I am going to side a little bit with Tennis Ace on this one. I do understand his concerns since I too had some issues with the whole theme thing a while back. However, I feel that the main bone of contention isnt the fact that there are themed months, just the way it is for want of a better expression 'marketed'.

I feel the legends are an ideal set of idiots to set the theme for the month. We are apolitical, with no administrative or modding powers. And if there is to be a themed month, someone somewhere has to make the decision as to what it will be. Where it all seems to go wrong is in not making the rest of the Village feel involved by suddenly seeing the theme displayed instead of announced. I can see where Tennnis Ace has a problem with that to be frank.

I am sure that if on the first day of the month or even better a few days before the end of the month, an announcement could be put out as to what the theme will be and 'everyone' is invited to take part, it would give people foreknowledge of what is planned and time to prepare. In other words, a sense of involvement.

I cannot see people having a problem with the theme being decided. They can chose to take part month to month as they see fit and there is no harm in submitting suggestions. Maybe that would go some way to alleviating some of the concerns raised.

The reason they are just suddenly displayed instead of being announced is because usually one person just posts their idea in the Legend's forum, there isn't really discussion or voting on what the next month will be.
