unvote

Well my plan was that by voting for you the other seemingly inactive players might actually post their opinions, that way we might be able to work out who the cop is as they don't seem to want to role claim.

Lander, it's funny that you brought up the situation with Tanks because I thought about this last night when I wasn't on the computer but now you just reminded me.

Aragorn Ix wrote:

If you are the cop, tell us.

So he decides to follow a little bit with my strategy...

Aragorn Ix wrote:
Clearly the cop isn't going to claim and I have a feeling you are using all this strategy to send us in the wrong direction

So he wants the cop to claim too and then says that the strategy is for a wrong purpose?

Aragorn Ix wrote:

And now another flip. Not that I'm against the cop claiming right now but flipping twice isn't something you should do.

If it was a joke, then why did you have to say "fine then, I'll trust you on this one". :?:

This is where I go back to the fact that the mechanics of this variant are completely different from the mechanics of the forum mafia you all are so enthralled with. There is no joking around day 1, there is no joking around day 2... day 3... day 4...

Aragorn, I'm not going to look at your first mistake of this game as to view you as mafia or not. Obviously a couple of you view me as scummy for playing this game strategically and not by luck, so it would be hypocritical of me to say you are mafia because you flip-flopped twice.

Tanks, the point of the matter is, you don't lynch wildly on day 1 like you do in other games.

No. The point is, is people take this way to seriously for this to even become moderately enjoyable. Relax, it's a game.

Mentos, quit with the smug sense of superiority. At this point are game has already deviated from your norm and your strategy is bunk. Speaking solely on strategy, last night the mafia did not submit a kill, so trading cop for a mafia (framer most likely) does not yet benefit them. They need their janitor kill foremost, in order to have some stronger sway during the following days, and obviously would not waste it on one who already claimed a role. If the cop claims at this point, all that happens is an innocent is revealed, and our other two power roles are distracted for the night. Framer will take a shot at the cop's target, janitor and driver will take the night off. The coming night is more akin to Night 0 than Night 1 as your strategy plans for.

If you are as good as this setup as you claim to be, I feel you would have realized that. FoS on you for now, not quite sure what to make of it.

Beyond that, Penguin, Animal, and Scar need to start piping up.

Steely, in this setup taking out the driver is far greater of a benefit to town than anything else there is, EVEN if that means we lose the cop.

Do you not see what you just did there? What you just said was that if cop the claims then the mafia won't waste the janitor ability on the cop because town already knows the role. So what if the cop didn't claim and the mafia happened to hit the cop? Then the mafia would have the "stronger sway" until deductive reasoning figured that the cop was janned.

You can't say my strategy is bunk if obviously you proved that my strategy should be taken into effect.

The hell is your problem? Why would you have said that? I didn't think you were scum at all before, but with sneaky hints for no real reason, especially since you had what? 2 votes? And everyone's vote must be placed (or everyone -1 as I understand it), why would you even think about claiming?

Mentos, care to address this? :?:

No, what I've said is that without their janitor kill used, aspects of the mafia's actions are far more predictable.

Tonight, if the cop claims by then, I can guarantee you the mafia is not going to trade their driver for him. SO if the cop claims, the bodyguard and watcher protect him more or less forced to protect him. This leaves the mafia free range to do whatever they were going to do anyways without risk of running into the bodyguard or watcher.

Instead, if the cop does *not* claim, all three power roles have the freedom to use their respective night roles. Mafia will/should still use their janitor at night. So we go from all power roles active and a 50% shot of the mafia to hit a power role to one night role active (Active meaning free to use as one pleases) and a 40% chance of killing a power role, should the cop claim. Note that the chance of a successful frame raises with your strategy as well.

Somewhat related, according to your strategy that both the watcher and bodyguard target the cop, were the mafia to try to kill the cop, the watcher would see both the bodyguard and driver. That would give us a dead cop, a claimed watcher, and no idea which one to lynch. Either way the result is a dead bodyguard by the next day and a dead watcher after that. Watcher protection on it's own is insufficient, as it would require a watcher claim to catch the killer, most likely the framer. With the driver and watcher's identity one could surpass both those roles with ease. The bodyguard is some decent protection, but throw in the driver and any consideration that the watcher will not act, and we have a very dead cop and no lead. Regardless of which outcome takes place, the town really does not benefit as much as you say.

When the Driver targets the cop and the other player of his choosing then the bodyguard goes to the other player. Since the bodyguard does not visit the cop then the watcher only catches the driver.

Lander, I don't see exactly what you're getting at.

Why would the watcher not be directed to other player as well?

It's because the watcher is not actually targetting the cop but watching from a distance, you can think of the watcher as more of a peeping tom than somebody who visits the player, like the bodyguard would do.

According to Epicmafia's wiki:
Quote:
This also means if the watcher watches Player A, they will see the driver plus anyone else who visits Player A, but on Player B.

Or substituting in the roles at hand, "This also means if the watcher watches the cop, they will see the driver plus the bodyguard, but on the other player."

I'd have to see if Top knows all of the bugs with the driver role but I'm 98% positive that the bodyguard does not show up on the report. And if the bodyguard does show up, it would say that he comes after the driver.

I'm gonna have to go with Epicmafia's wiki and say the cop should not claim today. :-s Although to be honest whoever the cop may be, they've probably made up their mind before I went through all this, so eh.

I would like to go with No Lynch for today.
