well.. i'll write this as if all of you have already read the "Village Treasury" topic.... if you've not read it, you may want to do so for further details and background...

but basically, donations came in pretty good for a few weeks when that topic was first posted, but have pretty much dwindled down to zilch again.... and we're still not only trying to play catch-up, but in the next week or 10 days, we're facing some higher-than-usual expenses....

we've added a new on-going expense with the new 'net' account for the forum, and most of our various 'RuneVillage' domains are coming due in the next couple of weeks.. (we own most of the top-level domains with the 'runevillage' name-- not only for our own use, but to protect the name from scammers and those who'd want to take advantage of our popularity over the years).

what i'm saying is that we need some cash to come in quickly-- and i'm still not in a position to take up the slack.... it's all i can do to stay out of the homeless shelter right now!

so if you've considered making a donation to the Village, now is a time of need... and if you've not considered it, please do so....

as usual, this is aimed at the adults and older teens with jobs-- we realize many of you are too young to have available cash for this and rely on your parents for such things-- we understand that many of you would donate if you could, but that you're not in a position to do so....

Ah, it's sad. I wish I knew how all the other popular forums manage to keep themselves up. Their members don't know "commitment", IMO, until they've been put in a spot like this.

As for me, I wish I could donate. If I had even the slightest chance, I'd try my hardest. But it's simply an impossibility.

Although I do not have a job yet, please expect a donation from me to the treasury. It must be really hard being on a financial brink, Hiker. Perhaps if you create some sort of meter indicating how much money is in the treasury and when we're low on funds, the ball in the meter will lower too? It'll be a cute and creative indicator and also a unique reminder to donate.
