Not sure if I'll be playing this yet but I'm considering it.

If I do, I'll be playing with a few friends from LOTRO on their server.

One of them is part of a rather good Guild from other MMORPGs.

In spite some lingering connectivity issues (I swear, this is actually making me wish I had a laptop that I could take to a coffee shop or something), I too plan on rolling a ranger on the 25th. My original seven-year main character was a ranger... Probably going to be on Maguuma, but I'll see as events develop.

Well, headstart access is tomorrow, but now the game has completely stopped patching for me. For some reason it keeps getting stuck with exactly 1419 files remaining, and my download speed just drops to zero; once again it seems unable to download more than about 5-10MB before this happens. Everything I've tried over the last day hasn't resolved the problem, and I'm sending in a support ticket to see if I can't find something out. That being said, there's a distinct possibility that I may be late to the party tomorrow.

Been playing a few hours. It was kind of dull to start but after a while I managed to start enjoying things. Made the guild, haven't done anything with it yet. My main character is a human ranger named Eadwulf Falaran; feel free to add me by all means; even if you're not on Maguuma, character names are global, and you can always join another server as a guest.

Incidentally, for anyone who has a hall of monuments, the portal stone that takes you there doesn't always appear in your inventory when you create a character. If it doesn't, you can go to Lion's Arch, talk to the Charr karma vendor in Hooligan's Route, and he'll give you a free one.

Anyway, at the moment the login servers are being worked on. They keep info posted on the Facebook page for GW2. In the meantime, I think I just might finally try out MvM on TF2.

So the servers being down is probably why I can't download the game?

Have tried disabling firewalls etc to no success.

There has been connectivity issues since the game launched, but the GW2 team is working on it. Just be patient.

As of the most recent update, I'm yet again suffering the same bizarre technical issues that I've been having. Communicating with both tech support and an unofficial forum have provided no solutions whatsoever. Am I under stress? Yes. Yes I am.

I made my character on Maguuma. I've got a few other characters made, too, but I'm not using them yet. Just wanted to have them ready.

That's fine with me Killa; if you can get people to quest together, even better. I'm mostly just using this headstart period to get acquainted with the game.

In the meantime, I'm still having update problems. I'm going to do a few more tests, and if that doesn't work, I'll be calling my ISP and asking them why the hell they're dropping my connection, because at that point I'll have ruled out all other possibilities... True story.

So, I've watched a few gameplay videos of this, mostly from the beta...Looks quite interesting. I'll definitely have to give it a try at some point, hopefully they come out with a free trial or something.
