Our current donation subscribers just about cover our monthly hosting.... but we have a few other odd bills, that usually i just cover...

However, in the past few weeks, I've had to renew 6 of the 8 runevillage domains that we own.... and I could use a little help with this....

For those who don't know, mostly for name protection, we own: runevillage.net, runevillage.org, runevillage.us, runevillage.info, runevillage.biz, runevillage.mobi, and of course, runevillage.com.

So if you've got a few spare bucks and have been considering a donation... now would be an excellent time!

One problem, though. Is Paypal the only method of payment? I can't just input my credit card number anywhere and have the payment appear on my next bill? I fear I can't do much if Paypal is a necessity.

Well to be fair, even though we've covered all the generic ones, there are hundreds of country specific ones people could use to impersonate the runevillage domain name, wouldn't it be smarter to drop the less used ones (.biz .mobi .info .us) and stick to the three most well known ones (.com .org .net)

I only know of one .us and that's imageshack.

I think it would definitely lessen the load, I doubt many people would think RV is a .mobi name, I don't know of any!

and anyways, couldn't people just google 'runevillage'? Good idea jer

They wont directly type http://www.runevillage.mobi , But someone can hide it under text/image and they will just click it . Just because it says Runevillage..

Glodenox's answer was, of course, correct... we have those domains mostly so that others cannot use them...

Although we have used some of them from time-to-time... as many as three at once... and we have plans for at least one of those....

Masta: we actually have had someone in the UK send some pound(?) coins in the mail... and had another person send $10 in quarters... that one came with a note from the post office apologizing for late delivery, and deliveried them in a plastic bag... seems the quarters tore up the sorting machine, which returned the favor, eating the original envelope and spilling quarters all over the floor at the post office..

Donut: you don't have to be a PayPal member to use a credit card--they will make you an offer to join, but you do not have to join to use the card... PayPal actually works just like any other payment service on the net.
