There's my spider dungeon/killer room.
It's 11x11 (5 from the spawner) with 4 steel doors and glass walls.
There are openings 1x wide on the glass walls to shoot at spiders
as well as attacking through the doors too.

I noticed the spiders are more aggressive so they fall down faster,
they even spawn quicker on less area.

It seems a combination of the "bug" boosters and the new booster rails have the best effect.
About that train station? :smooth:

Indeed he has!

I've made three stations so far. One is just north of the spawn, the second just north of the Shapetopia Cube, and the third is my personal station at my fort in the far east. The stations have automatic cart dispensers as well as combined track selector/launchers. While the Shapetopia station currently has all routes claimed, (max of three per station), two of the Spawn Station tracks are open, if anyone is interested. First come first serve, if you mine the tunnel and lay the track, it's yours. Just let me know first, so I make sure there are no track intersections. The routes (in a map below) are all at level 20 (therefore taking up levels 19-22), and intersect minimally with anyone's claims. All boosting is done with powered rail, so it will function fine when traditional boosters get phased out. Took me a ton of iron and gold - From my personal station to Shapetopia is 2070 blocks, while Shapetopia to Spawn is another 982 (You could get the "On A Rail" achievement three time over on a one way trip).

Anyways, pictures:

I don't believe so, no, but I'm thinking I might build a second station to at Shapetopia that you and Jeroen could connect too.

How's this look for a proposed route map?
Image
(Each main station has three tracks, color-coded red/yellow/blue. Route colors on the map are meant to correspond to track "colors.")

Your claim would be more suited for a final stop than a waystation, given how remote it is.

In other news, I've completed a record farm. 8)

(Okay, it's up now, so here's the rest of that comic I made last week. Thanks for the use of your player skin, Mord!)

(Oh also the floating island with the waterfall is there because Znath has one. Drawing a house on it made it look pretty bad.)

A quick sketch of my idea here. Not to any specific scale by any means, but it gives you an idea.
The idea basically is a dome over pillars with a big circular stair around it (or square if that would simplify it.

Then two parts of the dome having windows, the top and a ring around that later on. This adds to brighten the interior and make it less cave-like. Then on top we can have a big spire (maybe a beacon on top of that even with lava or something in a glass case. We can also accent parts of it with obsidian eg rings around the windows could be to add contrast as well as the spire could also be obsidian ( until obsidian would be added, we can throw dirt in its place until the lava is ready to take its place there)

As for size, I would think similar sized to the first dome. As for material... not sure, refined stone or half-refined blocks would be more preferable as it's whiter and shinier ... but it will take more time (not that there's a shortage of wood or stone in the world)

Anyway, around the dome we could make a village, or make personal apartments inside it or below.

Well that's my idea at least. Less cake-like and a wider space we can grow stuff in and whatnot.

It can have a waterfall leading to the train stations. and the farms could be under that.

Got me body ready too :D

I was looking at Steely's Shapetopia... pretty cool place btw! But.. I borrowed one of your saddels without asking, though I didn't know it that I would 'use it up' by using it on a pig :( so I felt guilty and decided to dig up a dungeon in hope to find another saddle. Luckily, I managed to dig up a nice unoccupied dungeon a few hours ago, with a crazy pig in a fire cage and a chest, and to my luck, it had 3 saddles, so I can return one now :p guess I learned my lesson.. also i managed to dig up other cool stuff :) so overall I got my body ready for this! :D

current inventory, want to customize the avatar though, how did u guys do it?

Also I had this idea yesterday, about building a sky-train system, next to the spawn point, so that people can just ride around in the sky and be informed about what our village has to offer. 8) If anyone is interested in helping me out that would be cool! (Though it would probably be better to first claim lands, build stuff etc. before starting this project!

I'm glad you guys held off--I had no idea we'd transfer our items simply by holding them. So I decided to log on and grab my things and snap two pictures of my old base.

Image

I dug this out, along with like six to twelve layers of rock ABOVE it, all under the crushing weight of the ocean. Measures 52 blocks wide by 50 across, I think.

Image

An example of the sheer rock wall. :P

I heard noises of blocks being scraped, and realized there were a ton of squids sitting on my glass ceiling! Can they break blocks or is that just their normal noise? I might've been in trouble otherwise. :P

Image

And I guess this is what's getting transferred? It's pretty much all I have.

ST. MARGUERITE ACADEMY LIBRARY HERE I COME
(In 1.8 I guess, that is)

Wow. That layout is pretty amazing. It'd be cool to get together and build that!

I would love to see something like that come together with the town we're going to be building in 1.8. :^_^:

It's something to strive towards. :P Looks like whoever did that started small on the right-hand side and kept building. I know a lot of people have there own creations in mind in addition to the town, but we could totally work most of them in in some way.
