Kayne West. I love the guy personally, but not as many people share the same viewpoint. Well, people that I personally know.. But selling 2 million copies of his new CD is 2 months is pretty good. His other CD's are also pretty good..
My vote goes to Kanye.

MF Doom, DJ Screw (Drank Up in My Cup: good song :P ), Liveola, Mos Def, Jurassic 5, Fatlip, Biz Markie, Outkast, Wu-Tang Clan, Notorious BIG

Just some good hip-hop artists off the top of my head.

Kanye West, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common, Lupe Fiasco, Wyclef Jean, A Tribe Called Quest, Blackstar, De La Soul, Eric B. and Rakim, Wu Tang, Rhymefest, old Will Smith (with Jazzy Jeff), Run DMC, NAS, KRS-One.

that is a list of my favorite rappers and rappers i listen too. When you found your favorite rapper, try listening to people who associate with him/her, or other rappers from the same part of the country. This is how i really started listening to Talib Kweli, Common, and Lupe Fiasco, just from listening to Kanye West. I love hip hop music.

Cypress Hill whilst smoking upon delicious herb.
cLOUDDEAD after smoking upon delicious herb/trippin' out.
Day-to-day music...already been listed. Def Jux, Rhymesayers, anticon are all win. And the Wu is a classic.

Kanye's pretty good...

Some of Lil Wayne's stuff is alright.

Jay-Z's done some few good things too...

Somebody listed the most comprehensive list I've seen on boards in a long time on the first page of the thread...

Will Smith's original stuff was good though...
