Doppelgänger

A doppelgänger or fetch is the fictional ghostly double of a living person, a sinister form of bilocation.


What is this that stands before me
In this mirror, it is not my reflection
And yet it is me, but not as I am known
But another part of me, far away from the physical
And yet it cannot just be in my head, I see you
Why do you taunt me? Why are you smiling?
I have nothing to smile about, So neither do you!
Get out of my head, you cannot control me
Corrupt my inner self, turn light to dark, good to evil
Disturb the inner sanctuary of my soul, and distort it
Oh foul spirit, cancerous fetch, leave me, leave me be

I close my eyes and yet i can still feel you surround me
I hear you, i feel you breathing, and yet you cannot be
You are not real, I have no reason to fear you
I open my eyes, there you stand before me, smiling
that smile! why must you smile! i drop to my knees
there you stand, towering above me cowering at your feet
I let out a scream, hit out, break the mirror before me
And then peace
You are gone, I cannot see you, you cannot control me
But you are not gone are you, for as long as I shall live in fear
You shall haunt my dreams, my living nightmare
