what was the problem with the link? how long ago did you try?? up until recently- the past couple of weeks-- that link still had my old email address, which although it's still registered to me at PayPal, seemed to be causing a problem... i changed the email and it seemed to have fixed that...

thanks!

The link worked. It gave me a sort of invalidity error.

Hm...

"The link you have used to enter the PayPal system is invalid. Please review the link and try again."

As for when, just before I posted.

I read your topic. It seems as RV is desperate for money. I had an idea that may work to raise some funds.

What if we had a RV "Yard Sale". People could sell anything to RVers on here, or donate their junk to be sold on ebay. They would then forfeit all money over to RV. I have several old xbox games, a car CD player. Idk... it sounds a bit weird... but I actually think it could work. Maaybe not.

Maybe it's just to much work and thinking. I just figure if I could sell 3 xbox games for 5 bucks each... and a cd player for 35.. then it might be worth it. I'm SURE others have some junk they dont need that could be sold.

If this caught on... I would be willing to help organise this.

kikori....

i think it's a problem at PayPal... i just tried it, using the 'donate' button, and it let me in....

i've had lot of trouble lately just trying to log into paypal... lots of code errors...

keep trying for a bit if you don't mind... and be sure you have your browser set to accept cookies... when it's giving me problems i just have to keep trying....

thanks!

Hmm... unfortunately I can not currently donate in any way, although I would like to...

Maybe if we get Target Cards? [/half serious suggestion] :|

I concur. We must lynch him now for the sake of the metagame, we MUST teach people that they can't go around claiming "anniversary" and expect leniency. Topsummoner.

My paypal donation was sent back to me.

Quote:
On Oct. 1, 2008, you sent a payment to hiker@hikercentral.net for $XXX.XX.

The funds have been returned to your account.

This payment was returned for the following reason(s):

hiker@hikercentral.net did not sign up for a PayPal account or did not complete the registration process.

I do like it, but it's more of a problem that we can't spend money on anything online than the problem that we can't/aren't allowed to donate.

That's what happened to me the first time. Then I just did it through PayPal's main site to the right email address and it worked fine.

In my plan you wouldn't have to. You would donate whatever useless junk you might have, sell it on ebay, and make the payments on ebay available to hiker's paypal. That way.. all you would have to do is go to the post office, pay .50-2 dollars.. and ship it off!!!

since people have had trouble, i've removed the old hikercentral email from paypal, and recently, from the 'donate' links... so it should work now if you wish to retry with the button, or just use my email at the PayPal site...

if you use the button, it should come up with 'hiker web development' as the page title....

thanks!

Ok, I will try again but I have to wait until I get paid on Friday.

Edit: Nevermind. Someone in this household agreed months ago to take over paying our bills and then didn't, so now I have an even greater crater of debt to climb out of. Sorry.

They are the previous xbox games. Tell me what game type you're looking for, and I will see if I have it. Honestly I have over 100 games.. and I can't list them all. I also have DVD seasons like Alias, scrubs star trek. hmm.. etc I could get rid of those.. just tell me stuff you like.. and i'll see if i have anything

Haha, that's a good idea, Toku. I'd be up to doing that, I probably have some old things lying around that I'd be willing to give away. :)

I think it's a good idea too Toku, but I can see some problem arise regarding shipping and stuff.

How is that true? You sell the item like normal on eBay, then PayPal the money from the sale to Hiker. Seems pretty straightforward to me. :o

it would involve the exhange of adresses, which is a bit dodgy on a site meant for teenagers, if it went wrong then hiker doesn't want that trouble on his doorstep.

Err... I must be missing something here... You sell an item on eBay, ship it to whoever bought it, then PayPal the money to Hiker once the buyer sends you the money. What's the problem with that?
