I was doing dungeoning with my friend in a party and with two other strangers so this guy called Evilnoob at one point about to go off and says hes a muslim and needs to do prayer and he started saying "Join Islam" and I replied him saying "Join Christian" and so we debated a little in-game before he left, took some screenshots here http://imageshack.us/g/812/rs2k.jpg/

He's being a prat - He could have prayed after or before the dungeon - There is no 'set' time that it has to be done.

One of his five prayers must be performed precisely at noon. Given the time of the screenshots (on the hour), it is very reasonable to say he was leaving for that prayer.

Either way, though, religion is silly.

I'm was ok with him going for his prayers as I have muslim friends as well, I totally understand it but he shouldn't insult other religion nor say to people "When u go to hell" if you notice one of the screenshots showed him saying that to me.

I think he was in the right saying that he had to leave for prayer, but where he went wrong is when he started to insult your religion. People have a right to believe what they want to believe. :)

I imagine most real muslims also plan out what they do around the prayers.
But you could give him the benefit of the doubt by saying maybe he's just a stupid kid
and he's unable to plan ahead that well.

He could be trolling, but it's hard to say.
Given the fact that it's dungeoning and it's time dependent. I'd say it's probably quite likely he was just leaching and hoping you would do the dungeon...

I spose he could be telling the truth, but I'm not too confident he is.

I, personally, believe in Banjo the Clown. He claims all your religions are silly.

I know it's hard, but could the atheists keep it down a bit.
Cripes, seriously does any time anyone mentions any religion ever have to be
"OH MAN this is my chance to soapbox"

It just makes this obnoxious and hostile.
Some people have religious beliefs and faiths you disagree with
you don't, we get it. Don't need to be re-informed each time you see the word 'religion'

The topic isn't so much about debating religion as it is,
"some kid on runescape used religion as an excuse to leech off us in dungeoneering"

Pretty sure atheists never entered the conversation at any point here, nice emo rant though Znath.

We could string on the childish negativity all day couldn't we?

My point is we don't need to just slam religions each time the word is mentioned.
It's not just this topic it's a chronic problem through the board.

Except there was no atheism in this thread. Unless somehow you equate me referencing a webcomic as being godless, which seems to be the case.

Well, you've either got the American atheists who have to deal with this type of religious nonsense on a day-to-day basis or the European atheists who so rarely get the chance to discuss religion. In America, I suspect most atheists would rather keep that to themselves, while in Europe most religious people keep to themselves. Either way, the Internet is a medium through which we can discuss ideas that aren't often discussed in real life. So, naturally, you're going to see atheists spring into action whenever someone starts a discussion about it.

I'd have to disagree. Most atheists in America don't keep it to themselves. If they are a type of person who has come that far in their thinking, they'd relish the idea of someone religious bringing up faith in general, just for the sake of saying...."You can't prove that". Faith is an amazing thing, to me. I'm personally an agnostic who understands the views of both sides (atheists and theists), but would never claim that one is right and one is wrong. I just don't know. I haven't had a religious experience personally, but have heard and seen things with other people that I cannot explain. As far as atheists go, they have a faith of sorts, as well. Not in a God, but in the idea that there is no God.

I think the only religion that people should talk about in runescape are the ones provided in there lore aka Saradomin, Zamorak, Guthix ect.

Like vegans, atheists are quite happy to tell you about their own personal preferences, and to judge you for having the audacity to not think as they do.

The following is what I posted on a topic elsewhere on this site...

Landerpurex wrote:
I consider myself agnostic. I have a passing knowledge of many, many religions. Buddhism, taoism, hinduism, islam, mythology, puritanism, catholicism, protestantism, native american practices and other 'pagan' beliefs. The list goes on and on. I'm agnostic because I do not, cannot presume to know which of these is correct. There also is not sufficient scientific evidence to suggest that God does not and CANNOT exist. I simply do what seems to be present in all of these creeds; practice being a good person.

I try to stay out of religion stuff because it's all just a bunch of crap to me, but this just had me laughing. By that logic, Santa, Easter Bunny, and Paul Bunyan exist.

I would expand on this, but like I said I try to keep it to myself.
