I'm thinking the bolt will have a little glass orb on it. For on-hit effects, the orb would be right behind the tip, so it shatters upon hitting a target, while on-launch effects would have the orb be on the back of the bolt; the firing of the bolt triggers the spell.

The return of Grageon and saving this RP has come! Btw, Discrim was having RL issues and effectively quit last time I talked to him, so I would say don't wait on him any longer.

BIC: Grageon decided against going into the Institute. He probably wasn't in the best standing with them after the last time he was here. He did see an elderly mage pulling a heavy cart, and offered to help. She was very intimidated at first, and no doubt recognized him from before. But she could sense the feeling of regret in him, and appreciated his help none the less.

When he finished, he went to the pub to grab something to eat and drink. He ordered a full side of beef, and a barrel of ale, and took his food outside to eat in the shade of an old tree. When he was finished, he thought of getting more booze, but decided against it.

He saw Jarrett walking by with some darts and a bow, and decided to call to him.

"Hey, J-j-arrett! W-w-what h-h-have y-you g-g-got th-there?"

OOC: I love you gaiz. :awesome:

I talk to Discrim often on facebook and it seems he isn't coming back anytime soon...I guess we'll treat his character like a NPC tagalong who's not going to do or say much of anything, just in case he changes his mind.

BIC:

Caston arrived at the library and approached the main desk. There was a young, attractive woman working. She greeted him.

"Hello! Can I help you?" She asked.

"I hope so..." Caston said, "I'm looking for any literature you have on the use of two or more colors at once, perhaps something on Thert Bastalor."

"Hmm..." She said as she thumbed through the card catalog, "I'm sure we have hundreds of books on Master Bastalor, but I'm not sure if we have anything specific on the use of multiple colors since it's such a rare phenomena."

"The Headmaster said there might be something of use in here, something very old?" The girl looked as if a light had gone on in her head.

"Oh yes!! Follow me." She left the desk, and Caston followed. She led him to the back of the library, to a glass case with a very old, musty tome inside. It had a lock on it, and she opened it. "This is the complete research work of Granby Messier...he was a contemporary of Master Bastalor, they were close friends, actually. Master Messier compiled all the knowledge he could on the subject of multiple color usage, and had extensive interviews with Bastalor. The book is so old and rarely used that I had nearly forgotten about it. Please be careful with it, and do not remove it from the case. I'll be at the desk if you need anything else." She smiled, and took her leave.

Caston stood over the book, eying it for a moment. He ran his fingers over the cover. Unsure as to what he would find, he opened to the first page and began reading.

OOC: Tanks, I love you.

BIC: "Oh, hey Graegon. I entered a mini tournament-esque thing, and got a bunch of new stuff!" Jarrett explained, grinning. He hurried over to the giant. "Oh man, some of this stuff is cool. I can't wait to use it." To prove his point, he handed his new bow over a started to explain some of it's strengths over his old one.

OOC: I again am stuck on my PSP, but might get my laptop back soon.

Night finally began to settle in. Caston's studies would have revealed much about the need of deep mediation and the attempt of reforming one's natural approach to problems, fights, and the unknown. Delon's studies, fruitful in short bursts. And Paige's meditation, her attempt to clear her mind and examine her own thoughts, would become interrupted twice. First with Graegon's coming out to eat, ending up a few paces from her. And second with Slanor, who was almost looking almost bored as he mumbled all too audibly about thick-headed students. When he saw Paige, his eyes gave a glint of interest. Hers, a flash of anger--she had no love for those of the Black arts. "You again. Not by your boyfriend, I see."

"And you are not doing your duties of training Delon in the arts he so dearly desired. Thick student, or slow and lazy teacher, I wonder?" It was as snippy as Paige had felt in a while, and as far as she was willing to go with the conversation. The orb of water she made dance within her meditation became an orb again, starting to spike out as if forming a mace's head.

"Oh, my patience is quite expansive, I assure you. How else do you think I deal with the jobs I get here? And if you doubt my talent, I'm sure I could work the same miracle on you concerning sir 'Dusk' as I did with Graegon and family." Without warning or permission, he mockingly reached a hand out. Just before it touched her hand, Paige's water orb slammed into his gut. With its small mass, though, it was like a bucket of water being splashed onto him. However, as soon as contact was made to her head, a burst of heat hit her chest, and Slanor reeled back clutching his head. He was gasping, but looking around as if lost. "Where...?" He look a look at Paige, who was clutching something under her robe. "Who are you? Another new student?" His eyes examined the outside again, and the dim light. "Pah. I shouldn't be walking around at this time, it's nearly time to close up."

He walked off, still rubbing his probably aching head but convinced of the date being one day prior. It was only a few steps into it that he realized he was wet in the nether regions, and hurried his pace. Paige carefully lifted a pendant from around her neck and examined it--sterling silver encasing numerous beads of onyx, ruby, sapphire, emerald, topaz, and moonstone. She gave it one of her few fond looks and planted a kiss upon it, whispering "Thank you, m'lord" before slipping it to rest at her heart again. She stood and began to walk toward the library, uncertain of where to sleep but longing to end the day. The anxiety of the final battle was finally starting to settle in.

Not a whole lot. Read the past couple pages and you'll be up to speed tbh.

Get back in this RP and I may have the drive to actually finish it. D:

I don't remember where I left or even much about the story. I think one of the best ways to bring this up to speed would be if somebody paraphrased things so far. That way everyone could be like "oh yeah I remember that blah blah"

You basically left off to train in a color... I think it was Black. We've all been doing filler waiting for you.

Looking for all important players to check in, then I swear we will finish this thing. We will go on without dan and znath if we have to.

Oh my. I forgot about you.

The more the merrier. Expect a post from me tonight. If dan and znath haven't checked in by then, we'll assume they're with us but not really doing anything. :/

Haha, I figured so. :P Perhaps it's better that way, though, given how inactive I am and stuffs. If you guys carry on without me it's probably for the best.

Caston thumbed through the pages further, lost in the text. He read dozens of theories and tips about magic in general, as well as the rare art of using more than one color.

It seemed the key was to refuse to allow one color to identify you entirely. If you were a Blue wizard, that didn't mean you constantly had to remain cool and calculated. White didn't mean you always had to put others before yourself, even in the most dire situations. And red didn't mean being rash all of the time, and giving in to raw emotion.

Caston pondered this for some time. Mastering one color is an immense task, and in doing so, a wizard conforms entirely to the color in mood and manner to help concentrate and master the magic. He had seen before, that letting himself become angry, his magic was more powerful. Wild, but far more powerful. Wouldn't it be incredible if he could control opposite colors? Red AND blue?

Caston spent several hours in the library poring over the tome. Soon, lights started going out and he was approached by the librarian.

"Um...excuse me," She said, startling Caston. "The library is closing, and you're the last one in here."

He turned the last page of the book, finished just in time. Without a word, Caston left the library. His head full of possibilities, he headed towards his room with a brisk pace, determined to light his candle without the use of flint.

OOC: Now's the time to finish up whatever you're doing. :awesome:
