Mogo's new rank, not really a whole big issue, he was an admin before, he's just a different kind of admin now, he earned the rank before so there is no reason he doesnt deserve a rank on the same level now.

In my opinion there are many more deserving board mods that should have got admin before Shando, he abandoned the village basically saying the community sucked and now he is given a position of greater power for no apparent reason and you expect the users to respect him when he has shown little to no respect for the village itself? I know Hiker doesn't want users to leave but this isn't the way to solve that, the admin rank should be given because it's deserved and someone willing to abandon the village just because it's going through a bad time does not deserve it.

Except for the fact that there's quite a few more deserving members to get that position, ones who've earned it, and didn't just take it as a bribe.

You misunderstand the nature of Mogo's position. He is effectively Chat Staff Admin, as he will be focusing on technical issues that arise with the Chat, as well as finishing up the new Chat.

Mogo was already an admin. He just switched from Chat Admin to Forum Admin.

And as for Shando's grammar, that's a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Hoof, I think he and Hiker both felt that it made his actual position clearer.

Staff Admin means you're more or less in charge of running the behind-the-scenes stuff, like Glodenox. Mogo is not that. By making him a staff admin, it doesn't make his position clearer, it just makes the people behind-the-scenes angry that someone got the position they deserve for no justifiable reason.
(and that's not just my assumption, there's quite a few behind-the-sceners who are not impressed at all with this new promotion. )

I must say that I agree with Hoof on the matter of Chat Admin vs. Staff Admin. The Chat Administrator is what it sounds like: an "Administrator of the Chat." A Staff Administrator is an "Administrator of the main site, projects and village staff." (Both descriptions taken from the usergroup descriptions)



No offense, but that does not sound like a Staff Administrator to me at all. When I think of a Staff Admin, I think of someone who is involved in all of RuneVillage's behind the scenes work (Guides, Database, Website, etc.), not just one area. However, a Chat Admin seems to be someone who focuses on the chat, including overseeing upgrades and bug fixes, which pretty much matches what you said he'll be in charge of. I know that he's a part of updating RuneVillage to make it better, but that doesn't mean that's Staff Admin material.

Sorry, but you don't know Shando AT ALL. You do not have any right to comment on his grammer, or whether he is deserving of his new rank, or whether his posts are useless. No right.

OK, to answer a few queries here (This is the first time I've had access to a computer, I've been using my PSP to post for the last few days).



Since I left my original positing I have been in constant communication with Hiker. The main thing was that I was going to continue working on the RV Chat, and remain behind the scenes on it. However I didn't want to have the responsibilty of making sure it was modding accordingly, and modding it myself. the main reason being that I'm jus not active enough in there anymore. However, it is very difficult to work on the Chat without having an active role in the mod community, and especially is you can't access the appropriate mod/admin forums (it makes communicating with the people you need almost impossible). Therefore hiker offered me a different position. He actually offered me the title of well... anything. I didn't want Chat Admin, as I'm not fulfilling the same role as Tweedy. I didn't want Forum Admin, because obviously, I'm not looking at the forums. And I didn't actually want Asst Staff Admin, because I don't really think that suits me either, plus it sounds like I'm part of Glode's team, when in fact, it's more of a case of I'm operating on my own steam. Staff Admin was just the best chocie for now, but it could change.

As for taking another staff members rank away, this is far from true. I won't be working on the main site, so if there is a position there that needs forefulling glode will highlight it, and something will be done about it. if you have any quieries on that, please bring them up with glode. I am not really affiliated with the "Staff" usergroups, so he would be best to ask.

Your view of a user deserving a rank is fine, but i have to say that you are either one of these two things if that opinion is true:

1. If you are are aware of Shando, you'd of been registered here for longer than your couple of days, therefore, you must be speaking on someone's behalf.
2. The reason you are aware of shando, is because you are posting on a second account, which is against RV rules. your IP can be traced, so if this is true, i will give you a couple days to contact me if so

Secondly, your comments about me. firstly I have worked on A LOT more than 1 project over the 5 years I have been here at RV. I've held the rank staff, for 3 of these years.

I am wondering about your comment on my acts in the CC aswell. I rarely enter the CC. I haven't played RS properly for... 3 years? I am never in the CC unless I'm eXtremely bored, there's a new udpate that interests me, or there's an event. So i would have to say your accusation is false. If you do feel that i mistreat you in chat, why have you not raised this with an administrator? We always ask users, or even mods, to make any reports against staff, so that we can make sure we keep RV a fun, and safe community for all it's users.
