So I just now realized there's a speck of something no my screen that needed to be wiped off.
I noticed it when the "Last post" column showed one by Eadwulf... but with the speck in the way of part of his name, it instead somehow aligned to read Fadwulf.
I suddenly feel like bothering him to make that change, despite its utter lack of correctness in any context I can remember.

I started the Miners' Revolution and joined up with the Fishers' Union before I had 100 posts.
I reported live from the first ever "Runevillage Event" in RSC.
I had a 'riddle topic' in General Chat where I would post riddles for people to guess and tally their points.
I was friends with the likes of PacoTaco, Berserk, and chatmasta.
I was voted in as a Runevillage Legend before leaving the place that I had put so much time into.

And now I'm back... again.

I'm thoroughly surprised and confused as to how there was still a search result for 'Runevillage' when I typed it in.

Good for you guys, though.
This site has always been community driven and gone against the grain, so the fact you guys still have the passion is encouraging.

I didn't notice. It is cool. Also a little weird to see an urban dictionary definition when looking it up. It's like most other definitions- Opinionated unlike online and print dictionary definitions that try to have neutral, catch all definitions.

Thank you for keeping this place alive. I pretty much grew up on this forum and it would really suck for it to be gone for good.

Once again, thanks Jaron for keeping RV up. It's great being able to wade through old topics and names whenever I'm bored and looking for something to complement my scaping.

In tonight's delve into the past, I noticed that an old face in Tooooon visited RV as recently as a few months ago, despite not having posted in 7 years. Now there's a character. People if you're lurking in the shadows, throw us a post or two... it's always good to see old faces and hear what you've been up to. We don't bite!

Hi everyone! I am just going through old forums that I once posted in, and it took me a bit to find the new RuneVillage. At first when I was redirected to this PoorShark thing, I thought I clicked the wrong link, but then I saw topics about RuneVillage, so I figured I was in the right place. I'm glad people are still posting, even if it is dramatically less than how it was in its heyday. I don't think many (any) people remember me, since I made pretty much all my posts in 2004-2005 and wasn't ever a moderator/staff/etc. I was mostly an RSC/Zybez guy but thought the atmosphere here was pleasant despite not being as "immersed" in it as others.

Market Man, by RSC, I'm assuming you mean RS, because RSC is a forum (RuneScape Community). I posted a lot there and was a moderator of one of the smaller marketplace forums for a short time. As for RuneScape, I log in about once a year just to see if my account is still functional (it is), though the way I feel about it is like most people on the forum -- the game has changed too much and there are so many bells and whistles that it feels like a completely different game. I'm also not in touch with any of the in-game friends I talked to during my RS heyday (2002-2004), so I don't have much incentive to play. If I play games nowadays it's usually Daggerfall (the old Elder Scrolls dungeon crawler, though it has MIDI music that reminds me a lot of RuneScape's old MIDI-based music).

Jaron, I unfortunately don't remember you, but don't take it as an insult -- although I made over 1,000 posts here, I was always kind of on the periphery of the forum, since my main "RuneScape social life" was over at RSC. There are some names I remember here, though, that I'll remember, so I'll mention them.

The first person I'll mention is Spooksprings. Do you remember him? He was really silly and zany and I don't even remember if he posted about RuneScape, because most of the time he was posting weird MSPaint artwork. I remember he got banned for some reason, I don't remember why though. He still has his site up, though, and it's a combination of all of his research, both serious and non-serious, and I think that's awesome!

Another person is Shadowdancer, who came here after leaving/being banned from RSC. He was kind of a "vigilante police officer" of RuneScape and spent a lot of time tracking down scammers, hackers, and rule-breakers on RuneScape. He also had a pretty interesting daily (eventually weekly) RuneScape journal, all hard-coded in HTML, that was funny and entertaining to read (he had "Idiot of the Moment" entries when he saw someone breaking the rules or otherwise acting stupid in the game). The minimalistic nature of his site reminded me a bit of Maddox's "Best Page". Unfortunately Shadowdancer had a bit of a temper/attitude problem and this tended to not sit very well with administrators of pretty much every forum he's frequented, which is why he's been banned from here, RSC, and the official RuneScape forums. I don't know if he still plays; he's quit (dramatically) many, many times but often comes back.

Another person is Eastgotenks who used to come to RSC and post spam/flame comments (I think he was purposely trying to get banned, haha.)

What brought me back here, like all of the old forums I posted on, was curiosity. I'm not much of a forum-goer now. I waste too much time on Reddit now, it's crazy.

I hope that RuneVillage continues to exist in some form, and even if this online bulletin board eventually disappears, I hope the community bonds stay strong and people continue to be friends. I'm looking at this all from an outsider's point of view, but I still feel compelled to share my thoughts.

I think it's impossible to forget Spooksprings. He used to talk all sorts of nonsense to me ingame. Most would remember Eastgotenks too, I'm sure. Shadowdancer probably not so much, although the name does sound familiar.

No offense taken; we simply come from different times. You got the jump on me RV-wise so you'll remember more of the early days than I do.

I wasn't really around too much for Spooksprings or Shadowdancer, I think. I remember all the talk of Spooksprings but I must've been somewhere else at the time or something, or just caught the tail end of it all. And that sounds like Eastgotenks, haha. He's been banned and unbanned a time or two I think. Hasn't been around in quite a while, though.

Shadowdancer was a really solid player back in the early days of RV. I remember he had a skill total that I would at and say damn I wish I was that good. And Spooks was Spooks and East was East lol.
