I was shocked about how good this film was. The storyline, whilst it had many flaws, was gripping. The gags were really built up, and you could feel the audience suspense building as people were shouting "Ooooh, it's gonna happen any minute!" which is one of the greatest ways to make a comedy.

Seriously, if you want a chuckle, I recommend this film. 7/10.

Oooh! Did you see this at a film revival? I'd love to see it in a theatre.

And Andrey - I guess you could call Forrest Gump controversial for taking a postcard approach to major world events (insert Forrest in then pluck him out after the audience realises the event). But really, I don't think outrageous or controversial is an apt description for Forrest Gump...especially compared to other films released that year like Pulp Fiction.

No. :(

We are studying it in my Media class as part of our Genre Studies.
The classroom is basically a small cinema, though. :0

Donnie's girlfriend made me sad. 8 years after the movie came out, she's not as hot anymore.

Recently watched Jay and Silent Bob Strikeback, It's a really funny movie, and I recommend it to anyone that hasn't seen it. Definitely not for the kids though...

City of Ember.

Sucked.

The book was great because throughout the whole book, you assume the city is really a city in the middle of nowhere surrounded by total darkness powered by lamps.

The big twist at the end was that they were in fact, underground all along, and they were sent down there 200 years ago to keep humanity alive while a nuclear war raged on aboveground.

Unfortunately, they decided to make that clear for the stupid audience at the very beginning of the movie. There's no twist, everyone knows they're underground all along, and the fact that everyone was sent underground to prevent humanity's extinction is spelled out V-E-R-Y C-L-E-A-R-L-Y.

Watched "Prom Night" with my bro and although there were scary moments, the whole story and movie could've been made so much better. + the ending failed.

Eraserhead

Image

Terrible movie. It made absolutely no sense whatsoever. I know it's supposed to be "symbolic", like Donnie Darko or something, but this movie just came off as a bunch of ridiculous and irrelevant things. Sometimes I felt as if the guy who made this movie just made it up as he went along... or maybe he's cracking up as he makes it because he's just throwing random things into the movie for no reason, and film buffs are like "wow, this movie is packed with symbolism!"

Eraserhead was boring and slightly disturbing. I would not suggest it to anyone... except maybe the world's most pretentious people.

I was about to watch Eraserhead last night, but had too much work to do. But yeah, it's a David Lynch film, which are all known for being spectacularly weird, except The Elephant Man which is a very, very touching and great movie. Anyway, you seem frustrated because you didn't understand it, which is normal, and it's a movie that doesn't appeal to everyone (and not just the world's most pretentious people :D ). Apparently the movie's open to interpretation, and David Lynch himself doesn't want to reveal its 'secrets' either, so you may be right!

i like movies you have to understand, but I think that the amount of content that was something you have to comprehend was just ridiculous in Eraserhead.

i thought that the content of the movie might have to do with loneliness or something, and that the lady in the radiator was death, but some of the stuff in that movie was just kind of abstract to the point where I thought i was going crazy.

Can't wait for Max Payne. Mila Kunis + Wahlberg + all that action = enough entertainment for my 15-year-old brain.

I saw bangkok Dangerous this weekend, and the trailer of the move only gives the action parts, and why? To hide all the boring parts that were placed in the movie, only one person was at the Theatre other than me and my friend. I liked the end, anyways. It was pretty cool him shooting everybody with only two nine millimeters. And I also can't beleive he did not shoot the politician. It would have been a better twist to the movie, than it did have. I can't wait for Max Payne, the trailer looked so awesome, but remember, trailers may only have the cool parts on it, when really there are boring parts in the movie. But, I don't think it would be as lying as Bangkok Dangerous.

This movie was great and had a deep inner meaning that obviously went right over your head.

Anyway I saw Religulous the other day and I thought it was a great documentary and hilarious. I recommend it to any anti-religionist non-believer out there.
Beware all religions, you're about to get owned.

I also saw that new Simon Pegg movie... uhh how to alienate people and whatnot. It had its funny parts and if you can get past Kirsten Dunst's horrible acting it was pretty entertaining.

Watched a couple movies over the weekend... War of the Worlds (Uh...), Rambo (Man-gasm), Hot Rod (Hilarious), Sweeney Tood (Sooo good), and The Fast and the Furious (Loud).

I love Sweeney Todd, and I want to be Sweeney on Broadway someday. :)

Babylon A.D! Upon getting it and actually finding out what it was about, and who was the main character (Vin Diesel) I was skeptical it'd be a good film, but I decided to watch it anyway. The story throughout seemed good, good fight sequences and whatnot, I was presently suprised. Till I got to the end. Biggest anti climax ever. It was like having sex with someone blindfolded then taking off the blindfold and realising it was a horse.
It seemed like they chopped 30mins out of the film. But yeah, if that's not a problem for you, go watch it.

Secondly! Batman Begins, for like the second time in a while. I was watching The Dark Knight for a while then realised I'd be cool and watch the first one first. I forgot how awesome Liam Neeson is in this film. Which brings me to what I'm going to watch tomorrow; Taken. Looks and sounds completely awesome.

I just finished watching The Fall. Personally, I thought it was a great movie. It had a pretty good story and amazing cinematography. I'd recommend it to anybody who has the time to watch it.

Max Payne. 10/10 because it's been a long time since I'd seen an actual action movie.

Mark Wahlberg was pretty badass. The valkyrie (angel/demon) scenes got a bit strange and a little cheesy. The slow motion wasn't overused but when I say slow motion, I mean slow motion. It's slower than stuff you'd expect to see in the Matrix. Action was pretty stylish. The whole movie was set in snow and all dark blues, grays, and whites. Even the bright yellow NYC taxis were bland, so the whole style contributed to it resembling a noir film.

Oh and Mila Kunis could've been hotter. But the Mexican dude who plays Sucre in Prison Break was good in this movie as Jack Lupino too. The only out-of-place actor was Ludacris for some reason.

But yeah, I'm going to go try the game out which should be pretty good.
