What a beast, Tal.
I've ridden a 2004 r6, but I've always wanted to give a Suzuki a run..!

The day I got rid of my Grand Prix, was the day I enjoyed driving.

ok... here's what i currently drive:

hi traction rubber meets the road and leather exterior....

my last 'real car' looked like this, except it was dark metallic green. 4WD with a 3.2 L V6 and 5 speed. excellent performer and looked great! 1994 Isuzu Trooper
Hidden:

before that, i had one of these-- same car, older body style, 1991-- this came with a fuel-injected 2.8L inline 4... also 4WD, 5 speed. I think this has been my favorite of all the cars/trucks i've owned-- i think i even liked this better than the 1943 Army Jeep i once had.... i really, really, really wish i could have another one of these... they're cheap now, i just can't afford to buy one :( .. i was sleeping in the back of this one (seats folded down) when the bear attacked... but that's another story....
Hidden:
Image

Part of what i really miss-- i've had both Troopers in water above the axles-- deep enough it was starting to come in the doors... and in snow deep enough to be pushing it with the bumper/grill.... only got stuck once, and that was with all 4 wheels off the ground.... jacked up the rear till the front wheels touched and drove on out...
Hidden:
Image

I bought both of those new. I did have a used, clunker Isuzu Rodeo after the Trooper, but I don't really count that one.

and they say you never forget your first one, and that's true... here's what my first car looked like, except i only had one 4-barrel carb, not two!
Hidden:

And you hear jokes about cars that were owned by little old ladies who never drove them... well.... this car was one of them! When i was 16 i had a part-time job driving the delivery truck for a drugstore that did home deliveries.... i was doing this, obviously, to save up for a car (I was not allowed to drive the family car)... this car belonged to the mother of one of the druggests, who had bought the car new. She only used it originally to go to church and the grocery store, and as she got older, only to church. Due to her age (she was in her 80's) she was going to have to stop driving, and so the druggest sold me her car-- for $200! Lotsa stories about this car!

Incidentially, i've never owned a car with automatic transmission. i had a couple of company cars with it, but none that i acutally owned.

The reason for global warming and his gas guzzlers.

But he has become a reformed gas guzzler and is no repenting for his ways by traveling a new path in life.

@burks .. let me esplaine poor mans' fuel economy.

old trooper cost <> $2000

new gas miser costs <> $30000

Difference of $28,000

At $4 per gallon, that will buy me about 7,000 gallons of gasoline. (it's not quite $4 here, but probably will be in the not distant future)

I only drive about 10,000 miles per year (remember, i work at home-- most of my milage is either the grocery store or pleasure trips).

at 18mpg (about what my old trooper got), 10,000 miles per year would consume about 556 gallons of gas per year.

556 gallons at $4 a gallon comes out to be about $2224 per year on gas.

At that rate, i would get to drive the Trooper for about 12.6 years before I made up for the cost of the new gas miser-- this is *before* i even started to drive it!

But let's say i go crazy having a car after so long without one, and make a road trip every weekend, and put 20,000 per year on my car. I still get to drive it for 6.2 years for the same cost of buying a new gas miser.

Put my water/alcohol injection kit on yesterday, tuned it today.

3rd gear under full boost is basically useless now. It spins even at highway speed pulls. Tee-hee. I'll end up throwing a rod sometime this year, but probably when I go full blown E85 + meth injection + big wheel stocker. 400whp or bust (bust before goal probably).

I'm not much of a car fan, but Chryslers always got my interest here... I get to see a lot of Mercedes Benz, BMWs and VWs on the streets though. :p

Well, statistically speaking, slightly more than a giant suckusaur. A dire one.
