For god's sake, Disaster Movie came out a few days ago, bombed at the box office, and is #1 on IMDB's Worst 100 Movies.

And now there's another one.

Quote:
Spy Movie is an upcoming film, to be released in early 2009, by Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedburg; creators of films such as Date Movie, Meet the Spartans and Disaster Movie.[1]

References

Pop culture items that are known to be referenced in the film include:

* Quantum of Solace, * The Bourne Ultimatum, * High School Musical 3: Senior Year, * Spongebob Squarepants The Movie, * Hannah Montana The Movie, * Doubt, * Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, * Die Hard 4, * W., * Quarantine, * Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, * How To Lose Friends & Alienate People, * Eagle Eye, * My Best Friend's Girl, * Adventure Movie, * CE Movie, * Epic Movie, * Suite Life On Deck, * Heath Ledger

Production

Concerns have risen over the quality of Spy Movie. Many of Seltzer and Friedburg's films have been heavily panned by critics for their focus on film and popular culture references and their favouring of these over jokes. Many critics now believe that the "... Movie" films are merely a way to make money.

Half the movies on there haven't come out yet, of course. They're parodying their OWN MOVIE. And they're making fun Heath Ledger? That's cold.

So uh, how do you mimic a film that hasn't come out yet?

I thought you were going to talk about the Spy Kids movie when I opened this topic...that 3D one was terrible.

The movies are so cheap to make that they actually make a little profit from all the kids that watch these garbage movies.

My knees gave in.

They lost all feeling. The second I saw a title of "... Movie" I died a little inside.

Scratch that, my right side of my body is dead now. I'm on the floor with my keyboard on my chest and I'm typing with my soon to break fingers.

They are ALREADY making another? End game, Ad wins the topic.

Parody? THIS IS IN NO WAY WHATSOEVER A PARODY OF ANYTHING! You want quality parodying? Listen to Weird Al or watch Space balls or Young Frankenstein. Those are quality parodies/spoofs.

In other news, these guys stole my script and made it their own when I was 6 and I demand a lawyer!

The fact that they are going to spoof Heath Ledger, is quite ridiculous, and very insulting imo.
