Well I know Pyro's close to getting caught up (He's about halfway through Thriller Bark right now), so hopefully this topic will be getting some attention soon. lol

Even though Luffy's no match against an admiral, much less three, he's still a BA for taking them all on at once. :weird:

Sengoku doesn't need a fruit. Have you seen his afro? HE'S GOT THE POWER OF THE BROTHA SOUL.

So I'm pretty much caught up now. Just got a couple chapters left. I'm at the part where you find out that Whitebeard's devil fruit powers allow him to cause earthquakes. I could die a happy man if they made a One Piece spinoff that followed that man. He's so cool. :admire:

Edit: Also, in before Zolo somehow shows up and there's a 20 chapter battle between him and Hawk Eye. (I could also die a happy man if that happened).

Edit 2: Right now I'm reading through the Whitebeard war, and in comes Luffy, the big-headed transvestite, two former warlords of the sea, Buggy, and all manner of ruffians and scoundrels from Impel Down; all falling from the sky like rain. I could laugh or cry, but more likely both. This is a fabulous manga.

I'll be honest, as much as I love One Piece, and as cool as this fight is, it's really starting to drag now

Imagine how they'll drag it out in the anime D:

Yeah, it's starting to feel dragged out now, but I guess it can't be helped considering it's a war.

At least things seem to be reaching their climax.

NEXT WEEK, GARP!

I'll be disappointed if Luffy doesn't die after this war. :spite:

Shut up you, you've been right too many times before

EDIT: It occurred to me, Oda could turn this whole battle in Ace's/Luffy's/our favor without using too much plothax by having Shanks or Dragon show up, although that's not really his style

Luffy's not going to die any time soon. That's a given. I just wish Oda would stop pulling this "You're straining your body too much, you're going to die!" crap.

Although I do believe that he'll be using all this hormone/excessive damage stuff from the war, plus the wear and tear from the gear techniques, and Luffy's recovery from the poison as a plot point for Luffy to only have a few years left to live - To mirror Roger's adventures/death. The series will end with Luffy's death instigating a Golden age of piracy. :awesome:

What's this wizardry that allows Luffy to beat people unconscious by screaming at them like a whiny little kid?

"Stop it you meanies!"

*Ace's executioners faint*

I call shenanigans.

Well, statistically speaking, slightly more than a giant suckusaur. A dire one.

This. It was already explained in Amazon Lily that Luffy has the King's Haki or whatever. Rayleigh and Shanks have the same thing - Knocking out the Auction House and a Sea King, respectively. Hancock has it as well apparently, although we've never seen her use it.

Times Luffy has used his haki:
1.)
Against Motobaro [ 1 ] [ 2 ]
2.) Against the Snake Sisters [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ]
3.) Against the wolf pack in Impel Down [ 1 ] [ 2 ]
4.) In the battle of Marineford [ 1 ]

It's really no surprise that he would use it to save Ace. What doesn't make sense is why Sengoku doesn't just execute Ace himself.

As I understood it, they don't all necessary have the same kind of haki, (as pointed out by making the distinction between Luffy's king's haki or whatever (I've seen it been called different things) and the normal haki someone like boa uses)

It seems Rayleigh's haki works in the exact same way, so I assume he has it too, and shanks' mere presence caused members of whitebeard's crew to faint, so although it's not quite a burst like Luffy's it too seems to knock out 'weak' persons in the area, maybe it's the same as well

Whereas boa (and her sisters too I think) uses her haki to predict her opponent's moves, just like the guys on that sky island

At least, I *think* that haki was once credited for reading the moves of others, it's been too long since I've come across that

EDIT: Oh, and haki can also be used to cancel out the powers of a logia type fruit user, as seen in the fight between Rayleigh and Kizaru

EDIT2: oh and possibly other fruit effects as well, as demonstrated by the fight between Luffy and the snake sisters, since their blunt blows did damage to him even though he's rubber

Oh, I know what it is. I just thought it was... convenient that he used it when he did.

I don't see it ever being inconvenient though, and it's at moments like this that he's able to... umm.. be properly motivated to subconsciously do it?

Yeah, I just wish it had been something more actiony, like a gear third bazooka from across the bay or something.

Boa uses the Haoushoku Haki just like Luffy. :P

Yeah, if seeing someone who you practically treats as an older brother getting killed isn't enough to motivate him, I don't know what to say. :3
