That said, mentos being the first to jump on Riptide after me is making me jump off. I can't trust voting for a lyncher's target or a jester. Either one just seems far too likely. I'm guessing lyncher, that's the only thing that fits with the whole random 'he's gonna pay for the cottage' thing.

Perhaps he hasn't read this thread since he's silenced and can't post? Bad idea, but it could happen. I tend to lapse on keeping track of stuff when I'm unable to do something.
However, I just remembered something. Usually, people who are silenced are revealed as so at the beginning of the day. I'm not sure whether Paidea would do that, but if he would, then Riptide might just not be posting...

The way I see it is this. I really don't consider jester/lyncher type roles (non-survival based factions) legitamate factions unless we know of their existence beforehand. In an epicmafia style variant, you know what factions you're up against and can play accordingly. You can strategize against and genuinely hunt for such roles. When you don't know of them, you sort of just get stuck in the random speculation like we have now. It's not like the confusion we start out games with scumhunting, it's more just like a cloud of paranoia throughout the game. To be honest it doesn't make for the funnest game. So I say, ignore the prospect of a jester or lyncher for this game. It won't end if I'm wrong, regular mafia games almost always play through such victories, and the game will be more enjoyable.

So yes, I'm sticking with my mentos vote. He's been acting very scummy and I'm not willing to give him a free pass on it just because we're worried about him being a jester. If it turns out he is, I really don't care.

Actually, that's when someone is muted. There's actually a difference, believe it or not. 'Silencing' is used on EpicMafia, and it isn't announced. Considering Paidea has played on EpicMafia, it's perfectly plausible he's using it.

But so has Mentos. In fact, it may seem a bit crazy, but maybe Mentos and Riptide are partner Mafia and Riptide is feigning silenced to support Mentos's silenced claim?

My guess would be that somehow he is linked to Riptide and he will benefit in some way, weather it be winning the game or gaining new powers, from his death.

What was snipped out seems fairly plausible about lynch's "hands" coming out better than mafia kill's "hands", since basically nobody knows (or should normally know) what the suits and numbers stand for.

The rest of that just seems like a lot of wanting very obscure possibilities to fall upon Mentos. We've never had a Hunter-Hunted combo that I can recall, and do you really think a detective would allow himself to get lynched without saying "NO WAIT DON'T KILL THE DETECTIVE" somewhere along the line?

I'm with Steely. If we get Jester'd, oh well.

I'd think he would have told us he planned to do something by now. Even just saying he would if Riptide confirms the outside conversation took place and wouldn't if he says it didn't.

Kik, I was just postulating. I had forgotten about the chances of there being a Lyncher/Lynchee as well so it never crossed my mind that Mentos may in fact have a normal role.

As for the hands thing, that was what I really wanted to get across in that post. Another possibility could be that in order for the Mafia to win they have to have a better "hand" left at the end of the game than the town does.

There was no kill last night as well, leading me to believe that there might have been a save and Paidea is withholding any and all information from us. Then again, the mafia might have missed their kill for whatever reason...we simply won't know what's going on with host descriptions until later on. :/



1. We have, in a main forum game, even. Penguin was the lyncher and I believe Sammy was the lynchee, I was scum at the time and I told my brothers to watch the out but he ended up getting her lynched and won the damn game...so it's not unheard of.

Away on vacation til Saturday, but I will have some access to the game via my phone. I won't be completely inactive but don't expect any major contributions either.

Parting words: A select few people cannot carry the weight of the day's activity. By 48 hours I had said what I felt I needed to, as I imagine lander, Kikori, etc... felt too. At that point it's up to the rest of you to chip in/vote/do whatever else is needed. There's no reason this thread should have gone 24 hours without a post.
