5 Years on Runevillage ^_^

Indeed today marks the 5th year since I joined the Village and despite not being here for the whole time, due to several terms of posting inactivity and one period of "Restricted access" I thought I might as well make a post here to celebrate. Oh and a little note; my name has changed back from Amurond (Lotro account) to the previous Muscular Ape when I realised my little birthday was on the horizon

I could provide everyone with a tale of my history here at Runevillage (red posts, blue posts, quitting, coming back, chat mod, elder, forum mod, permanently banned and the like), but to be blunt I am pretty damn lazy and can't be bothered typing a long drawn-out post right now. Also, it probably wouldn't be very interesting to anyone but me. I will say this though; I have had some great times over the years and I am lucky enough to have been both a forum and a chat moderator in my time. They were definitely some of the best times, as it was right in the middle of when Runevillage drama was certainly at it's peak (frizoid, frogger, chat mods vs admins, chat mods vs forum mods, everyone vs Euph, chat mods vs the rest of the world ). Definitely a small thanks to Hiker and the other administrators is appropriate here for originally entrusting me with these positions, and daresay had my situation at the time been more flexible, I would have loved to have stayed part of the team. Even though I retired from the positions several times, I did enjoy doing them and I hope the administrators and moderators enjoyed having me on the team.

Unfortunately I can't really be bothered doing all the call-outs, as I have made far too many friends, and perhaps even a few enemies, to form a list of. So I will just say thank you to the friends I have here for being exactly that, and thank you to my enemies for providing me with some light entertainment over the years.

I guess to give this post some substance I will just say it's been great being a member of this community for five years. I have certainly had my ups and downs here and have certainly changed since joining. But one thing has never changed; I have never stopped lurking around the Village! Let's hope my five years here can be celebrated for the positive contributions I made in the past, and hopefully the ones I make in the future, to the Village rather than the few negatives that have popped up semi-recently.

Here is to another few years of random spurts of activity and inactivity!

Your "ugly blue text" is the only way to recognize you when you post on the forums with a different name, so keep on rocking with it!

Yeah, I remember way back when you were a mod, played runescape, etc. you always seemed like a happy guy in your posts and in what you did, can't say the same now (no offence or anything). Or maybe I'm just not thinking straight 8-[

I still can't respect somebody who likes rugby league. But my dislike is slightly less now in recognition of this milestone.

Thank goodness you finally changed your name back!! and the blue text!!

Glad to say i've been your friend over the years, even though we have gone through long periods without talking, we always have had something good to talk to each other about.

I'll be hitting my 4 years here soon..

Thanks to all those who have posted... by the way I was rummaging through my folder, and I found this!

Those were the days! My timezone (and as you can see by the picture, it wasn't exactly my preferable time to be in there...) was completely un-modded back then... Of course, 4 of those guys in there are mods now.
