Here's the trailer:
http://dragonage.bioware.com/da2

It looks like it could be good, quick to reproduce from origins but good.

Thoughts?

Trailer doesn't reveal too much about the game itself. But I liked the first one and most Bioware RPGs so I'd probably like this one too.

Does anyone know if its going continue the DAO/ Awakenings storyline? I wonder if they'll tie up loose ends with Morrigan.

Looks sweet, but I'm a little weary because of the DA:O expansion (Awakening) being quite disappointing so I'll just have to see if it'll be similar to the original.

You're a refugee from Lothering. That's all we really know so far. I'm hoping it uses your save data from the previous games to influence some stuff.

SWEEEET

I will be buying this game. That is all. Problem is, I've played through the first one and all expansions on my roommates Xbox and have yet to buy it for my PS3. Oh well, I have until March to do so, right?

It's been made into an action RPG and they switched to the mass effect dialogue system... I think I've lost interest. I rather enjoyed the way the first one played, and I liked that there wasn't good/bad dialogue. In Dragon Age you just said what seemed like what you should do. Now we're getting the Renegade/Paragon stuff where you get your blue righteous option and the red evil one. I don't like that at all.

But there were plenty of choices and options in the first one that were blatant black/white options. Also, the characters who were pleased with your choices point to whether they were "good" or not. If something pleased Sten or Morrigan, it was likely bad. If it pleased Leliana, it was likely good.

Hidden:
Several spots that were blatant were towards the end where you get to choose whether or not to execute Logain, and what to do about the throne. The good choice is to execute Logain (I think, couldn't tell you. I executed him, a friend of mine let him live and made him join the group, which I believe was the "bad" choice.) With the crown, the worst thing you can do is take it for yourself, and the best thing to do is to put Alastair on the throne. (or the old guy, maybe. Haven't tried that.)

Yet there are also a lot of moments when something isn't necessarily right or wrong. Something that you've just got to do because the other option might not even work. Hell, there were situations when there really wasn't a "good" option at all. I really hate the idea of running along a game and thinking "Well this action will get me through but gives me bad karma... this one gives me good karma... I prefer to make the choices I know I would make. When they're lit up blue/red and assigned to spots I can't help but think "I'm not a bad guy I'd do this good option here". It drives me nuts.

My biggest issue isn't the dialogue change, though. It's that they're changing the entire thing. This isn't Dragon Age. It's an action game with Dragon Age in the title. :glare:

What does it matter whether or not they assign a good or bad rating to your choices? You can still do what you want to do, now you'll just be shown whether it's good or bad. What you're saying is you want to be able to make evil choices without the consequences. :?:

In the defense of the good/bad system, it allows for better roleplaying as well. At least that's what I've always thought. One game you can do whatever you want, one game you can be a 100% good guy, and one you can be a total evil butthole.

No, I'm all for consequences. I just don't like that talking like a jerk to one person makes the whole world hate me.

But like I said I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE DIALOGUE CHANGE ALL THAT MUCH I WOULD JUST HAVE PREFERRED THEY KEPT IT THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE.

My issue is:

IT'S A GOD DAMNED ACTION GAME WITH RPG ELEMENTS NOW!

Caps for emphasis since not using caps didn't get my point across.

Maybe I should just switch to the PS3 version of Dragon Age since they seem to be gearing Dragon Age 2 towards console controls :glare:

So yeah, games been out for a while and I haven't heard much about it at all. I guess it didn't truly deserve the most anticipated game of 2011 after all?

Too many people butthurt over it imo. I think it's pretty good. Corrects errors from Origins, but creates it's own.

and idk what you're on about Jason. Attacks are a 5-style combo, it isn't "the faster u mash A, the faster you attack and do damage." Combat is better.
