Ehh... I don't think we should be following the list. You saw how much of a disaster the last (few?) main mafia games were. I honestly think Paid should host something because I'm sure he has ideas to restart the interest in Mafia.

Usually the player is not told they are roleblocked.

Another thing, do not let the order in which you receive the PMs dictate how night actions take place. For example, I can't remember who hosted it, but because the killer PM'd the host before the vigilante did, only the vigilante died. Certain roles' actions take priority, but don't leave it up to who can PM faster.

Yes. In general, assume events take place in such a manner that all night actions can occur.

Go ahead. The rule is only 2 mafia games at a time, and since Upick 3 just finished, you have the green light.

Unless someone is roleblocked, or a role specifies it gets somewhere sooner, anyway.

I agree with kikori when he says the person who is roleblocked should be notified via PM. I don't think that data should be made public, though. Other than that, kikori's list seems to have some good pointers. Just use your common sense, and try to use your own experience as a player to be a good host.

I guess that depends on the host, because I have always been told and it happens to me a lot. What would you tell your Detectives, then? Randomly giving them a Villager or Mafia reading would be reckless and unfair. I would highly recommend just saying "You've been roleblocked!"

I just don't say anything and let them figure it out for themselves.

When you tell a villager with no role that he's been roleblocked, it feels to me like giving them too much information.

I'm pretty sure it goes without saying that you only tell someone with an active role when they've been successfully roleblocked, ya noob.

It's just common sense. Of course we aren't going to tell a vanilla townie that they've been blocked, you can only be blocked if you do something. :?:

Well duh! XD I thought you were talking about only people with actual roles. I mean the Detective will figure it out but it's kind of unfair to the Doctor to assume his or her protection went off without a hitch! And telling a Villager with no role that they've been roleblocked is really, really silly. :laugh:

If the person they protected died, then obviously they could infer they were roleblocked. If the person doesn't die, then why does it matter if they know or not?

I dunno about you, but hearing I was roleblocked (whether my target was attacked or not) would certainly change the way I played Doctor, and I think that in effect is worth it for the players' sake.
