Ok, Mentos, you would have some explaining to do...except that you've already explained all I need to know. I'm going to vote for you solely on principle against such a serious infraction of the mafia rules (multiple rules, at that) at such an early point in the game. Unless Paidea says otherwise, you're going down. I don't feel too bad about "wasting" a lynch like this, either, because D1 lynches are usually iffy, and don't even happen a fair amount of the time.
On the subject of Riptide, Paidea would need a replacement before the day started. The short amount of time involved would make me suspect that Riptide does not have a night role, and Paidea already had received all night actions before, and was just waiting for a full complement of players. However, I do find it suspicious that Riptide has yet to post; I'm going to give him an FoS if he doesn't post tomorrow, either.

Paidea could have messed things up a bit too though, some kind of Mafia-Jester. He gets killed, mafia gets something in exchange (extra kill... mentos back later in game... who knows?) which could fit in with him being a jester and able to have Riptide silenced o.O

If the cards are involved it could bring up an interesting scenario from the usual kill the entire other faction to win. What if it would be possible for either the Town, the Mafia, or a Third Party to win by "collecting" certain cards? Say the town lynches all the threes in the game for a Four of a Kind "hand", the Mafia could have to beat that hand to secure victory instead of just killing all the towns people.

Where mentos comes into this though is he could be a Mafia Detective of sorts who can investigate people to learn either their suit, there card number, or both.

Just brainstorming though.
