I was watching 'Be Kind Rewind', and about half way through I had to stop, it was boring the hell out of me. I'll have to finish it later, hopefully it picks up.

Image
I also saw 'Wanted' during the weekend, and I don;t see what people love about it, it was 'meh'. You want lots of action without boring story? See Crank or Shoot 'Em Up.

So, what movies have you seen recently?

i also saw the happening...that was just down right terrible...bad acting...stupid lines...all in all it wasn't scary or good at all...

and i did see you don't mess with the zohan...now i think i would have liked that movie better if i was in the mood for it...but when i was in theaters it just seemed to drag on and on..

Sharkwater - very good documentary, had a lot of intriguing facts. (Who knew soda machines kill more people than sharks?)

Hostel - not that bad for a newer-style horror movie, if that's what you'd call it. I've seen better.

PS I Love You - watched only because it was an agreement with my girlfriend for her watching Hostel. SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKED, very predictable and very sappy. Ugh.

I thought that at first too, kind of. But after awhile I actually thought it wasn't too bad of a movie. But then again, I have this thing where I can't hate Mark Wahlberg movies. The ending could have been better though.

I just saw 'Accepted' last night for the first time, I thought it was ok.
Never knew that 'Jonah Hill' was so faaat though, damn.

P.S. I Love You
-Watched with a few girl-friends during a movie marathon. During the whole thing all I could do was think "Wow, that's Gerard Butler. He should be wearing his Spartan helmet."

Bourne Ultimatum
-Bought this one at Walmart because I missed it in theaters. Watched it twice the day I got it. Great way to end the trilogy :D

Tombstone
-I've seen it before, but it has been a while. Great Western movie. I'm your huckleberry.

just got back from 'Hancock', and it was ok.
It was funny from the start, but when he turned all good and nice, it just turns all dramatic and not so great.

The Incredible Hulk - good, but the story was kinda weird

Get Smart - it was really good, but Steve Carell is a loser

Cloverfield - I was expecting it to be amazing, but it honestly wasn't that good. The monster was a little too hidden, the camerawork was way too amateur (I know it was supposed to be that way, but it was just to the point that it was hard to see what was going on), and it had very little story. The whole movie felt like a snippet out of Half-Life 2. Maybe it'll look better if I watch it on my computer, because I watched it on my 40" LCD TV via an old DVD player (which was designed for a 4:3 TV) which was hooked up to the TV with RCA cables.

Phone Booth (watched on the plane)
As shown by my topic, I loved this movie. Extremely simple when you think about it - a guy in a phone booth pinned down by a sniper. But it made for a great suspense movie, and it wouldn't have been as good if Kiefer Sutherland hadn't voiced the killer.

10,000 BC (watched on the plane)
This movie sucked. Maybe it was just jet lag from a 10 hour flight, but I got bored of the storyline halfway through and by the time they got to some desert with mammoths building pyramids for black people, I just lost hope. The girl was hot though.

Vantage Point (watched on the plane)
Awesome, better than I expected with the low reviews it got. I heard a lot of people complaining about how it got so boring watching a single 23-minute event through 8 peoples' points of view, but it doesn't show the same event, it just shows different stuff happening simultaneously. The car chase at the end was sweet. They should've put Kiefer Sutherland in this movie along with Dennis Quaid and Matthew Fox who are already in there. He would've gone perfectly with the role of playing a Secret Service guy, seeing as he's saved president(s) on 24 a few times already.

The Departed
Also in my top 5, seen it before. Much, much, much better than I thought and great even the second (or third?) time around. Leo diCaprio is at his best here. This is probably Matt Damon's best role. Jack Nicholson is great as always, and Alec Baldwin probably has the best lines in the whole movie. Mark Wahlberg's role, though...the movie wouldn't have changed one bit without his character. All he did was walk around and swear (which was funny, I admit).

No Country for Old Men
Watched this just to compare it to the Departed (both are Oscar winners in consecutive years). I like Departed much more than this. I might've enjoyed NCFOM more if it hadn't been set in the south. I have this intense hatred for Southern accents, they're so damn annoying. Javier Bardem and his silenced shotgun and his other ways of killing were probably the best parts of the movie.

Andrey - I enjoyed the Departed as well, but I think I preferred Leo in Blood Diamond. I saw that quite recently and it was a better movie than I expected.

As for me...

The Producers (1968 version) - the 'Springtime for Hitler' part, where a hippie plays Hitler, is side-splittingly hilarious. I just wasn't so taken with the rest of the movie.

Shall We Dance? - Fred and Ginger move to combine hoofing with ballet. Not their best musical, but one of their funniest and with a couple of excellent songs (Let's Call the Whole Thing Off and They Can't Take That Away From Me in particular).

To Be or Not To Be - Carole Lombard died in a plane crash before the release of this, but even if some of the humour is dated, making light of Hitler and Nazism was very daring in 1942 (and Lubitsch was heavily criticised by contemporary reviewers for it).

Kramer vs. Kramer - A very, very good portrayal of the struggles of family life and the conflicting paths of the career driven father (Dustin Hoffman) and unhappy mother (Meryl Streep).

A Beautiful Mind - Possibly Russell Crowe's best performance and a harrowing account of psychophrenia and genius.

Oh Helllz Noo.
And it did make a difference because if they do make a sequal, it'll be based around his character.
And he had some awesone one-liners anyways.

Agreed, the ending made me sad :(
I prefer 'The Departed' though.

I watched I Am Legend last night, and I never noticed how short it was (1:35 i believe). And the alternate ending is wayyy better. But the CGI was bad....a little too bad.
And I gotta watch Black Snake Moan tonight, hopefully its good.

I Am Legend was overhyped. It was a horrible movie. And my version seemed two hours long or so.

I recently saw Dan in Real Life. It was good, not Steve Carell's usual stupid funny stuff. It made me cry a lot, though.

Haha, Alex I can relate to your first post.. On march break, I went to see "Be kind, Rewind" in theatres, thinking it was going to be funny, it was so stupid it was funny. Worst movie ever I think, well atleast Jack Blacks worst movie. I just went to see "Get Smart" in theatre, really good movie.. For anyone that likes a bit of shooting, action and comedy, I recommend this movie.
