Working at Kroger's normally is entertaining. I get to see the brunt of the public in the middle of the day, when they're at their busiest (and inadvertently, in many cases, the dumbest). However, recently, I've been put on the later shifts. This gives me more free time, and more time to wish I could be playing a game of some kind.
So, call it sad or productive, I've gotten into the habit of turning said longings into pictures. It probably won't last long, but it's still at least something to do and possibly something to share. So, I present, the Coupon Paper Doodles. Points if you can guess which game is being imitated / stolen from.
First:
Of course the items are a bit intangible from how little there is of each, but I think it worked well.
Second:
Made the person on the left's face too small. >< And the right arm is in an awkward position. ... I'm glad these three guys are friends.
Third:
Heck if I'm happy about either one's face, but... I think I did well enough for a sketch.
Random good day doodle:
It was just a random good day. So I drew a random happy me.
DnD Rogue:
No matter how I slice it, this is the class I end up seeing myself being in the DnD universe.
Shading practice:
It's always been the best part of my work, so I try not to let it get rusty.
Random stomach ache doodle:
I at least liked drawing the shirt while doing this. My stomach healed by the next day.
Name that game!:
And name those Arcana! All of them are there...
Name this game, too!:
It's highly obscure and you won't get anywhere without realizing I'm performing a combo with Mountain, Air, Water, and Ice Chi. (99% certain, anyway. Perhaps "Ice" is instead "Earth".)
Name this game as well!:
This one's easier if you recognize the stats. I'm tired of Swordmasters alone getting this kind of build.
A friend said Baseball:
So I drew baseball! I could have done the hair and right arm better.
A coworker said Battleship:
So I drew a Battleship reference! The sword is a tribute to Emil's in Tales of Symphonia II.
A less vague game here:
Though in the original, you shot crystals instead of arrows. (Amazing song to fight by.)
Who remembers Cowboy Bebop?:
Radical Edward pose right there. I liked doing this.
Vut vas noise?:
Hehehe. <3 Medic.
Hero of Void:
I was feeling kinda invisible. Somehow that translated to wanting to make a black hole within my hand.
Original Keyblades:
Who doesn't love making a few things up?
I'm mad now!:
Probably the most detail I've done in a long, long, long time.
Cellaxe:
Thank DnD. Executioner's Axe + Cello + thickly running pen that made every line unbearably wide = mediocre picture with a neat idea.
Name that obvious game!:
I know the gun in the game never actually becomes so energized that it disconnects and is held together solely by the channeled energy, but I thought it was a neat enough idea.
So I saw a tutorial!:
Guess what it was to draw.
Archangel:
Here's my first practical application. :3
Conquest:
Again, thank DnD. God of War's sword, God of Protection's shield. It's too perfect to pass up!
Feel Good Inc:
I felt good that day. It shows. :3
Feel Good Inc 2:
A little more proper to the Gorillaz reference. And El MaƱana!
Name that character!:
His scarf never had that much detail in-game, but the style and length of it were too beautiful to pass up trying to draw. The pose, and success of making it, just add up so well together.
Keep blaming DnD!:
I love the first character I ever made. Kio Kidrik. Ask if you want the details. Until then, I'll just admire the 100% success rate on this picture.
Sanctuary:
The most detail I've ever put into a 3.5 x 1.5 inch slip of paper. I'm thoroughly pleased.
Still Life:
One of the perks of grocery stores? Flowers from the floral department tend not to move away. Perfect models! c:
Slung Spell:
Or, well, a spell slinging pieces of a weapon. The armor came off crappy, otherwise was fun.
And I'm free!:
Free falling! So Chris suggested I use a vanishing point to practice perspective (like I had tried with Sanctuary). Without even looking it up, I tried to do just that by name alone. Odds are I do indeed need to look up the concept of it to get it right.
Legendary Nap:
Aside from the giant ball of light, I like this result.
Rise Up:
Aside from the right arm being too thin, I like this result.
Arc Graffiti:
Inspired by the Brainy Cat art of TWEWY. I enjoyed trying to make as much possible from just arcs as possible, excluding the 'wizard' itself.
Dragon Punch:
Because Falcon Punch is already taken. And I like Dragons more.
Pins:
I'm not addicted to TWEWY.
Shana & Lesale:
That's a Warden and a Pseudodragon. <3 the Dota 2 reference in Lesale.
Waterwalk:
God I love this picture.
Comic P.1:
*Sigh* "... I'm tired."
Comic P.2:
The male climbs onto the bed and rests his back against the wooden backboard, slumping down in relaxation. "But not like physically tired. I don't think I've had to deal with fatigue for a long time. No, it's more emotional than anything. Being a Genie... well, sort of, anyway, is hard." A sudden mental image of the Robin Williams take of a genie sprouts into his mind. "Pfft, hehe. Not quite like that, either."
Comic P.3:
"Though it's not really a terrible comparison. 'Phenomenal cosmic powers' are kind of fun." The male presses his hands together with the glasses between them, seeming to compress too small to be right. As he spreads his hands, a few very bright lights shine out into the room, with many tiny speckles visible and a large amount of colorful orbs hovering around. "See, I thought it'd be fun to make a universe and kind of give ours' design a middle finger. Geocentric instead of Heliocentric. It came with a few challenges, though. I needed a few stable light sources instead of just one sun in the middle to keep the center planet lit properly, and the spacing was tricky. But with three suns and three planets all capable of life, it's definitely a change of pace. The center planet, Shalln, is divided enough in technology and government due to its vast size that they're the least advanced of the three, though they're not exactly bad off. The second planet is another human planet, Pine, and far more advanced. They're almost ready to travel to Shalln and try to join the party. The third planet is the alien wildcard, dubbed Ichithon by Shalln and called Esper by Pine. Very reserved, resilient creatures that are incredibly impressive both mentally and physically, but seem averse to technology..." He pushes his hands together again, the miniature universe seeming to disappear into nothing. As he spreads his hands, his glasses are no longer visible, seemingly gone. "But I'm rambling. Sorry about that. My name--for now, anyway--is Ethan. Ethan Bale."

>_> We weren't allowed to bring consoles into school (excluding club gatherings during Senior year), and nobody really had any kind of Magic cards to play with until near the end of the same year.

Today I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give all of you into our hands." 48 As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. 49 Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground.
