1. IntroductionThis thread is mostly about creating and maintaining maps of any areas in RuneScape, that you cannot see on RuneScape's official world map. This mainly includes numerous caves and dungeons, but also some islands, and various important buildings with many floors.
There is also an additional list of mining maps, which show what kind of ores you can mine in various mining areas.

2. Required Map RulesYour map must obey these rules in order to qualify for uploading to RuneVillage web site.
- All maps must be 100% completed.
- All maps must face north.
- Entrances and exits must be written in lightgrey/darkwhite, not antialiased, Western Verdana with a fontsize of 8 pixels (color code #B9B9B9 [185,185,185]).
- Monster names start with a capital letter.
- The monster name must be written in bold white anti-aliased Western Verdana text with a font height of 8 pixels.
- The monster level is written between hooks; example: Greater demon (92), if there is more then one, you will write Greater demons (92) (same goes for other monsters of course).
- Mapped by text is also in bold, white, anti-aliased Western Verdana text with a font height of 8 pixels, same goes for side notes.
- Side notes must be as short as possible.
- The map title is written in bold, white, anti-aliased, Western Verdana text with a font height of 14 pixels.
- All maps can only be used for RuneVillage and/or private use and wear RuneVillage compass.
- All maps must have all the monsters on it.
- Items cannot be included on these maps, if you wish to do so make a dungeon guide (for example, see Crandor Island special report and Draynor Sewers guide).
- On some smaller maps if you have a room with 2 or more different monsters, use one dot for both to save space (for example, look at the skeletons and bats on Karamja Volcano dungeon map).
- Only place one dot per room, do not place a dot per monster this makes the whole area messy.
- Post a thumbnail.
Specifying font size / height can vary from program to program. So to have the consistent font size for RuneVillage maps, write
capital letter X with the required font, zoom in, and count its
height in pixels. Try to match this height with numbers given above.
3. Recommended Map Rules- Create maps on 20% of their normal brightness.
- You can choose the icons of things (monsters, traps, veins etc..) on your map, but I highly recommend that you use this icon, of course you can choose the color of it.
- You can also use other icons like the ones in Smokey Well.

4. Master Map ListThis list contains an alphabetical list of caves, dungeon, islands and important buildings in Runescape and it's mapped status. Should you know a cave/dungeon that is not on the list please leave a message on the topic.
Every map name is written in color:
Blue - the map is finished, according to RV map rules, but not used in any uploaded guide on RuneVillage site yet. When writing a guide, feel free to use one of these maps. Give credit to the mapper of course.
Red - this needs to be mapped, if you like to help, go ahead and make it.
Yellow - current map requires some editing, or updating, read comments for info.
Green - this map is uploaded, and the comment also says which guide(s) it is used in.
There's also a list of comments with each map, with all kinds of useful info, like how to reach the area, which guide(s) the map is used in, and so on.

- One of the best places to mine addy and mithril ores, with superheat option, because of shortcut access to Burgh de Rott bank.

Castle Wars Tunnels - OK- Under Castle Wars castle.
Clock Tower Tunnels - OK- Just south of East-Ardougne.
Champions' Arena - OK- Under Champions' Guild, Varrock.
Chaos Altar Shortcut - OK- Through Saradomin statue north-east of Varrock, near Earth Altar, or on route to Lumber Yard. Use a bronze pick at first.
Corporeal Beast Lair - OK- This lair is introduced during Summer's End quest, and is located in Wilderness, north of Graveyard of Shadows, and Ruins.
- Home to highest level monster so far: Corporeal Beast, level 785.
- Quickest way is using Games Necklace to teleport to Clan Wars, although teleport to Bounty Hunter might be better, because of the bank there.
Damis' Lair - Uploaded- West of Fishing Guild.

Demonic Army Camp - OK- Random event
Diango's Workshop - OK- Holiday event area during Xmas 2005 and Halloween 2006

5. Mining Map Rules- All maps must be 100% completed.
- Rock names start with a capital letter.
- On the legend you do a (X) for the amount of that rock that there is. For example, if there is four iron rocks you write Iron (4).
- The legend(key) is written in bold white western verdana text with a fontsize of 10.
- Entrances and exits must be written in lightgrey/darkwhite western verdana with a fontsize of 8 (color code: B9B9B9).
- The map title is written in bold white western verdana text with a fontsize of 14.
- Mapped by text is also in bold white western verdana text with a fontsize of 10,same goes for side notes.
- Side notes must be as short as possible.

- All maps must have the nearest bank on them. This must be located under the map title.
- Your maps must not have monsters on them.
- Maps must not have items on them.
- All maps must have the mineable rocks indicated by icons.
- All maps can only be used for rv and/or private use and wear this icon.
6. Mining Map Recommendations- Create maps on 20% of their normal brightness.
- You can choose the icons of things (Rocks etc.) on your map, but I recommend that you use this icon, of course you can choose the color of it. You actually might want to use a smaller icon due to space.
7. Mining Map ListSome mining areas are already mapped in master map list above. Feel free to update those, but keep original mappers credit, if you choose to add your name to the map.
