That is because there is only ONE copy of the post in the post database, but TWO or MORE duplicate pointers in the pointer database.

The solution is to run a one-line SQL script on the pointer database eliminating all duplicate records. Would probably take longer to build the script than actually eliminating all of the duplicate records once the script is run.

I remember mine was 3500+ but i'm not too fussed about it.

And yeh, resyncing the database should fix most errors. There is an option in the phpbb3 admin panel to do it.

Both Donut and I recently went over 10,000 posts... along with Cosmos, Euph (I think), Tweedy, maybe Jackstick too.

Of course, post count doesn't mean that much.

The mess with the posts should be over now.

The topics weren't correctly up to date with the amount of replies that were made to it. I fixed that now and it all seems to be correct this way. About 730 topics were updated.

I can try to build a script to update all post counts of people who used to have a higher one on the old forum (so no worries losing any postcount if you already have a higher one here). It's more complex though, so I'm not rushing it.

More or less fixed all post counts at once now.

Anybody who used to have a higher post count than they did here, have had their post count automatically increased. Any posts you made here before this action didn't count, but at least you've got your old post count back now

Those who had already made more posts than they did in those 10 days we were missing or those who had their post count restored weren't updated (otherwise they'd lose post count).

The only annoyance for some people can be that their profile was no longer the same, but seeing there is no information of when it was updated, I can't solve that.
