocked, tell us exactly what the roleblock pm said. Claiming that you "don't want to talk about it" is scummy as hell and does nothing for the town, regardless of whether you were actually told in-depth the details.

While I still think Paidea is the most likely of the three to be mafia, no one else seems to. It does seem awfully convenient that Penguinguy was roleblocked the same night Lander was though. For that reason, I don't feel too bad voting Penguinguy. Here's hoping I wasn't right the first time.

By my count, that's 4 votes.
I do want to give him a chance to speak. But the longer he waits, the more I'm thinking he is hiding.

Penguin has said what happened when he was roleblocked, albeit indirectly. I am suspicious of Lander, however. He's being a bit more... vicious than his usual games, and urged me to place a vote as soon as D2 started.

I seem to have failed to make myself clear.

Last night I attempted to track Paidea. Last night I was role blocked. I was told "Due to circumstances beyond my control, I was unable to complete my night action. I don't really want to talk about it." I was quoting the pm, in hopes that someone would understand the reference (I didn't), like I did with Lander. I realize now that I accidentally omited my target, which was a mistake. I apologize if that was ambiguous, I thought I made it clear that I was roleblocked. I was not trying to be ambiguous, I was infact trying to do the exact opposite and tell exactly what happened.

Don't be a sheep, you are admitting to voting for someone you don't beleive to be mafia simply because others are voting. Have your own opinion.

Paidea wrote:

So Lander is telling the truth, at least according to you. Both of you can't be town, someone had to kill Kikori. You could both be mafia, working together to keep the story together. Or Lander really got roleblocked, and only Paidea is mafia. It is also possible that Paidea is as he says, and Lander simply didn't go anywhere. Basically, due to the nature of Upick, it's almost impossible to logic our way through the game, at least not this early. Occam's razor is unfortunately dimished due to the complete chaos of everyone having a role. The most likely route is that one of myself or Paidea is mafia, but there is a chance that Lander is playing us all for fools. Since Paidea and I could go back and forth all day, my word against his, its best to use behavior.

I am suspicuous of Paidea. His N1 report conflicts with mine, albeit minorly. His actions however do not make me think mafia, he has been reasonable and I agree with the points he has made D1, and though I beleive I was clear D2, and not "shaky and full of wifom" I find this more of an issue of miscommunication than mafia.

I am more suspicuous of Lander. He started D1 with a gambit, singling me out in a kind of "got-cha!" accusation, even when he had two other names. He then proposed his idea, and even in the chaos of Upick declared his idea the only correct idea. Since then he agressively attacked anyone who said otherwise, including myself, and the now deceased Dr Henry. When I brought that up, he proceded to use wifom to invalidate my argument. He's voting for me simply because I attacked his proconceived notion of this game.

Though the more complicated case, I beleive LanderpureX is most likely mafia, not Paidea.

I think its between Penguin and Paidea for mafia, not Lander. I'm of the opinion that Penguin is the more likely of the two to be mafia. As I said before, I'm not really buying the 2 role blockers and 2/3 trackers claim.

Lander's tunneled in, and Penguin's 'nothing is simple, everything is complex' mantra is the biggest load this game. I'm willing to believe that this is just a silly slapfight. For now.

[b]Paidea
, meanwhile, gets away with the most reticent quasi-defense in recent memory. This is how mafia win games - just sit down and shut up when someone makes a mistake. I, for one, am going to at least point that out. Think I'm paranoid?
I'm honestly pretty confused about what exactly happened, but I can tell you guys at least what I know to be true. I'm a mix of tracker/detective/bodyguard/vigilante. When I target someone I can't actually protect them from death, per se. But *if* my target visits anyone else, I learn who my target visited and their alignment. At that point I have two options: kill the person my target visited or do nothing.
Where's the bodyguard-like part in that? He specifically says he can't save anyone. Paidea has played enough not to mistake the roles.

Um, I am entirely unsure as to whether you are just being facetious or you are actually trying to fulfill some requirement here. Either way, purposefully creating typos whilst trying to save your own ass at this point does nothing other than hurt your credibility.

That said, this is Upick and post restrictions or goals are not unheard of. There are no coincidences here, as Paidea said.

Other than that, I am pleased with the manifestation of the train as I am pretty damn sure that Penguin is mafia. As sure as I can be about anything in this game.

You ignored the substance of my post to once again point out my spelling errors, which are just that, errors, mistakes, accidents. When I was writing that my spelling was the last thing on my mind. I do not have a post restriction, but if you don't believe me, BELIEVE BELIEVE BELIEVE.

PenguinGuy - 6 - Landerpurex, Paidea, Ex Rex, Bluecoat, Aragorn Ix
Landerpurex - 1 - PenguinGuy
Paidea - 1 - Sighence

The council decides that the PenguinGuy will be next on the chopping block. He is tried and fried. The council members visit his house, and discover vast swaths of information on every other council member, and documentation of countless similar scenarios involving Mafia in other cities. It seems Penguin was the Metagame.

PenguinGuy - Metagame, Lynched Day Three

Night Three begins. You have 48 hours.

The night ends, remarkably quickly. It seems, during the night, Earth underwent siege by PLANET Fuzzy Bunny JUPITER (note: jupiter did not actually siege earth, it was probably some other obscure planet)

While the UNITED STATES MILITARY (AMERICA!) VALIANTLY DEFENDED EARTH, ending the war over the night, everybody was too engrossed to complete their night actions. Relatively speaking, nothing happened in the night.

Day Four begins. 9 players remain, 5 votes to lynch.
The day will end at 10:10 PM EST on Sunday.
