Honestly, if I had a killing role (one-shot or not), this game doesn't allow much use of previous-game experience with roles. Most one-shots are probably gonna be used quick due to the uncertainty of other peoples' powers, so lying about roles is bound to happen. So lynching for lying rather than honesty is as good as "just because".

Jackstick is a confirmed villager? No one is, at this point. With your very own example about a grammar nazi role, you brought up the possibility of there being a mafioso with an extra daykill ability. Yet you disregard that option in this situation?

The reason for wanting to lynch me is based on my reason for wanting to lynch Jackstick. Still no one has acknowledged what I have been saying about Rocky, and so anyone still voting me is doing so "just because". I'm voting Jackstick because he lied about his ability, not "just because" he's Jackstick.

No, Jackstick isn't a confirmed villager. You won't find me saying he is. However, in the public eye, he's more likely to be a villager. On that note, find where the hell I said he was either confirmed, or where I said (rather then where J Assassin said) that daykill roles are (even almost) always villagers.

The "grammar nazi" role was in response to Monk's pulling out the popular, common, HAPPENS EVERY DAMN GAME "Nocturnal Detective" joke and attacking someone for it after bringing up a definition for "Nocturnal". The fact that you didn't even note what I said about Monk's response to that is startling.

What I had said is that in a game where probably nobody's roles are conventional, one-shot roles are gonna be used quickly in most cases because almost nothing's certain with roles. So almost EVERYONE is going to lie if it lets them use their role, villager and mafia alike. To base voting for Jackstick off lying alone was incredibly scummy, given that almost everyone is going to have to lie anyway to preserve a chance to use their role.

Although there are circumstances in which lying, if done properly, as a known villager, can surely help, there was nothing strategically helpful about Jackstick's lie. Jackstick lied about being able to protect three people, in order to kill someone. Do I need to emphasize that word any more? He lied to KILL. Still seems villager-ish to randomly kill someone? I'm startled you and others are letting Jackstick slip by so easily after he lied in order to *kill* someone.

Yeah, beyond Jack being the lost cause to end all lost causes, a upick game isn't the best time to assert the importance of the metagame.


I rather doubt Paidea would have invented a role that involves him dying D1 unless he gains something from it. Unless he's pursuing a double bluff of obviously wanting to die so we leave him alone (kudos if he is) I'm not remotely tempted to kill him today. If we have a vig...there are worse targets although obviously given Paidea's potential value to the village I'd advise against targetting until we have a better idea of what game he is playing.

I've had a very similar role before. I was villager in the end, but it was shown as neutral until I was actually killed. I think we'd find the same thing here. You've played more mafia than I have; you know this role well enough. Why on earth are you pushing this so hard?

I am quite aware of pro-village roles with the ability to kill. Vigilante, hunter (AKA vengeful townie), chemist, etc...

If Jackstick is aligned with the village, he truly is a fool. Having a shot and wasting it on Muffin Attack for the lulz is not helpful to the town at all, whereas towards the end of the game it could have come in VERY useful. The point is that he made up a protective role in order to get people to vote him, in order to activate his REAL ability, which was to kill someone.

Seriously, think about it. If someone can justify LYING in order to BLINDLY shoot as pro-village, please, enlighten me.
