Didn't even know it was out. I might pick it up.

I read all the others so why not?

My sister got it for her birthday.

I don't remember anything about the first two so I'm gonna read those again, and my sister is reading the second one over again.

I will read it in time.

You "grew out of books like Eragon"?
So what, fantasy books are childish? I suppose you'd rather read an encyclopedia then?

Anyway. I haven't really bothered reading the series, because I'm too lazy, and I wouldn't know where to find them. I'm hiding from the library because of the 20 or so books that I have that I needed to return about 6 months ago.... I also have no money, so I can't buy them. Anyone know if I could read them online?

TBH the Eragon books are kind of childish.

I think it's pronounced Bris-in-ger, not Bris(bad word).

After reading Eldest again, I'm starting to find the series to be really boring.

I'll still buy this and the next just to finish the series though...

First book was interesting. Cool plotline, nice scenarios, and a good LOTR-ish idea. But then it just got... bad. Paolini just doesn't have the command of language that Tolkein or similar authors do. His stories are just that - stories. There's no real literary depth in them.

Don't mean to backseat mod, but several board mods have posted in here and haven't done anything... shouldn't this be in The Literary Society?

On topic... I'll probably pick up the book. I liked Eragon and Eldest after all.

this isnt really a spoiler but dont read if you hate any clues at all ect

I got the book on the 23rd... released the 20th.. thanks amazon...pre ordered on the 6th. So I read the whole book (751 pages) in 4 days over the week. I was liking it but the plot was slower then a turtle(but interesting) and then during the last 90 pages it got really good and exciting.. then the last 10 pages ruined the whole book for me and im really mad (finished it today) im also annoyed by the fact that I turn 18 tomorrow... ill probably be 22-23 before the 4th one comes out... I started reading the series when I was in 8th grade (that summer eldest came out) and also the fact that the author said it would of taken two more years to write if he wasnt pressured into finishing so!... Im mad also before I think ill have to give up on the series.

for those of you who dont like the series for its starwars by the way of lotrs plot.. it does change a bit in this book......

Today I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give all of you into our hands."
48 As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. 49 Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground.

This is in the right place, I read the descriptions of each forum first ;)

Book discussions do belong in Lit. Soc. though, sorry. :P I'll see about modifying those descriptions perhaps. (Moved there.)

Bought it yesterday, although I'm still in the middle of Sword of truth 5. Will have to wait a bit.
It's funny how books that seemed amazing when you were younger feel more childish now. But in general I liked the first 2, despite the obvious inspiration from lotr (and starwars).

Soul of the Fire? Just had a look at my bookshelf, and that's the one I'm guessing you are reading. The series takes a nose dive in some ways, after that book.

Not really. Tome 6 (Faith of the Fallen in English I think) was one of the best for me, 7 was good but getting sidetracked a bit too much imo.
Now stopped because I have a book to read for school.

I've read the whole lot, wait till it gets really Ayn Rand, then you will know what I mean.
