Months of absence...and a return

It's been about...4 months, as I can best confirm, since I've been here.

It feels like walking through the doorway of home.

Runevillage, much <3 .

I've been absent. Many other things in my life stepped in to take precedence over PC gaming, and as that occurred, I slowly dropped off Runescape, as well as Runevillage, merely from heavier involvement with other things rather than any conscious decision. Without this devolving into a life story, I'll briefly mention some of the things that had me occupied...

As some of you may know, I'm a gifted child, and I've been in college since 14. That being said, it's merely a small local college (2000 students?) very close to my house. I can't apply to the Ivy League schools I desire to until I'm 17; that's mainly because to receive any sort of financial aid in the forms of grants, acknowledgements, loans, or work-study employment, you have to either be a legal adult of 18 years of age, or 17 so that your parents and you may legally cosign together. Anyway, I'm here, gathering credits at this small school until I'm 17.

I began to tutor; that was my primary source of income through June. Even though I'm currently in college, I'm still performing standardized testing, hoping to up my scores to the maximum threshold. Therefore, I took the SATs ... as well as an SAT II Subject Test in Latin...(lovely).

Add in a more-than-healthy dose of Halo 3, and I dropped completely out of PC gaming. Hell, Halo 3 was chewing into incredible amounts of my time since it's release, even up through February, the last time I visited the Village.

Add together academics, family (a new nephew, a brother's move, uncle's wedding, cousin's wedding, relative's moving...another nephew/niece on the way), concluding my Eagle Scout process, and console gaming, and my time was basically entirely accounted for.

After just a couple weeks of absence from the Village, I made the conscious choice to make a "clean break" of it, rather than visiting spottily and infrequently like I had been doing for the two months prior to my departure. While I didn't really want to have things this way, I thought it best, because I don't like to do things half-heartedly. If I'm to be part of something, I'll do it wholeheartedly, because it's something I desire to do, not something I feel lackadaisical about.

Since the beginning of May, however, as I saw the end of many commitments looming in sight, I began to yearn to return to community and friendship. I began to sporadically check the Runescape updates, so I could begin to get back into the loop of things. The entire time my subscription had been running, so I was able to vote in polls and the like. I found out I'd received 0.1 blackmarks for making a derogatory remark in the RV CC aimed towards the random event Molly, the perpetrator of many of my woes. Since numerous other people were griping about randoms and making some rather obscene, lewd, or derogatory comments, I made an uncharacteristic step out of character and left a comment "Molly the ho." Someone felt the need to report me, so now I'm one of the tainted ones. I've received demerits...

But with testing, the academic school year, and other commitments' consecutive conclusions, I'm back, and glad to say, I'm free. Free to be home, to be involved, and happy.

Fortunately, this coincided perfectly with the release of Runescape HD. As I'd been watching the updates, I was quite pleased to see that such major improvements were being made.

So here I am. Back and black. (On a personal note, I found out that legally I am indeed considered African-American, so that quelled a rather personal point of argument that many people felt compelled to berate me concerning...)

Hope I'll still be able to be a part of this community.

Heyya Paws! What's been going on?

Maybe someone will be kind enough to take me under their wing for a sort of 'introduction' to P2P, since I never really had one. I had so many offers after the whole hype of me getting it, but as I began to play less, I never capitalized. Idiot much?

So...this is honestly disturbing me, all the upper echelons of the Village messing with their names. Particularly with my currently sleep-deprived brain.

Hey, wait, my grammar/vocab. hasn't been any different, really.. o.O maybe I was just too busy being a flippant jerk. Yeah, I don't think there was much I was doing while I was gone that I hadn't been doing while I was here. Except that I balanced it so that RV got shortchanged consistently...and I'm here to fix that.

Goodness, man, Dunub, get a life! 11,000+ posts? Do you do anything else?
