u no, i feel sympathy for those people who are so pathetic that they have nothing better to do with their lives apart from flaming and upsetting people, no names mentioned and no fingers pointed but i know of a select few who deserve to be UBER banned!! i hope this happens soon!

There will always be spammers, but the mods and admins will do a great job at reducing that number now that the tolerence level for spamming and flaming has changed

Been at rv nearly *counts*...2 years :shock:

The village sure has changed - you used to actually see posts from hiker and henner and fantasy guy and other such high and mighty people that they are nowadays. The leaders used to be part of the community, not hiding away in mod forums, popping up only occasionally to fix something.

Drop parties were fun - the dragon battle axe drop tended to be the "big drop" and people would post what they got and what they dropped - it was a nice atmosphere. People had respect for each other; it'd be great to get that old villagey feel back.

A Good Speech Hiker… Indeed, Good speech.

I know for me, as of late, every time I got on I thought to myself, ‘Ok, who is going to flame me today.’ Eventually, I got tired of the Village, and began to stray. But now, seeing that our leader recognizes how much the Village has been dishonored by these flamers, it seems that Runevillage will be a whole lot better.

I know most all rather new villagers won’t really understand what the old village was like- But hopefully, they soon will.

wow...i actually remember back when the village was an absolute joy to spend my time

Ive seen it go downhill...and this has resulted in my somewhat limited involvement with the site...and i hope to see it return to its former glory.

Hiker, now does this mean our Admin Staff now has power to ban even Forum Mods who are not keeping life civil?
Will our problems stop if our 500 villagers left are all mods? Will our problems stop if there are only 4 people left? And who shall those 4 be?

The close knit of friends is what holds each click together, and if one part is missing the group shall pull together to bring that portion back. Our village is no different. As we all know Rv has been torn between sides and issues before, however The Village is strong, and those who defy those in charge should be righteously dealt with. I hope we can build the village back to where it was when I first became a part, However even myself, have most certainly had to bite my tongue from saying exactly what I felt should occur. I do have strong confidence in those who are the Admins if they can begin seeing eye to eye for the village, and not for themselves

Anyway, those are high hopes but it would be great to see them come to pass. Perhaps there could be some new system to keep somewhat bad users out. On other forums I've been to, there is a "member" position, not having anything to do with post count. Once the admins deem you acceptable, you are a member, instead of a user. Only members can access certain hidden forums. That way, those hidden forums are very unlikely to get spam. Of course, just copying this idea wouldn't work for the village, as it is much larger. But some variation of it might work.

Hiker hit the nail on the head. The village wasn't like it used to be, the village has grown, and with growing comes responsibility. With responsibility comes discipline for others. That is the way it goes.

I have noticed the increase in flames and such. Personally... i think this debate forum has a lot to do with that. People have different opinions- religous or scientific for example, and when these opinions clash, one/both of the people are unhappy. This leads to flaming of the other persons idea. I have seen this happen and I have done this myself. I think its fine to disagree and say why but it is NOT ok to blatantly flame someone else's opinion. I have seen mods and regular users do tis which leads me to say that nobody should have special treatment- including mods. Thank you if you have read this and considered what i have had to say.

Furthermore, I haven't been at the village very long- only a year- but i definitely have noticed a change over the last few months. Sorry about the spelling mistakes above... i couldnt fix them cause my words kept getting eaten for some reason.

I said the same thing here as i have said in Paco's mini-topic in the debate forum.

nice speach, after i read it i thaught a bit before i posted somethings. i get really mad becuse people go to my posts and flame them,quite annoying and when people critisize me and say im flaming becuse i come across a post with no answers cus prices are high and i answer offering to buywith lowered prices.

i hope that u ban a few of the worse members on rv as, even though i wasent on rv for too long, i like rv.

Well I see that everyone is for the idea of restoring RuneVillage to its former glory and getting rid of flamers, swearers etc.

In fact there's so many people supporting this why dont we make an orginisation for the restoration of RuneVillage? PM me if anyone supports this idea and/or has a good name for the orginisation! (And delete this post if everyone thinks otherwise...)
