LOST - The Other's Discussion

This topic is for discussing theories about who The Others are, where they came from, what they are actually doing, why they are doing it, what you think they are all about, etc....

I personally think that they may be some sort of military people moved to this Island and remain pure and normal and not be affected by society and the evil which surrounds it (relates to them deciding who's a good and bad person), and to stay away from war, hate, etc.... just incase in the future something such as humanity destroying themselves happens, then there will be these "good" people on this Island. Its just my theory though, even though I still think The Other's are evil as heck O.o

Opinions peeps?

They don't exsist, personally.

They're all deluded. :O

But I haven't seen any of series two, so I might be completely wrong

Edit: oookay, the others are big and scary looking, with bits of wood.

Sammy I think you are thinking of the wrong 'Others'.

U talk about the bits of wood, I believe in the first few episode of series 2 Echo was carrying around his piece of wood.

Therefore they are the rest of the crew from the plane also known as the other.

But toon is talking about the others who stole walt etc.. or did you already know that.

Yeah I think I just confussed myself and everyone else?

Well, there it seems that the island is some kind of experiment. (The Hatch and all). Maybe whoever is doing the experiment purposely takes the plane down (Pilots hired to stage breakdown? Plane shoddily constructed [the plane splitting in half]). Maybe the "Others" are a group that failed. Who knows?

Noes, they were like, big black men, with clubs. Made of wood.

At the end of episode 2 showing episode 3, that is.

havent kept up with season two as much...im going to guess they are scientists of some sort doing studies of some sort on an island of some sort in some sort of ocean with highly advance tools...of some sort 8-[

Maynard careful on what you say my brotherin since the UKness still not be as far as that yet (if usergroup goes ahead, will have topics for US and UK peeps so no spoilors should be seen, and can still discuss more advanced using relevances from episodes ahead)

But, I still think they are from the military and are there to "preserve the goodness" so for example, they were selected to live on an icolated island and stay away from war, and the "evil" of the world. Like a strange religious cult of some sort O.o

Sawyer was going to shoot them if they hadn't shot him first, and they kidnapped walt, or should I say the children in general (french womans daughter) to continue on the whole project and raise them as there own perhaps?

Military fulks indeed, do you remember the knife? Also they could be the reason why the people who were supposed to arive for the clicking of the numbers.
