So.. I haven't seen anyone start a topic about it.
Opening ceremony about to begin. Canada ftw :weird:

Any athletes you guys are rooting for? Or perhaps you're going to see the Games for yourself?

I am so excited for the Olympics!!!!

What event do you look most forward to?

I love curling, bobsledding, and downhill skiing.

Lol, the woman singing the Olympic Anthem in opera style was horrible :XD:
But nice ceremony apart from that.

Aren't they all? :awesome: The singer wasn't that bad, I mean...well...IDK. Better than me, at least.

And aren't they already like 4 topics made on the Olympics? Not that I'm trolling or anything. I'm just sayin'. [/RWJ voice]

I only caught a bit of the opening ceremony, but it didn't look very wintery.

Also, I've moved this topic to Media Mansion and combined it with Bignappa's.

I like speed skating and the skeleton. There's an olympic training facility here on my campus in Marquette and we have an ice rink, the olympic speed skaters did some training/qualifying time trials here, that was cool. :)

That Luger's death was crazy and tragic. The video is extremely hard to watch. On a happier (maybe not) note, Canada murdered Slovakia in Women's hockey tonight.

18-0 lol. That's an Olympic record btw.

Too bad Jennifer Heil missed gold though.

I just saw the video of the guy dying in luge, and yeah he could've survived if those metal pillars had been covered by something. I think they added a wood wall there now.

He died in Luge, you know... Which even with the Lugers complaining about it being less exciting/fun? Those last few turns are ridiculous.

The American girl who won gold in Moguls, Kearney?, looked kinda cute with her pigtails. But what a manvoice. I liked the Swissboy who won the first gold, too. Biathalon should be exciting. The Koreans falling? Priceless.

And come on, it was Slovakia's first olympic women's ice hockey match. And to play against Canada? USA > China, Finland > Russia in the games today. I'll probably end up eating that last pick.

Screw Sitcom Month, I'm going all-out for the olympics.

It's a shame Apollo didn't win the gold for the speed skating. But second isn't bad, and third for the other guy :D . If it weren't for the Koreans though, he wouldn't have got a medal.

He wouldnt be slamming into a wood wall, hed be sliding along it. And yes, it would do much much much better, it wouldve kept him on the luge track instead of flying off of it. The sad part is that this needed to happen to see the fix.
