If we're able to donate using prepaid credit cards, I've got around $10 USD I can send your way. It's the best I can do, as I don't have access to my dad's Paypal right now :(

Trying to find the date on this thread. I assume it's current? The lights are still on, so I assume it's not too late to help?

Why don't you just close Runevillage down for a little bit? Not permanent of course, but just until you're comfortable to pay for it consistently again. I understand this wouldn't help the current situation, but it would help the future one.

I'm sure I speak for a lot of people when I'd rather you be out of a homeless shelter than hosting this fansite for us.

I'm sure you'd be able to find another activity to please you, it's Summer after all.

Hiker, I actually wouldn't mind either if you shut down RV for the rest of the Summer, until you were financially stable. I'd manage, like I said, it is Summer, and if it would benefit RuneVillage in the long run, I'm all for it. Heck, you could temporarily take down RuneVillage, and whenever you decided to reinstate it, that could be the day the RV 2.0 is released.

That could caus problems. You see you can't just really "not pay the bill". If you miss it by a few days they're normally either suspend your account or give it to you expecting that you'll be paying. However give it longer they normally delete your site. If Hiker was to ask, can I stop paying for a couple months, they'd most likely remove the site aswell. Meaning when we want to come back, we'd spend a good day or so setting everything back up.

well.. i'm looking at this as just a temporary glitch.... we've just not had much income this year, (in part because i was gone for a good bit at the begining of the year)....

in the past, Villagers have always come through in the long-run to keep us going .... we may not have enough support for a dedicated server or some of the bells and whistles we'd like, but we can usually keep up with the basics...

also in the past, when we've had a slow month or two, i've had enough funds to even it out... but with me in a bad situation myself right now, i just don't have anything to work with... it's a struggle just to make my weekly rent, and i'm trying to get into an apartment as well-- which would reduce my expenses somewhat (an apartment would cost about half of what i'm paying now to stay in a motel-- but you have to have extra money in the beginning to pay deposits for electricty, phone, etc)

so hopefully we'll get past this month and things will be at least a bit easier-- not in panic mode anyway....

houndog.... as far as i know, Paypal will accept pre-paid credit cards

donut ... do blow smoke at your parents to try to do this-- if they don't want you to, then you can't!

bartoron - i personally will accept ramen, but i'm not sure about our webhost or enom (domain registrar)--- i'll check with them and see.. :P

thanks to all....

hiker, i sincerely apologise but my card might not come through for a while (stupid natwest....) but when it does i should have about £50 ($100) spare after some personal expenses (psp ftw!) ill try and sent a good chunk to both you and the treasury

EDIT: do you have "crunchy-chewy" wall clocks? i can't see them anywhere in the shop.

I'd agree with that. That way we can stop having a global every month about donations because RV needs them.

Also will give some people maybe a break from there computers all day and all night. So it benefits everyone in the long run?

i see the practicality of that, but you cant just shut down all of rv.... i see how you could shut down the forums temperarily though. there is only about 300 active members anyway.

well.. i didn't check the main site to make this reply, but just counting the forum, during june we had 16,655 *unique* visitors-- making 58,423 visits (about 3.5 per person) and viewed 1,720,573 individual pages....

so we have a bit of usage by folks....

but RV means a lot to a lot of people... and there's no way it's going down unless things are just so absolutely bad we have to go down for good--

ozzie - on your comment about a global once a month-- yes, we've had a lot of them lately-- as a result of donations being down recently-- but compare that back to when we tried the 'big push'... we didn't make enough for a dedicated server then, but we *did* make enough during those two pushes to finance us for over a year each time-- there was one period of almost 18 months when i didn't have to make even *one* beg for money.... but things change.... even so, i try to keep the 'begs' to a minimum....

thanks!

40 dollars went your way hiker :)

I really like the current euro - dollar exchange rate :D Only paid 30 euros (well, that's actually 5 more than what I usually donate when I donate). I'll try to do more donations more frequently. But I can't promise anything.

What about without a home :-s?

I completely understand that's it something you don't want to do hiker and that the situation may not even warrant it yet, but it's something I personally think you should still consider. I also understand what you mean Mogo, it was merely a suggestion.

You're not going to be letting anyone down by putting yourself first for once :?

I apologise if I look like I'm sucking up or wanting RV to be closed down but I have reasoning for my thoughts :)

Thanks Glode. That'll help. Thank-you to everyone else that has donated aswell. The donations that have come through are really aiding the money stuggle and are really appreciated.

as has been said before, an indication bar like the sword in the big push for the amount of donations would be cool.

7 days till i get paid

Well in the Big Push, we always had an imaginary target, e don't here, so it's somewhat pointless.
