There's a difference between being forced to do something and doing something because you personally want to do it. Humans are market-based beings, after all, and can usually allocate capital more efficiently privately than a central government can.

To be on topic: I have no idea who I'll vote for come 2012. If Sarah Palin or a fool like Mike Huckabee manage to get the Republican nomination, I'd almost certainly vote to retain Obama all else being equal. If it's Romney or some currently-unknown candidate that I like, I'd probably vote Republican.

Sometimes, the President of the United States makes choices by himself and sometimes, the Congress and the people around him are the ones who choose what he does. If he hasn't done everything he has promised, it's also the decision of the Congress to actually put those actions into plan. In other terms, the ghettos over here in Puerto Rico just got almost free water and electricity because of the governing power... It really disappoints me but it made me glad when some people ACTUALLY came to fight against it.

That aside, I wasn't calling you a Christian, I was noting that Christianity seems to have a better grasp of capitalism in that a church will gather money from the donation tray to give to charity / the needs of its own members, such as a surgery for a common member.

If I have to vote for the Presidency today, I have to say I will vote Obama, recent diplomatic activities done by this administration is very hopeful, and towards a right direction, hope he continuing this trend.

I think it is a good thing that we have disagreement with these two countries, it shows that all three have a healthy and independent foreign policy. It is inevitable that there might be some conflict of interest between world's only Superpower and two regional powers, but from an American point of view, as long as our Commander-in-Chief is serving our national interest and not out to please foreign powers or self-interests, then it is indeed heading towards the right direction.

I'm Canadian and I've yet to meet someone that has gone to the US for health care. I'm fine with paying a dollar or two extra for everything if that means we don't have to pay out of our own pockets if we go to the doctor, the hospital or get surgery.

That's the thing, you DO have to pay. Every hour you work and dollar you're paid or spend

You have to pay for healthcare anyway, so why does it really matter at what stage the money is taken from you?

That's making everyone pay the same rate regardless of problems.
Such as a chain smoking stuntman paying or covering a morbidly obese man's Quad bipass
the same rates as a newlywed housewife with no problems.

Regardless...
It can't be paid for and that's the problem. One hand is giving massive funding cuts to public schools
and the other hand is giving checks out to people who can't afford insurance?
The overspending problems are probably most evident in the tax capital of the nation California
which is in a massive power generation crisis and the government is literally bankrupt.

The reason is simply over-regulation, over-taxation. California is paying twice the average for electricity
due to the massive regulation hurdles and taxes and on top of that they just tax everything
to try and pay for their welfare state. It isn't working.

It doesn't matter if he gets a second term or not, because it doesn't matter what Obama or any president or leader of any nation does, there are much bigger concepts at work and seeds which have been sewn for generations and generations, the consequences of which will be reaped regardless.
