I can grasp fun. I see that you guys are having fun... at the expense of many others' aggravation!

What you guys don't realize is we underlings ARE forced to participate. We have to see "witty," mangled names whenever we decide to come to the forum. EVERY TIME, even on the index!

As I said before, the names should not, and most likely will not, cause any confusion. The one I mentioned before involves me and Donut Juice, but our signatures still show who we are, despite the possibly confusing names. I do apologize for that. However, there is no reason that "Bulkweedy" should be seen as anybody but "Bulker," just as "Jackerel," "Applechow," "A5quest," and the others should not be confused for any reason.

Quote:
I do find it highly amusing that you guys suggest people create their own themed months. Do you honestly think that would go over well? I'm laughing just thinking about it. I'm pretty sure orange month was created by staff members because they, at the time, weren't in on the whole pink month "in-crowd" cliquey theme.

And they still aren't in on the cliquey theme. However, Orange was simply a group of friends who decided to do something different. In fact, our little theme was a mock-protest of the Legends' theme, urging users to create their own. And the process of Orange went down just as I think normal users should do it. Get five friends, come up with an idea, create signatures (or contact and admin if you need a name change), and then enjoy your sense of self-spirit. There's nothing wrong with a bit of jest with your friends.

Quote:
You guys will never understand being a normal user since you all were promoted so quickly. Luckily for me, I have experience being an administrator, moderator, and normal user, so I see where everyone is coming from.

I do see your points, but frankly, what I actually think is that you just don't want to stop. All of you, and that's why I, as well as everyone else who has complained before, am being ganged up on. You all think that you have this great idea and are unwilling to compromise, while many people who view this forum (and I'm sure guests as well!) find it incredibly arrogant and frustrating.

My only comment on this is that this isn't applicable to everyone. This is the first super-clique -- I'm beginning to like using this word -- theme I've followed, and it could possibly be the last. This is the first that I think can actually be fun and create a little freshness in the Village. I don't see how this is arrogance (although once again, I admit that we don't share the same views on the topic), but I will admit that some users may find it a bit annoying. I still don't think that this group of users will be the overwhelming majority of users, but I do apologize to those users. For new users, this could be a harrowing experience. However, no profiles are being changed, and no official parts of RuneVillage are being changed, meaning the system will still run for all users, both new and old.

Quote:
Well, I have nothing personal against any of you guys. I still like you, which apparently isn't the likewise case

Quite the contrary, actually. I've always thought you've had well thought out posts (as can be seen here), and I respect that. I know I've never actually talked much with you, but that doesn't mean I can't like you. Despite our differences on this topic, I don't see how much will change... Differences always exist between humans. It's natural.

FYI.. My name changed from Malkin to ♥Malkin by my choice, not in census with the general tards- (Not intentionally dissing those with ranks).

My MSN has been ♥Malkin for like- Eva..

Ye. Just to set the records straight, and so Im not being tarnished with the same brush.

I really don't want to get into this, as it doesn't seem to be going anywhere, but in addition to what TAI, Apple and the rest have said, we do have normal users participating in this, so the 'exclusion' card can't be so commonly thrown about.

Plainly put, I fail to see how anyone could find this annoying. :?

Donut = Purple, TAI = Neon Green.

Although the original "rule" to the name fusions is that you have to keep the first part of your name the same to help better understand who's who, in a case like Donut and TAI it's easy to tell through name coloration.

Exactly. Had it been Goten and I, for example, I'm sure we would have taken a different route, as we have identically-colored names.

If you're finished with the discussion, I hope it's not due 'us' oppressing you, I can assure you we certainly don't want that. In this discussion, we're not trying to belittle you or anyone else, regardless of what you seem to think, we're just trying to get you to see our point of view. Not because it needs to be just, simply because, well.. we want to have some fun with you all! Evidently, we aren't storming up a list of events, and ultimately choosing the most annoying one. It's actually quite the opposite, we thought this to be fun, and I assume the majority of us still see hope in that.

If you are finished the discussion by your own conclusion, that's good to hear, and I hope you can enjoy the month along with 'us' and all the others who choose to enjoy it with us, as intended. :)

Not going to lie, at first, I did the same thing as Tennis Ace. Roll my eyes at this. But as Jenny put it, the "fusion names" I laughed because it reminded me of this:

Fusionnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.... HA!

Not my month, but it can still be quite enjoyable.

It's pink month all over again. :-s

Get over it. It's people having a bit of fun. Things like what you're doing (Tennis) is the reason this site is losing activity somewhat.
Let them have their fun. If you think it's idiotic, fine, don't participate, but you wouldn't be complaining if they signed up with those names, so don't complain now.

That being said, nothing cool comes from combining Hoof Hearted with anything, so I doubt I'll be participating. D:

I've decided we're swapping names. You can be Moron and I'll be Bard.

I hope that's relevant to what you posted, because I didn't read it.

EDIT: Ok, apparently since "Moron" is such a bad curse it's been filtered.

I give a big fat eyeroll to everyone who has changed their names. To me it's just "tehehe we're mods and being witty *gigglesnort*." Whatever. I just see it as a bunch of attention-seekers who think they are in the online in-crowd. It just annoys me that it's always the little mods and whatnot who think they are all that because they and only they participate in some stupid themed month thing.

I would never do that. I have too much respect for everyone, little and big, and I don't consider myself to be superior to them.

Of course, the response will be is that I'm wrong, but it's clear that normal villagers, however long we've been here, will always be on the lowest pedestal here. That's why I visit several communities, where everyone is on an equal playing field. I feel like it balances this one out.

Good way to blow this way out of proportion. Your unnecessary and frankly pathetic moaning is the reason this site is going down hill. Just because you do not like something does not mean you have to make accusations as to why it was done.

We all know it's a regular thing that the Legends think up something usually fairly fun to do. Once they've thought it up and it starts to catch on, anyone can do it, not just them.

Perhaps you need to grow up, or maybe go stay at one of them other sites where maybe you are less of an Fuzzy Bunny because over here I doubt you are making many friends with that sort of attitude.

Good day to you, sir.

can i just take this chance to make one clear point. although the ''coloured'' users decide upon thier monthly theme, this does not mean that normal users cannot partake.

equally normal users have access to general chats, why not plan your own month there?

the idea of these months is that hey are fun and inventive

remember pink month, that was legends decided, and yet the village staff launched a rebellion and created orange month to coincide with it, possibly one of the funniest months in recent rv history

As for the process of picking the theme, it is far easier to do with a smaller group of people than it is if the whole site suggests things and then votes. My God, look through some of the threads in Hikers Campfire and you can see how long it takes to make one decision when the entire site has a say in it. Many of the months' themes were picked by one person. They say "hey June is pirate month" and everyone goes "oh, ok cool". It would take all of the fun and spontaniety out of it if we make a thread for suggestions, pick some of those suggestions and then vote on the ones we picked. The month would be half over before a theme was decided upon.

The point is to have fun and the above described process would be the opposite of that.

Judging by our new 'Willow Demon' (that would be one hell of an NPC) I'd have to guess you fused with our former Willowguy. ;)

Also you have access to Name Changes :shifty: - Gamey

I actually think that some of the name changes are good, although when I first saw them I was thinking "What the Heck?"

And for the record, even though I am getting a name change soon, it is not a fusion of names.

Sure it can.
