Unvote Riptide Seems a believable roleclaim. (If I'm correct, Hermes was a character in that book Riptide mentioned earlier this game)

Defeat, new or not, scum tells are scum tells. Acting erratically, hypothetical logic, and not giving reasons show the same for rookies and veterans. We were all new once too, and we learned.

I concur. We must lynch him now for the sake of the metagame, we MUST teach people that they can't go around claiming "anniversary" and expect leniency. Topsummoner.

Thyker was saying how many _'s Paidea made. He guessed "Steely, I saw your tell." because it matched the number of underscores Paidea made...the second part was just nonsense. But I totally agree!

2nd: When later asked about the vote, tried to brush it off as just a newbie mistake, regardless of the scummyness of it.
3rd: Voted for Paidea based purely on a hypothetical, "If I were mafia..."
1) People who have never played before will do that.
2) It was kind of a newbie mistake, especially since he's a newbie?
3) That's not a tell at all. In a LD game a long time ago when I was Mafia, I looked around and thought "If I was the detective, what would I say..." and was able to Mafia-kill the Detective Night 1. (I think it might have been you, even.) Same goes for when I was a Detective and thought "If I were mafia, what would I say..." and successfully investigated Sammy Night 1. So I think to claim that doing so is a Mafia-only action rather than a player-action is a pretty big reach for a vote.

So all that being said, I don't think a vote from me for Defeat would be justified. I guess I'm sticking with RipTide.

Thank you, Jaron. At least someone understands my plight.

...and how is doing a vote count, when you are wondering, and others are asking for one a tell?

Let's see if I understand how to respond to what Paidea pulled out...

Quote:
We've been...

So we haven't been telling Defeat about what he's done wrong? Possibly not to a completely full extent, but we haven't just now pulled the reasons for a vote out of thin air.

Quote:
Kikori right after Swifty did, without doing...

In all honesty, he didn't support the vote. "Hear Hear!" is a bandwagon move, and there's no way to prove or disprove if he simply came in after Swifty, or waited for someone else to start it up.

Quote:
brush it off as just a newbie mistake, regardless...

This one's 50/50. Whether or not it's a newbie mistake to jump on a vote someone agrees with, the fact of the matter is that they jumped in and voted. I do doubt, though, he knew of the "scummyness" of it. It's up to the person looking at the vote to say newb move or scum move.

Quote:
purely...

Agreeable here that Defeat could also be voting for you simply for the fact that you have a post restriction, rather than purely on the below point.

Quote:
hypothetical, "If I were mafia..."

"If" implies hypothetical. He said it, too. "If I was mafia, I'd be doing what Paidea is doing." Excluding bolding your name, of course.

Quote:
... hand in hand with other...

Normally, more evidence to support a point is more handy than less evidence to support a point. The fact that a small thing happening agrees with the bigger picture tends to be just as important a contributiuon.

Quote:
Bad vibrations.

Ask a vigilante how they make a kill. I doubt many kill someone they get a good vibe from. But, yes, this reason is more personal than factual.

Defeat, Steely described it as "trying to be helpful without actually being helpful". I personally see it only as that if someone who doesn't contribute much to others' reasoning and logic winds up being who brings out a vote count.
And in all fairness, you've been more of a point of controversy than reason.

Paidea: I still don't get it.

Jaron:
Quote:
1) People who have never played before will do that.
Not necessarily, and that doesn't make it a real excuse either.
Quote:
2) It was kind of a newbie mistake, especially since he's a newbie?
Whether he's a newbie or not does not excuse him from defending his actions. Defeat just saying, "Oh it's a newbie mistake" does not mean we just drop it.

It's going to be hard for me to explain, but I don't really think those two situations are comparable. When you asked yourself that either time, I imagine you asked, and then looked for what fit. With Defeat, I feel more like the decision, If I was mafia, I would do that, came after the fact. That is to say, he picked out Paidea, didn't like how he has post restriction, and said, well if I were mafia I'd do that. Also I don't think he's really given much reason as to why a post restriction is scummy.

Unrelated, anyone I was about to play Chatmafia with not long ago, RV banned me again, using a proxy atm.

Ninja'd by kik again, will respond to whats in there if it at all relates to me.

The entire post is supposed to be about what Paidea drew from your reasons-to-vote-for-Defeat post and my own responses to them.

Basically, I think anything he pulled out of your post is being treated as "Yeah, right, quit lying" in some way or another.

Paidea had said that his vote was about the metagame, though. I'm just wondering where he thinks that comes into play.

-.-

I'm fairly certain the clapping to Thyker's "Metaga, m met meta meta" was more of a "Well played" remark than a "He's right" remark.

PenguinGuy. I don't like how he just came in, and voted for someone who claimed a Pro-Town role. Also, he's essentially posting what everyone else posted.

Penguin made it 6/13, not even enough for a deadline lynch. :-s

As for claiming, everyone has a role in this game, so everyone is going to claim a pro-town role. :-s

I believe a deadline needs to be inacted.

1 more and he's reached majority. That's a lynch.

Edit 3- I didn't see you put the part in about the Deadline already, sorry. But still. If he's 1 away from a deadline, it looks like PG just opened up the door for a nice hammer vote in the future, and I don't like that.
